  3. Drama, drama! We all love drama! With that out of my system, very nice waterfront Captain B! The colors are great and the tall, thin houses have a really unique look about them that has something distinctly Pontelli-ish!
  4. Great build Elositirion, I really like that watch tower and you've got a great collection of olive stalks!
  5. Thank you! I won't deny that this is better than my last... by quite a long shot too! Thanks Titus! Purple happens to be my favorite color, and what's more, it's by far the color I have the most 2x1 tiles in, so it was a no brainer from my point of view. And yeah, I know it should maybe have a third mast, but you can't think how much simpler two was! Thanks Ayrlego! The shape is indeed somewhat unique, but it's what the brickbending technique for the hull best lent itself too! I'm sure not the one who came up with that pipe in the first place, though I can't remember who did, but by all means get some use out of it!
  6. Thanks LJ! I've been wanting to use dark brown more for landscaping and have recently been able to do that a couple of times! Thank you! Thanks LordDan! I had wondered if those wings were really good for much, but they gave just the effect I wanted in this case! Thanks ZC!
  7. Thanks everyone for your comments! Thanks! We'll just have to wait and see... but I think I can promise that he'll have trouble staying away too long... How about... both? Thanks! Now there's a possibility I hadn't considered... it might be somewhat of a pain, but could improve the look! Thank you! Ah... yes, it does indeed have an outdoor look to it. The fact is, I've discovered that roofs in small vigs make good photography difficult by blocking of the light, especially with walls, and roofs in small vigs without walls are hard to support. This allows for light & no walls. From my point of view it's really meant to be a cutaway of the rafters, but if anyone wants to imagine it as an outdoor scene that's quite alright!
  8. Thanks Faladrin! Most of my dark tan slopes and wedges come from a few of last years Ninjago sets I believe... Yep, can't please everyone! Thank you Garmadon! I see the ETWC members are ganging up against me...
  9. Fantastic MOC Garmadon, that snow on top is really eye-catching and I love the interior! The round towers also look really smooth and the bright colors you've used for the landscape are great!
  10. Lovely micro! The bright colors make this so inviting - what a great use for lime green! I really like the color changes in the water as well as the tiny houses!
  11. Oops, yes, that's certainly what I meant!
  12. Gideon's facade looks marvelous like this, so does that really neat carriage! And I think the Blue Coats are the only ones that think King Fernando has gone a bit too far...
  13. I'll second that! Quite a quantity of silver you have there! Nice work on the bank facade as well!
  14. I sure don't blame Gov. Guilder for his concern! Loyal citizens of Eslandola must remember that loyalty to the laws comes before loyalty to the monarch! Really nice collection of troops there! I'm gonna have to do some Bricklinking one of these days... the quantity of Eslandian soldiers I can muster is really lamentable!
  15. And yet another "unexciting" run for me... a blessing in disguise, I dare say.
  16. Very nice ship Phadeout, I really like the smooth deck - looks like there's plenty of room to move about!
  17. Great build Garmadon! I think your jungle is every bit as good as mine (and that's quite a complement! ), nice job on the rockwork too and I love the subtle angle on the fort! The cannon shot effect looks really cool too! In other news, Guy Wyndzon is being driven almost insane by this mad act of the King! What possessed him?!?
