Of course it was the butler... case closed. I like Herlock's living room, though the deer eyes are a bit creepy. But the lime is great, I'd never paint a wall of mine that color, but the red and the paper on the other side really tone it down! Lord Rushinthought also has a nice dining area, I love the decorations over the windows!

Really nice floor technique on this build! I also like what's going on with the walls and the windows, you packed a lot into a tight space.

It's really great how ornate this all is, I love the pillar section on the tower and all the touches of gold everywhere. -
I just love the way sand blue looks in the cobblestone! Do those exist IRL yet? If so, I might have to "invest" in some

Well, I build a ship every decade, more or less, but I will mentally file that tip away for future reference. -

Oh yes, I always love seeing mangroves! The water here looks very nice too with the variety of greens underneath.- 6 replies

The Adventures of Thomas Palmer, Chapter 3: HMS Carolina
Kai NRG replied to DeathCap's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
What a great ship, I love the detailed decks and the nicely curved bow. Intense story too, nice job bringing it to life with the minifigure posing! I also am impressed by your sails, they have a really good curve on them, are they made out of paper? I've never gotten my paper to look quite so natural! -

The pillar design here is really neat! I also love the subtle curves. -
That tiled courtyard is magnificent! I really love the scale and breadth of vegetation here as well, gives the whole build a great lush feel. Really nice roof technique as well, great use of new parts to advantage!

I immediately thought of Simon H's MOC when I saw this, and I don't know about you, but if anyone told me they thought of Simon H's stuff when they saw mine I'd take that as a big compliment, I definitely mean it that way. This is great, I love the nougat colors in the wall, the round window, the boats, and the bright flowers! It's a very cheerful build! And congrats on your new son!

Great textures on this, the curves on the tudor section are very cool and I love how steep the roof is!

Oh yes! I'm loving the caravans, gonna have to build a wagon like that sometime. Houses on stilts are so great too. The castle in the swamp is definitely more ornate than I would have expect, but that kind of fits the Kali vibe. Thanks so much! One day I will build some of these

These are all looking so good! Really making me want to build for Kaliphlin again How about catacombs/underground water vaults (I mean like this, not sure what to call it. I guess this is not something we've done in Kali so far, but it fits with the Byzantine aesthetic) medieval merchant caravan at an oasis medieval shepherds in tents bandits attacking a medieval merchant caravan through a mountain pass Then there is also the swampy area at the bottom of Kali, maybe castle in a swamp medieval fishermen in a swamp land

Sounds good. I can also host them on Bricksafe if you don't want them on your Flickr. I'll wait until we've run through other folks ideas here in case there's any we want to add. -
That would be hilarious. Well, if someone tells me I can enter @Peppermint_M I'll enter...

Love your technique with those little drawers, though I guess it wouldn't work in a world with gravity Great floor pattern too and overall an excellent MOC! -
This is very nice, great breakdown of the process. I like the way you made the water boil!

Think he should have brought a weapon with him Really nice job on the underbelly of the serpent (well, I would think using cheese slopes for an underbelly was a good idea... since I just did it... ) and also a great dynamic pose with the rocks scattering hither and yon! Also I love the bit of extra detail with the hard shaped base!! I didn't see that on Flickr, I do love the EB format that makes it easy to see all the pictures on one page.
-
I like your presentation a lot, with the round circle bases! Each of these figures is really good, I agree with Henjin, clever move on the yellow shirt! I also really like your milk bottle design!
-
Yikes, is it over already?! Somehow I had end of Jan in my head. Was fun to browse through the entries though I have to agree, too bad there weren't more!

Kai NRG replied to Aurore's topic in Guilds of Historica
It's a great update to a build that was already lovely--I like the addition of a stone path and the new variety of birds. This may be the first time I see the falcon used in a MOC... it's very cool, I need to get me one!
