Han Solo from ROTJ has a simple white shirt. He's in a number of sets, but most recently the Carbonite Freezing Chamber (75137).

Star Wars isn't quite about old fans these days, it's about getting a new generation in. Old Lego Star Wars collectors have all this material from prior years - Lego is finding a way to package it for new collectors. I really feel that Insult on Hoth and NewDS are not for us. It's for people jumping on board the new Disney Star Wars train. Normally that's not a bad thing, as more money into the Star Wars license should always be welcome. It should mean Lego has more financial stability or create more Star Wars products or the odd piece here and there just for the fun of it. Theoretically, if Insult on Hoth and NewDS did really well it could pave the way for more exciting offerings next year.

Not the answer I was hoping for, but it makes more sense. Thanks for posting that.

A dark protocol droid with bug eyes...? I know he has no right being on the Death Star from an OT movie perspective, but that sounds a lot like 4-LOM. Maybe he'll have a cameo in RO?

As someone who considers themselves a Lego minifigure collector and a bit of a long-one Lego collector, I would suggest to the newer crowd that pacing themselves is usually the cheaper option. Lego has proven that Star Wars gets frequent updates to its sets, in general. Particularly when it comes to the OT. When I bought the 10188 DS, it was not for the minifigures or the build, it was mostly just to say I had it. At the time, I had better, cheaper versions of nearly all the minifigures included, so it was more for completing a collection. Now I have silly amounts of all the main characters that I've acquired from sets through the years since. My point being that even though this set will have a near complete main character cast from the OT, there may be cheaper options in that regard. And as Lego is perpetually improving on itself, these versions may not stay relevant too long. When I bought 10188 in 2013, I already had many minifigures that were better than the ones included.

That's like the new version of the Han Hoth blue/brown coat debate...

I bought the old DS in 2013 and feel fine with this one, if this is truly the info on the new one. If it was going to be awesome, I probably would have waited a couple years to pick it up. If it's going to suck, then I have the old one to fall back on - which I think is quite good for its time (2008). A blue astromech swapping in for the black one seems odd, but maybe all the other minifigures will have drastic updates. Almost everything in this list has been updated in some form recently in other sets. Grand Moff Tarkin - use updated Rebels head and hair, update uniform Imperial Officer - use updated version Imperial Navy Officer - update uniform Imperial astromech - apparently blue update Chewbacca - use updated version from 2014 ROTS set C-3PO - use updated version from 2013 Ewok Village R2-D2 - use updated version from 2013 Ewok Village Han Solo - use updated version from 2014 Cantina Han Solo (disguise) - use 2014 Cantina version and updated 2015 Slave 1 Stormtrooper Luke Skywalker (disguise) - 2011 Millenium Falcon and updated Slave 1 Stormtrooper Luke Skywalker (final duel) - use 2015 Final Duel or 2013 Ewok Village Luke Skywalker (Tatooine) - use 2011 Millenium Falcon Princess Leia - use 2011 Millenium Falcon Obi Wan Kenobi - use 2014 Cantina with hood Darth Vader - use 2015 Final Duel Death Star Gunner - update printing Death Star Droid - update printing Emperor's Royal Guard - use 2014 battlepack Emperor Palpatine - use 2015 Final Duel Stormtrooper - use 2015 Slave 1 Death Star Trooper- update printing I see very little brand new material. This may play out like a "best of" for main characters in recent years.

Isn't the astromech listed here the same as the black astromech in the old DS?

Shame Kenny Baker is gone. While he was not the most vocal or well-recognized member of the Star Wars cast, he was invaluable and important.

DC seems to want to make gritty realistic superhero movies and make Marvel-level money. The problem is Marvel movies aren't gritty realistic and are this more widely appreciated. DC can't do gritty well enough and shouldn't just copy Marvel, so what are they left with? They need to accept a specific level of success and plan accordingly.

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
HawkLord replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I don't think I've seen one anywhere in the US. -
I'm doubting there's going to be any big enough scene in RO that would warrant a spot in the new DS. Plus, given that this new DS will probably be on shelves for as long as the old DS was, it's banking a lot that RO is a success by putting a RO feature in the new DS. Safer to keep it all OT, since that's always a winner.

It's a "starfighter", it's name implies combat. Every other craft called starfighter in Star Wars has performed in combat. And as such a tiny ship, it has no jump-drive and would only be useful for very short travel, like a TIE.
-
No Yoda starfighter for me. I've never kept up with CW and it seems like Yoda zipping around in a starfighter is somewhat out of character. A transport ship, maybe, but a dedicated combat vehicle? Not for me.

Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion
HawkLord replied to Quicksilver's topic in LEGO Licensed
Hulk minifigure polybag would be considered comic based. -
I'd be really happy with an updated hair for Obi-Wan. I'd also be happy if Qui-Gon had the hair back look like the Elves from LOTR/Hobbit.

With respect, can a dialog at least be entertained in the event of posters who specifically provide multiple pieces of inaccurate information of this kind? Essentially, this is one way that threads get clogged and out of hand if people are posting blatant misinformation.
-
Your "source" is completely wrong, you've posted inaccurate info before, and you're trolling. Can we vote for a ban?

Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion
HawkLord replied to Quicksilver's topic in LEGO Licensed
I have no advanced knowledge, but I would wager that if it's an Iron Man polybag, than it'll be a repeat Iron Man design, just as the Cap A polybag was a repeat design. -
^^^ This x 100. The reboot needed to be successful for the franchise and while I'm not suggesting people don't speak their minds, the constant trolling worked to hurt the trolls. Those that wanted an all-make sequel are now hosed. I do feel bad for Paul Feig and the cast who did their best. This was gonna be a big movie break for some of them and it would have been nice if they got a fair chance right out of the gate.

Simply put - identify what your disposable income that you can reasonably and responsibly use for frivolous purchases is. Then create a list of Lego that you want. Then organize the list by release date and buy in order of what may be being discontinued soonest. It also helps to be proactive in identifying what will be available each wave. Lego is very good about providing lead times for most of their products, so if there's something you really want, you may have time to save.
-
I'll be sitting this wave out until I see the movie. The designs are not exciting me enough for a day one purchase, with the exception maybe being the AT-ST, since I don't have one. Otherwise, I need a good reason for owning any of them and maybe the movie will provide that.

Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion
HawkLord replied to Quicksilver's topic in LEGO Licensed
I think both should be. I was alittle worried Dr. Strange would do the same thing Ant-Man did last year and disappear quietly, but they're releasing Dr. Strange well in advance for the movie. And I'm sure they're not gonna be caught in a situation of having a set based on a movie and then not having enough of the set while the movie is out. -
Perfect Superhero Figures Ideas
HawkLord replied to LegoMcBoss2004's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
It reads like this is a wishlist of parts and colors that one would hope to have released at some point to complete these figures. Some parts currently exist, but some do not.- 4 replies
