Bregir has explained the status of the MRCA pretty well, and here is the thread where rule changes are logged as they are made.

@kahir88 - Kwatchi has a good point, once you get into the spirit of how things work it'll be easy to figure out what properties you want from there! A good way to get started with that would be to participate in the mini-challenges going on right now; for some of those you can license your builds as well! A property can really be just about anything land based - an office, or an inn, or a lumberyard, or a corn-field, or a printer's shop - all you have to do is find the right category when it comes to licensing it! And when it doubt, just ask!

AoM: Frostgate, Gatehouse phase II; Pt. 1.3
Kai NRG replied to Legofin2012's topic in Guilds of Historica
As SK said the curved wood looks fantastic! I also really like the light grey stone built up over the dark grey rock, and your snowscape is very nice as well! -
Very nice work on that house, the slight angles add a lot! Those trees look pretty neat too and the scarecrow is a nice touch!

I'm not sure I can believe that even King Fernando would stoop so low as to hire pirates to attack his own people... it must be an impersonation! Neat little vig, great incorporation of those colors - the dark red and purple go together really nicely, actually!

It's always great to see another build from you dG, and this one sure doesn't disappoint! I really like this way of doing interiors - only wish we got more pictures! The dragon design out front looks excellent, and this build has a great atmosphere - seems like a barracks that wouldn't really be such a bad place to live in!

Well I know I disappeared long ago, though I have always kept up with the PM channels and hoped to get back in (though never at the same weekly rate) next year. So anyhow I'm sure I've missed a lot, but I do like where this is headed and wanted to say that I'm not really sure the forms will be such a drawback - they're used like crazy in BoBS and probably haven't, on their own, scared prospective members away (though the combination of so many forms + a complicated game rule system might have kept some from joining). 'Course it's easier not to have to do anything, but one form will soon become a very easy routine. Points reset? Hmm... I'd better earn those last 40 credits towards my tag asap then! One thing that I would really like to see addressed is the judging system. This has already been brought up in different ways, but my particular beef with it is that it doesn't really provide incentive towards spending more time on a really good build. Why spend two weeks for a seven, when you could spend a couple hours on two different Saturdays for two fours? I dropped out because I was tired of doing just average builds - slapping together a few odd colors, a vehicle, and a bit of a story every Saturday was pretty much what it boiled down to - but couldn't find the incentive to spend more time on really good builds. Oh, on the side, I did get really busy with BoBS, not to mention real life... those probably had something to do with it, I'll admit...

The King’s Demise – Eslandola Mini-Challenge! On the 3rd of November, 616, King Fernando Augusto VIII put his hand to the ground breaking Magna Charta of Eslandola! This Magna Charta guarantees each citizen his rights, and also provides for the restructuring of the Eslandian government in accord with the will of the people. The signing took place, amid much acclaim, outside of Terreli's Council of Trade headquarters. As to how the King was induced to sign, well, that will be revealed shortly! Many Eslandians are wondering how the King takes this change. Is he not sorry, after all, to have the burden of government removed from his shoulders – since he keeps the title, and the palace too? Or is he fuming with rage, throwing one nightcap after another at his unfortunate servitors? What about Eslandola’s Trade Companies? Are they pleased with the decision to restructure the government, or were they hoping it would just be turned over to them, no questions asked? More importantly, what about you? What’s your reaction to this Magna Charta? Are you glad, sorry, excited, or bored stiff? Show us! Category I: King Fernando’s Reaction Let us know what King Fernando is doing about this! Is he moping over his breakfast in bed? Or is he dancing on the balcony? You tell us! Maximum size is 8x8, with limited overhang. Open to all BoBS members. You are not required to show the King in your build, but it is recommended. Get creative though – he can be hiding under the bed covers, with only a nightcap sticking out! Your build must include at least one brick in three out of these four colors: olive green, orange, dark red, and purple. LDD builds are permitted but will not be eligible for physical prizes. Due to the size of this category and its location in the Old World, these MOCs cannot be licensed. Deadline: November 30th. Prize: #41577 Mysto Garmadon and Kai NRG reserve the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value. Category II: The Trade Companies’ Reactions Show us what sort of reaction your Trade Company has to the current state of affairs. Are you plotting in secret, or throwing a magnificent celebration? If you don’t belong to a TC, get together with a group of in-character friends for your entry. Maximum size 256 studs (16x16) in any orientation, with limited overhang. Open to Eslandola’s members only. LDD builds are permitted but will not be eligible for physical prizes. Builds in this category may be licensed if they comply with the EGS rules. Deadline: November 30th. Prize: #70599 Cole’s Dragon Garmadon and Kai NRG reserve the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value. Category III: Your Sigfig's Reaction What do you think about the latest developments? Did it hit you like a bucket of cold water on a cold day? Or was it like a bucket of cold water on a hot day? Here’s your chance to let the world know! Spread the joy with a round of parties, or work off your anger fighting Mardierians! Are you rushing for Nova Terreli to discuss the nation's future, or are you going to take a vacation to Weelond where you can just chill out after the political stress of the last few months? Build it! Maximum size 1024 studs (32x32) in any orientation, with minimal overhang. Open to any BoBS member. LDD builds are permitted but will not be eligible for physical prizes. Builds in this category may be licensed if they comply with the EGS rules. Deadline: November 30th. Prize: #70601 Sky Shark Garmadon and Kai NRG reserve the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value. Garmadon and I will soon be setting up a discussion thread for Eslandian members to chime in with their ideas and suggestions as to the revamping of the political structure of New Eslandola! Happy building!