  18. Didn't quite do that, but linked to it elsewhere (as you suggested). A new build from me!
  19. It was a brilliantly beautiful summer morning in Terreli. Back in his spacious bedroom, King Fernando was rubbing his hands in undisguised satisfaction. Today was the day! He thought with satisfaction over the events of the past few months. King Fernando Augusto VIII chuckled as he remembered the Trade Companies. Squabbling little merchants! And now they were all eager over this little fight in a jam jar with Mardier. Haha! Wouldn’t he show them! Big plans, big plans! Begone with diplomacy! Ah! Those Oleonese! They’d rue the day they had rejected him as King! * * * Far away, in a lush forest out in the New World, Captain Argentum picked his way through the undergrowth. He was followed by a small band of his own trusty crew, and two companies of well-trained Eslandian soldiers – one from the Royal Army itself, the other a band of picked marines. A grim smile overspread the Captain’s face as he thought of the work ahead of him. A fort of Oleonese soldiers, and an outpost right nearby! This would be a piece of cake! * * * Dickie Cal sighed contentedly as he lay back against the hard brick wall of the fort. He loved this post – out of sight of everyone – perfect for naps! (Spot him if you can.. and of course you can!) The next instant he was lost in the land of dreams. He dreamed strange, strange things. He dreamed of yells and shouts and screams. He dreamed of the clash of arms and the rolling of artillery. He dreamed that the cry was raised, “Contra Oleon! Contra Oleon!” And in a panicky voice, an Oleonder cried out, “The Eslando… Eslandi… Green People!” Dickie dreamed that the Oleonders, caught unprepared, made almost no resistance, but were forced to surrender. He dreamed that all the Oleonders, including himself, were being huddled together out in front of the fort. And it wasn’t until poor Dickie was being hustled down the broad pathway at the foot of the cliffs, an Eslandian soldier prodding him along, that he realized some of it, at least, hadn’t been a dream. ----- This build was a collaborative effort between myself and Garmadon, who will be posting his half shortly! Now for more pictures of my segment: I'm rather happy with how it turned out on the whole (particularly considering the fact that it was a four day build)... probably my first attempt at this sort of jungle and using all those colors was really fun! Captain Argentum, as you can see, exchanged his usual red suit for one with dashes of green, thinking that a bit of patriotism would suit the occasion. The corps of Eslandian marines picks its way down the path - eager for the fight, but well disciplined as always. The Oleon ambassador to Eslandola is sure that these soldiers were either actually disguised Eslandians, or else maybe disguised Corries. Don't pick quarrels with me - he was the one who said it! Captain Argentum's crew is quite eager! A couple of final shots of the fort: And now I wonder what the rest of Eslandola thinks of this piece of action on the part of the King? Was the High Council aware of his intentions? If not, will they tamely submit? And how about your average Eslandian citizen - not to mention the various Mayors, Governors, Trade Company leaders, and everyone else holding important positions? Big things are brewing! As for the build: this was really enjoyable (well, except when a chair fell on it during photography... setting it back up wasn't so much fun then...), got to try out a few new things and expand a bit on others! Comments are always appreciated!
  20. The Eslandian crown has an official statement which it hopes will be considered a satisfactory explanation.
  21. I agree with Elostirion, looks plenty sturdy at least, and who cares about aim! Really like the bit of rock you've got in the background as well!
  22. A small commerce (office) licensed in Weelond.
  23. Guy K. Wyndzon sat in an easy posture, with one elbow on the table supporting his head as he thumbed through the latest mail. Presently he yawned vociferously. It really was beginning to seem as though nothing ever happened around here! There was a sudden bustle at the door; Guy recognized the well-known thump of his Uncle’s staff, and the next instant heard his gruff tones saluting him. “Oh, I’m doing pretty well, Uncle. And yourself?” “Very poorly! Incredibly poorly! Insufferably poorly!” “Why, Uncle! Whatever has happened? You’ve never been sick a day in your life!” “Humph!” “Oh!” Guy laughed lightly. “I see what it is. Haven’t got a chance for any hangings in a while, have you?” “No, I haven’t, but that’s not the half of it!” “What else, Uncle? Let me think… ohh… you’ve not got anything against MAESTRO, I hope? They’ve been so active, you know, with this new settlement! Really, I think that all our disagreements are being worked out quite effectively! Haven’t I said it all along? – just show us a common foe, and we’ll be united tout suite!” Uncle frowned portentously. “I wish you wouldn’t use such barbarous words. They sound Oleonish!” Guy laughed. “Uncle, Uncle, surely you aren’t becoming a bigoted blue-hater, as you’ve so often called the worthy Captain Argentum!” Captain Argentum, of