I'm not sure why you feel you need an explanation for the Serpentine pirate. Like the human, he's probably just someone who decided to join the crew. I've got to agree on you regarding the Stone Warrior-esque samurai helmet guy. That's a lovely bit of design there, as is the jagged sword.

Yeah, I was more thinking in the proper combiner sense rather than the clip-to-the-back sense.

Quite honestly, I suspect that while the result won't look like Kulta-Kal, Umarak the Destroyer will combine with the Beasts. Considering Umarak is probably at a $25-35 pricepoint and the Beasts at either $15 or $20 each, the result could be very impressive, since it would have $70-95 worth of parts. For reference, the Kardas Dragon's component sets hit the lower bound.

Do you think they'll do another building contest next year, this time for a golden Mask of Control? If they do, I bet it's going to be a "make a creature for Okoto" sort of thing.

Those set names seem like they're either fake or movie names, considering how many previous concepts are revisited (which seems like a strange move for LEGO). Since the latter has been ruled out, I'm going to be very skeptical of these. Also, while I love Jay's outfit even more and despite the fact that I like the new blade piece a lot, I've got to say that the face studs look rather silly, Nadhakan's colors clash horribly, and the junkyard aesthetic on Misfortune's Keep looks rather disappointing compared to the lovely craggy rock face look suggested by the prelims.

Okay, those are some of the awesomest villain designs LEGO has made. That lava pattern on Whiperella's tail looks like it'll translate excellently to physical form, although I wonder how they'll make her whips. Hopefully they won't just be the Indiana Jones ones again or just chains. And Flama's mad toothy grin is a cute touch. The possibility of a recolored Infearno flame is nice too. Really hope those two will shop up in sets. And those little lava ball spiders are just the most adorable thing ever. I want a hundred. This theme may take priority over Ninjago for me next year.

If we're getting dark blue, I'm going to start making MOCs with Ninjago's ghosts' color scheme in CCBS. It's too good a color scheme to waste.

I would like to have battle packs with maybe one generic squire minifigure, one generic blue-armored knight and a robo-horse for him, plus two of the lava goblin thingies and two generic demons, one the one with the orange magma fissure muscles, the other one of the mohawk mooks.

Star Wars Constraction 2016 Discussion

Wait, does Finn have light grey (rather than bley) upper leg bones? I mean, it's probably just a trick of the light, but they do seem to be quite a bit lighter than the Stormtrooper's. Plus, he seems to have lower limbs in dark brown, which could be very useful for MOCcing. -
Ugh. That technic mess Umarak's made of is disgusting-looking. But those glorious tr. apple green 6m bones... And why is there a random upper part of an XT4 torso sticking out of Tahu's behind? Nice to see Umarak has a tan for his head piece. Also, I like how they used "evil predator" in a picture that includes a heroic bird of prey. Personally, I'd have preferred Umarak's mask to be black. And the new blade still looks like yet another person stole Furno's blades. That's like the fourth time now. And why doesn't Ikir have eyes? Is it like a "blind seer" kind of thing?

Star Wars Constraction 2016 Discussion
DraikNova replied to Logan McOwen's topic in LEGO Action Figures
I like the recolors (oh the glorious orange and tan and the black and silver shoulder armor), but not much else. The head sculpts are creepy, the builds are unimpressive compared to last year's (even though I don't like Vader's build much, it's still somewhat more imposing looking than these, and I'm sure we can all agree that Grievous is simply the best) and the blasters look weirdly like the kind found with the kind of cheap stuff you get at a dollar store, The crossbar piece for the lightsaber looks nice though. Can definitely see that one being useful. -

To be fair, that would be a perfect excuse to get some more tan parts, and maybe some dark red ones as well. -
I like the idea of a necromancer with an army of undead (unpowered? Undeactivated? Unrusted? Unscrapped?) robots.
-
Yeah, this thing is pretty much perfect. It reminds me of this rather adorable drawing by GK733, if only due to that perfect solution for the abdomen. I think it would work best with more armor add-ons on the legs, to make it look like it has spiderfuzz. Also, how are you sure that that chain isn't just what LoSS spins as webbing?

I really hope that giant castleship ends up as a D2C at some point. To keep it reasonably in scale with Fortrex (compare Sensei Yang's temple as a set with the version in the show), it'd need to have a $200 price tag at least. But from the looks of it, it's one of the coolest spaceship designs LEGO has made. Seriously, tell me that main tower isn't a cockpit with little laser gun chelicerae.

The Fenris Wolf had an odd kind of charm. Ironically enough, I think it gave off the biomechanical vibe far better than any Bionicle set. Also, a fully gold C3PO with interchangeable limbs would be very nice. -
Djinn blades seem like a weird name (why the middle-eastern mythology all of a sudden?), although it makes a reasonable amount of sense considering the original djinn concepts (incredibly powerful spirits trapped by sorcerer). Also, Squiffy is the best name ever. The rotting fish piece sounds interesting. Nice to see that Jay's dragon has spring-loaded shooters. Also, turns out I was right about those disc shooters on Misfortune's keep.

Lego themes that we would like to happen
DraikNova replied to YellowCorvette's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I know very little about Warhammer 40k, but I'm pretty sure that the humans are the bad guys. Compared to Nurgle, at the very least. Seriously, though, if LEGO ever gets to the point where it considers Warhammer 40k acceptable material for a theme, I'm submitting a Mortasheen project to LEGO Ideas. The chances of that happening are about as low as can be.- 451 replies

Lego Nexo Knights TV Series Discussion
DraikNova replied to DuckBricks's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
Maybe the book just has a better sense of humor than Jestro and the whole "giving Jestro the power to summon monsters" thing is a prank. That'd be some cruel irony there. Seriously, why do I keep coming up with theories like this? -
Lego themes that we would like to happen
DraikNova replied to YellowCorvette's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'd rather have them have more alien good guys, while adding some more human bad guys as well. It gets kind of disturbing how much LEGO seems to hate having both good guy aliens and bad guy aliens. Ninjago is an evergreen theme now. It's lifetime is considered to be the same as City, i.e. practically unlimited. So it won't end anytime soon, to say the least.- 451 replies

Who is your favorite Ninjago villain?
DraikNova replied to Master_Data's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
It could also simply be that Chen is better at organisatory and similar business concerns, while at the same time making for a better public face for the company.
