  1. Really neat way of doing those lower story windows with the panel pieces or whatever those corners parts are called!
  2. Pumpkins! Moving on... that's a really nice tree, great job shaping it to not interfere with the roof but still look perfectly natural. Plus the colors are the perfect offset for the black. I think either the stone or the roof should have been less textured - both are great but too much together. But chicken coop is cute and the whole build is delightful!
  3. Some very fun categories! Hopefully I can find time to enter.
  4. So many of those rounded 1x2 plates! They make for a lovely flowing... whatd'yecallit. Those shields are so perfect for Kaliphlin too! Plus a cracked floor and of course, an elephant. What more could you ask from a MOC? Great job.
  5. Welcome back @Rconn0! Looking forward to seeing what you've got to show us!
  6. Those wall panels really look nice! Good idea to use some vines to brighten it up a bit too.
  7. Really cool job making the hut round and building those caves!
  8. Oh dear, you guys... It would be like Captain Argentum to get himself into a situation like that though...
  9. I love doing the floating floors, although it does take some patience. And yeah, but I was totally not using my medium dark flesh box somewhere else... Just showing solidarity! Captain Argentum agrees! Thanks Fraunces! I don't know, my problem is usually the time, not the inspiration...
  10. Slacking, yeah. It's a little hard to tell, because it'd be really hard to fall asleep like that, but he's taking a nap.
  11. Chapter IChapter IIChapter IIIChapter IVChapter V Chapter VI Chapter VII Chapter VIII Chapter IX Chapter X Chapter XI Chapter XII (you are here) Chapter XIII Captain Argentum is beginning to realize that preparing a fleet is no easy task. Sistership vig for Midas Touch.
  12. Chapter IChapter IIChapter IIIChapter IVChapter V Chapter VI Chapter VII Chapter VIII Chapter IX Chapter X Chapter XI (you are here) Chapter XII One day the wharf official walked by Captain Argentum as he was verifying the quality of a new barrel of apples. β€œHold up, young man!” Captain Argentum exclaimed. "You do things with paper around here right?" "Yes, Commodore." "Glad you happened to pass by. I just finished planning the names of these ships we're working on. You make sure they get christened properly, young man." β€œOfβ€”of course, Sir. Iβ€”I'm sure thatβ€”could I take the names down, sir? the name of the sistership of the Deuxieme Comete?” β€œLady Cora.” β€œAh... And the name of sistership of the Oscuridad?” β€œI'm going to call that Lady Cora too.” β€œLady Cora II, Sir? Mightn’t that be a bit confusing, Commodore?” β€œYoung man, I don’t believe in giving bureaucrats easy lives!” β€œYes Sir. What will you name the new La Raya Venenosa?” β€œName that one Lady Cora also.” β€œLady Cora Also. And the Long Beard II?” β€œAnother Lady Cora.” β€œI suppose it’s safe to assume that the sistership of Midas’ Touch will be named Lady Cora As Well.” β€œYoung man, for a bureaucrat, you are sharp.” This is a sistership build for the Long Beard. Of course the ships are not actually all going to be named Lady Cora. Anyway, I figured the Corries shouldn't be allowed to show Eslandola up with their food collection. How do you like my apples @Captain Dee? This floating cobblestone (i.e. there are tiles underneath, the stones are not attached) is like my teashop road with only one layer of round plates underneath. I wanted to satisfy myself that the plate + tile keep the look of depth you get with a brick and I think it does. I've also done a brick + a plate (which is great because you can incorporate sideways double cheese) and nothing underneath at all (gives a shallow look but beautifully easy to deconstruct). C&C welcome!
  13. The way we can ignore time in BoBS is beautiful. Thank you! Thanks Captain Dee! I was trying to recreate the Corry sigil there with the cannons.
  14. Thanks! I hadn't thought of low tide, that's an excellent explanation. And yes, of course I intentionally left brown out of the barrels because the dock was brown. I was totally not using all my brown barrels somewhere else! The goblet has a 1x1 round stud stuck into the top and that way the tile can attach. Thanks Fraunces! Good, glad it's been approved.