the Filo Morado, owns a tremendous reputation for antioleonism. “Most assuredly not.” “Well, to return to the point, if it’s not MAESTRO that’s bothering you, what is?” Another frown; Uncle’s voice was very stern as he rejoined, “How often must I tell you that I refuse to hear maestro capitalized any longer in my presence!” Guy raised his eyebrows in amused surprise. “Why, Uncle, however can you hear me capitalize MAES… maestro?” “There!” he retorted triumphantly. “Can’t you hear it yourself?” “Well… waiving the point for the present, I see that it really is MAES – um – tro – that’s bothering you. But whatever for, Uncle? Surely we’ve gotten over our petty disagreements, whatever they were. For my part, I can hardly even recall them!” “You can’t, can you?!?! Well! I’ll just marshal them before you, parade them right on, forward, turn about! They owe their existence solely to the bounty of the King, yet they treat it as a right! Not only that, but they have a right to claim their own islands! And they consider it an insult to have not yet been recognized! And…” “But in fact, Uncle, that one has quite vanished – you know that in my capacity as Secretary of State I decided that it was an immaterial point and might as well be handed over, so they’ve been recogni…” “Which is by far the worst of it! You countenance them! I’m ashamed of you, Sir! You, one of the merchant princes of the earth, to bring yourself down so far as to recognize a paltry group of little traders!” “Now there, Uncle, I really must take objection at that. Lord Damaximus is one of the…” “Not another word!” Uncle positively roared. “I won’t have his name mentioned in my presence!” “Really, Uncle… I can’t say you’re being quite reasonable about all this…” “Oh! You can’t say! And what of their studied insinuation that the MCTC works exclusively in its own interest without regards to the nation, and more than that, that we were spying upon them. Spying! As if we cared one jot or tittle about their doings! As if we would ever condescend to notice them in such a fashion!!!” Guy’s face flushed slightly. “Yes, yes, that was really too bad of them… but, I don’t think it was a studied insinuation, Uncle.” He went on with a twinkle in his eye, “You say that they’re a paltry group of little traders, and then you expect them to be expertly careful in speech?” “Humph! Well, at least, I’m glad you agree with me there.” “Nothing of the kind, Uncle! At least, I haven’t said anything of the kind, and don’t intend to say it. I have great respect for MAESTRO’s – my apologies, I won’t forget again – for maestro’s members, and though of course you can’t expect me to always agree with their business policy, that’s not my concern – I’ve quite enough to do with managing the MCTC! Besides, you’ve forgotten that all this is an old tale already! What of their excellent service in the building up of Fuerte Unido?” “What of that, indeed! We need none of this insanity of working together, I tell you! Each of us can do ten times as much separately.” “I could point out an inconsistency there, at least, Uncle – what need of the MCTC, in that case?” “Hold your peace, idle boy! I was about to say, I’m sick and tired of it all. We should be sending out our ships to attack Mardier, not building up little settlements in the hopes that they’ll be nice enough to let us stay. And we should be each paying attention to our own affairs, not meddling around in this sharing and working together business! And in proof of what I say, I’m off!” “Off!” cried Guy, for the first time really alarmed. “Off! You can’t mean that, of course, Uncle! Why, we’d all go to pieces without you, I’m sure, and wherever would you go?” “Go? I haven’t quite settled it yet – must talk it over with Elaine – but I tell you, I’ve got quite a mind to become an independent rover! And if you go to pieces, why, that’s just what I want!” “A independent rover! A Sea Rat?!? Now you are jesting, Uncle.” “Well, I believe I am, but I’m serious enough about going. I’ll not stay another day in this new palace of brotherly harmony you and your cronies in… in… maestro have set up. Good-bye!” And so saying, he sprang to his feet, seized his cane, and thumped out of the room. For several seconds Guy stood rooted to the floor with astonishment and consternation. “Going! Really going!” He ran his fingers through his unruly hair. Then he sprang up suddenly and dashed out after his Uncle. “Uncle, Uncle! When will I see you again?!?” “When you least expect it, I dare say, nephew,” he replied grimly. And with a parting handshake he was on his way. “Don’t you worry, Mister Guy, he’ll be back.” The servant chuckled a bit. “He’s like a bad penny, you know. Allers turnin’ up!” ---- Well, I'm glad to bring Uncle back for a bit even if it did result in his running off... he's been awfully quiet for a while! Also I wanted to try out another one of my rafter sort of roofs... I like the way they turn out, but C&C is welcome as always! Oh, and, last but not least, Guy's Uncle's sentiments are totally in character and do not agree with my own.
  24. As others have said, the way you managed those banana clusters is ingenious! I'm really loving the roof too, it has a great texture to it!
