  1. I have no experience with the company listed here, but between lego’s own minifigure displays and ones you can brick build or use with general display cases, there’s too many options to feel restricted to a company that’s not delivering on their product.
  2. Target has a number of sets on clearance. Picked up the Spidey Bridge for $70.
  3. B&N and TRU has Batman 2018 material - CMFs and sets in WA. TRU was picked clean on CMFs due to the buy two for $5 sale. Oddly B&N had some sets on 50% off before the holidays, but now after those same sets are at full price.
  4. I’m not a hoarder, scalper, or invester regarding Lego, so the Taj Mahal doesn’t bother me in the least. I hope it’s successful enough to draw Lego into re-releasing other past sets, including things even older to appeal to nostalgia - like ‘90s era Castle... With that said, if I did have a closet full of sealed sets, I’d really start thinking about offloading some now. Granted the Taj Mahal’s success still needs to be measured and if it tanks in sales maybe Lego would back-off the re-release concept, but the UCS MF is doing very well and I can easily see Lego dipping into other SW re-releases.
  5. I found the Ninjago CMF at target for $4.79. When did the price go up? I just bought Batman CMF at the same store at the $3.99 price.
  6. Fantastic review. With some hesitancy, I'm passing in this set primarily because I don't want to play the TRU mystery game of if the given store has it and the boxes are in good shape. I see this as almost generous on Lego's part to offer TRU such a great exclusive when I would bet Target and Walmart move more Lego than TRU.
  7. For current sets, I would say eBay is the best barometer for this data. Tracking which sets are selling for how much against their retail value and identifying any that stay within a certain margin/percentage. It's no secret that most Lego sets can be bought at a discount online, with eBay providing even deeper discounts with people making quick sales.
  8. Very unusual that there's no US listing for this on the TRU site. Maybe with the TRU bankruptcy, the US market doesn't need a sales push like this incentive to help Lego sales at TRU?
  9. Rumor has it they are the TRU bricktober for this year. Could be a "get free with XXX purchase" thing.
  10. Still the Scarif in my neck of the woods, on day two.
  11. Saw the Falcon on display and while it looks intense in size and build, something that will likely be anuilding event rather than just one-shot some random evening, there's just no way I have the space or money for it. Its an interesting price point, because I could handle the Deathstar at $400 due to it equaling a few $100+ sets in my mind. My thought became what could I get for my $400 - one amazing set or few smaller good sets. At $800, the same comparison becomes much harder. For that price I could get a whole wave easily or even crack into a new theme.
  12. Between all the grey bricks in the preview today and size, it's the MF.
  13. The question I would have is given Disney's interest in it's own streaming service and they're own action figure line (Star Wars Elite), could Disney one day develop their own brick-built product and abandon Lego? Disney is really able to do anything right now and their only recent product failure was Infinity, but that was plagued from the beginning.
  14. I would venture to say US sales number declines are in part because so much hype occurs for each movie that people are moving on from licensed set to licensed set too fast. Right now summer SW sets are shelfwarming because people are saving up for Force Friday when the new hotness drops. We're seeing the same thing in the action figure market with SW and Marvel - it's hard to move slow product when all slates have to be wiped for new stuff. There used to be more time for stuff to sell through because there wasn't always the next movie deadline.
  15. I'm hoping for an anniversary set for each of the major themes - City, Castle, Space, etc. Kinda like the small white-boxed promo minifigures and sets from the past couple years - Space for 2014, Castle for 2015, Pirates for 2016. It could be a great re-occurring theme of anniversary sets or reissues.
  16. I compare it to what Funko has done with rainbow Batman Pops. They just used the same mold and re-colored so it felt lazy and like a money-grab. At least here Lego is providing advanced printing and new accessories.
  17. But concept art doesn't count - only what actually ends up in the movie...
  18. I'm sure once we see Hulk in action in the Thor movie, people's opinions will change and this figure will be sought after. We'll be able to overlook that shade of blue.
  19. I thought the movie was great and handled the mythos of Batman almost better than some of the live-action stuff. The fact that DC/Warner could poke fun at themselves and Batman was refreshing. This CMF line also supports that concept. The character selection is goofy enough that it works and all the various Batsuits are very well done. I'm definitely more of a Marvel guy, but collecting variations of Iron Man suits and other costumes every movie gets alittle boring. At least here, I'm starting a Batsuit collection and it's both fun and engaging.
  20. Batman Forever is a pretty good movie and I thought Val Kilmer pulled off Bats and Bruce Wayne both equally well. This version of the Batmobile looks great. It's very sleek and detailed and looks like a rolling missile. Very well done!
  21. X-Men all day. Doctor Who. Ghostbusters. Lord of the Rings.
  22. Elf. I remember hunting those down back in the day. And the printing still stands up today.
  23. That lower lip is hilarious and appropriate. Very well done - it looks great.
  24. Palpatine's Areest would be a great set to update, as Anakin and Kit could both use a once over. Maybe even updated Jedi with robe printing instead of capes. On the flip side Invisible Hand with Grievous caped would be awesome.
  25. Printing on Boba Fett for the UCS Slave I was a win, here the extra printing is not so much.