  15. This is very cool, lovely combination of colors! Outstanding job on the vegetation crawling over the rock - how are those attached? Is there a flower under each one sticking it to a stalk? This would be more than a just okay build for me.
  16. Very cool idea to present the process this way! I'm going to enjoy keeping up!
  17. Actually, *ahem* there's a really nice (non electric) guitar and also a sax, and a printed 3L bar that is a fair representative of a wood flute. But yes, there should be more instruments!
  18. Chapter IChapter IIChapter IIIChapter IVChapter V Chapter VI Chapter VII Chapter VIII Chapter IX Chapter X (you are here) Chapter XI Captain Argentum, having suitably revenged himself upon the Empire for the insult (aka handcuffs) put upon him, now gave his mind to the task the Empire of Eslandola had laid upon him. After the heavy losses the green fleet had endured the last MRCA, there was a great deal to be done toward a new fleet. Captain Argentum picked up a little stick on his way to the wharves and immediately began to get repairs and preparations underway. β€œAre you lubbers even Eslandian or are you Sea Rats in disguise?! Stop playing with your rubber duckies and get working!” I've been dying to use my rubber ducky! I also really enjoy green water (first time I try with dark green I think) and the cracked stone technique, so this was fun to build. @Garmadon nitpicked that the dock was unreasonably high, and I have to admit he has a point. However I imagine it extending much further so that it's actually something you can walk off of onto the gangplank of a ship and not a dock for rowboats. Anyway, here's a lower angle. This build is a sistership MOC for the Oscuridad.
  19. Thanks Captain Dee! I agree, that black hairpiece is really nice! Coincidence there. The selection of fancy ball dresses in the Brick Seas is fairly small it seems. Thanks! Thanks Bodi! A lobster floor would be quite interesting. I'm afraid I haven't got enough though.
  20. Chapter IChapter IIChapter IIIChapter IVChapter V Chapter VI Chapter VII Chapter VIII Chapter IX (you are here) Chapter X When Captain Argentum finally got hungry enough to lose his sense of bitter humiliation and eat the moldy porridge he had been given for breakfast, he began to cast about in his mind how he was going to reinstate himself in the good graces of Lady Cora. He needed to do something great and grand and glorious. Something that would remind her that she needed a real, manly Eslandian in her life and not a Corry puppy that crumpled under the first blow. Surely there was something tremendous needing to be done! He sat down and stared into his tin cup of stale water. About three hours and forty-nine minutes later, an envelope came floating in through the prison bars. Captain Argentum, who had been dreaming of a reinstated King Fernando praising him as his truest friend and new right-hand man, just barely saved the letter from the rats. Commodore Edward Argentum: In recognition of valuable and loyal service Captain Edward Argentum is hereby is promoted to Commodore of the Royal Eslandian Fleet. Report to [CLASSIFIED] the [CLASSIFIED] inst. of 620 BoBS for further instructions regarding the imminent [CLASSIFIED] expedition. Your services are requested without delay. On behalf of the Continental and Colonial Councils, William Guilder Commodore Argentum lost no time. Take that Corrington! And now to business! A little build to get the Captain out of prison. Truth be told, most of my grey bricks are tied up elsewhere so I wasn't able to build something quite as bit as I'd have liked. But I flatter myself there's an artistic value to simplicity.
  21. Very neat job on this, love the subtle curve of the wall! The rafter pieces complement that very well too.
  22. Can't wait to see the scene these chandeliers are going into!
  23. Welcome back - and fun build there!
  24. I held off on commenting until I could find time to read the story - a fun read, I especially liked your description of the "monster" and then his realization that it was just a fat chicken. It was certainly interesting enough that the length wasn't an issue, so I vote for keeping up the length of the stories in the future too. And since in this case at least it covers four builds, you could always split it up into four different topics. As for the builds, great job with the lightning and thunderclouds in the first one! The tan is a little bright for a thunderstorm scene; maybe if you just darkened it a little digitally you'd be able to better capture the atmosphere. Neat little cottage with some creative bushes, and I love how foamy the river is! Last but not least, a great little vig to end with, nice job varying the terrain height so we can really see what's going on at every level.