Never Look Back [Book II, Chapter V: Prelude, Part III]
Kai NRG replied to MassEditor's topic in Guilds of Historica
The fog and lighting effects on that are just epic! Neat idea with the wall of leaves... I kind of think it's maybe a little too dense, but still, you've created a nice ambiance especially with the light of the flames. Is there a light underneath? Intriguing story, the aching back is pretty funny too. -

Looks great to me! Thank you! -
Very nice build, looks really pretty on the black base and I agree that the cross-brace on the gate looks excellent!

Does this make it clear? (The parenthesis "not... build" is the recently added clarification.) If you build legally within your own faction’s territory, a fee is paid upfront to your faction for right to use the land. This fee is included in the license fee. If you build legally on another faction’s territory you will pay the same fee (not to your own faction, but to the faction in whose territory you build) but you may also be susceptible to a rent established by that faction. The government of the other faction is also able to seize your property (except in the case of forts, in which case a military engagement will have to be fought). That's under the first section in the properties post. Edit: Actually, I guess it doesn't quite explain the precise difference given the faction bonuses. The fact is, those were a subsequent addition. I'll have to think about how to word that... Edit II: Okay, maybe this is better: If you build legally within your own faction’s territory, a fee is paid upfront to your faction for right to use the land. This fee is included in the license fee. If you build legally on another faction’s territory you will pay the same fee a member of that faction would pay (not to your own faction, but to the faction in whose territory you build) but you may also be susceptible to a rent established by that faction. The government of the other faction is also able to seize your property (except in the case of forts, in which case a military engagement will have to be fought). In the case of faction bonuses, the above rules mean that license discounts are tied to the faction on whose land you build; yield bonuses, however, are tied to the faction to which the builder belongs. See below for more details on specific bonuses.

A great way to get in on the action without compromising yourself, eh? It's neat how many different aspects you've showed here. Some of those "beds" look less than comfy though...- 11 replies

[ESL] MCTC Warehouse in Mooreton Bay
Kai NRG replied to Capt Wolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Very nice warehouse Capt Wolf, the dark tan profile bricks work really well with the light grey and the green shutters! Nice interior as well, I like how you included a little office on top! The second floor doors without a balcony are actually pretty cool.- 10 replies

We've been working on the new system in the Court and I think you guys are gonna like what's we've got so far, but yes, it will take a bit of time. I'd like to be able to say that we'll be able to launch it before the end of this month, but I really can't be sure of that so I'd better not make promises!

[ESL] Guesthouse, Montario, Nellisa
Kai NRG replied to Elostirion's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
That palm tree with pink underlying the green really catches the eye! So does the red roof, good choice of colors! -
I'll say! haha Well, they could perhaps be scaled down for that purpose - though it might become hard to see some of the smaller MOCs in that case. I'll see how it looks on each poster individually first however. I was (and am) considering doing a differently formatted poster to provide sort of an overview of the guilds - if I do that, the GoH emblem certainly should go on it!

You guys are welcome to do that, but it's not something I'm gonna be able to pull off anytime soon! @ZCerberus - Thanks though it would have been nice to have those a month ago. Might try to work some of them in (I think a couple are already there actually, including Abyssian). And the coming soons look splendid... can't wait for more pics!!
