he's a Law School graduate and a well respected well known attorney who owns his own famous law practice in NYC. Ben Affleck was probably about the right age. He should be substantially older than spider-man. At least 30.

Sadly the Attack Shuttle is a Clone Wars animated series subject. Unless it shows up again in Rebels (Which I would not count out, it would be easy for them to reuse art assets and give it Empire colors) , I don't think we will be seeing it as a regular Lego set anytime soon. I think Lego and the other toymakers are done with TCW for a bit.

I think it's more that the bulk of the Phantom slides inside the Ghost and takes up what would otherwise be interior play set space.

I'm thinking not a lot of PT subjects will be on the short term horizon. Hasbro has given the impression that the focus will be OT at least until they know what direction the new stuff is taking. I am sure Lego has the same directions from Lucasfilms. I also can't see them giving TRU the Millenium Falcon as a store exclusive. At least not as a large minifig scale set. We will probably see a new MF next year to tie directly into episode VII. My bet is it will be a flagship set next summer. The new imperial guards make me think a new system scale Imperial shuttle may be in the works somewhere. If we do see a PT subject it would probably be something big and spectacular and clone centric, to say goodbye to the clones for a little bit. Maybe a new Dropship?

They are getting much better at including female figs, and giving them more interesting roles. But the truth still is that the core of the "action themes" audience is meant to be young boys. You don't tend to see many of the female figs in the smaller cheaper sets. In Chima the most common female is Eris who actually got a $35 set and a spinner. All of the others were in larger clan centerpiece sets. The Gorilla mech, The croc boat, etc. Ninjago same patern. Nya got a spinner or two, and a moderate $30+ set. Everywhere else she or Pixel has appeared have been more expensive multi minifig sets. This is getting better. I think MF attracted a far broader female audience than they were expecting. Ultra Agents looks to have a few distinct female characters. But things aren't there yet. I think the only sets where the female character was the sole lead standalone hero were the Ann Lee Mummy set and the Samurai Mech. (I can't remember the figs in the Eris Interceptor? Was Lion boy in it with her?) Figure the Action themes will be the last to leave the boys club approach.

The new $20 Doc Oc bank truck heist set has both the white string and the web piece. Lego has certain patterns and habits they use when designing themes or waves. A similar basic breakdown can be used for a number of non comic themes as well. It has nothing to do with Marvel. You could probably Analyze Star Wars or Harry Potter etc and come to similar results. They target certain price points and a certain degree of play value at a given price point.

Why? Lets be honest with ourselves, look at actual history, and not simply jump on the "Disney is Evil" bandwagon. Lucas, Marvel and the Muppets all sold out to Disney for a reason. And that reason was Disney actually has a pretty good history of preserving legacies and characters and building off of them. Of the major studios and Hollywood types Disney is the least likely to simply "reboot" something in a morass of corporate marketing drivel. They live on the nostalgic edge, and they thrive there. Heck from what we have heard of the new Star Wars project it seems that Disney is if anything trying too hard to give us what we want and love from the past. Possibly to the detriment of giving us something truly new. Full sized MF set. It was just announced that Peter Mayhew is back in the furry suit and is filming. Their initial instructions specified a return to a more practical effects centric FX production style. So I am not sure what we are all fearing from Disney? Yeah, as far as Lego is concerned Disney will set the general marketing direction for the line. But Lucasfilms has a long history of doing that across all of their toy lines. Ever notice how it all lines up every year between Lego, Hasbro, etc. With the same basic mastheads and themes? We haven't had any issues with this in the past, why would we have them going forward? Yes we will see a surge of Rebels subjects followed by a huge push for Ep VII, but I think we can pretty well predict those. Heck if we were running Lego we would be doing that same thing ourselves. It's just good productive business sense to maximize the product connection to the current movie where possible. Do we all really want Lego to be stupid or inept at business? We like Lego in large part because they are smart and good at what they do. Smart business people tend to be very very good at delivering the product their customers want.

And it's quite possible that he will be.

Sadly I don't think we will ever see a Wasp solo movie. Even with Evangeline Lily in the role.

My take on that end credits scene. It just confirmed something that has been suspected since Thor the Dark World, and explained something that always seemed a plot hole in Avengers Oh and on an unrelated note. Did anyone else catch the news that Matt Gerald has been cast to play "a" villain in Ant-Man. Now what makes this kind of interesting is we have seen him in the MCU before. Possible spoiler for Ant Man, maybe... Plus a few references to Cap WS.

Nostalgia aside I think the benefits of the numbered bags far outweigh that nostalgic fun feeling of sorting through a massive pile. I don't think they increase the speed of the build, beyond they allow you to build more efficiently in a smaller space. This can be huge for both kids and AFOLs. Just being able to have greater control of your workspace, and putting fewer parts bouncing around loosely at a time, vastly minimizes lost parts, or the need to do your building in places that infringe on other family members.

LEGO® CUUSOO 空想 - Turn your model wishes into reality
Faefrost replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Sadly, my suspicion is, under the new rules it will barely get a review. It was the second similar same subject project to reach 10k in the same review period. The new "ghostbusters" rule seems to imply that it is the first in that gets the review. -
I'm surprised they stuck with that same old narrow cockpit on the B wing? It would have looked much better with the printed Jedi Interceptor canopy. That alone might have been enough to overcome some other flaws.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Faefrost replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
While smaller than either of those you have Pet Shop and Parisian Restaurant are so incredibly detailed that they are incredibly fun builds, the PR in particular is probably the most eye catching of all the Modulars. The Cinema has a fantastic outside but the interior needs some extra work and detailing. (I swear one of these days I am going to get around to installing an old Android phone in in place of the screen.) The only exception is if you find Fire Brigade at a reasonable or close to list price get it immediately. (Although unlikely you will find this in a Lego store.) -
Is any one else looking forward to episode VII and Rebels, just in the hopes of seeing a renewed and broader color pallet in the SW sets? Also have we heard any rumors about possible merchant exclusives with the Summer wave? Not that I could imagine what those could be? (A Hoth centric AT-ST to go with the AT-AT would be neat.) have we had any hints like numbers that don't match up, etc?
-
Why are we assuming that the game designs are what we will see in the plastic? We certainly have never really seen that in either LotR, Marvel or Batman2? Yeah some stuff matched up. Other things were not even close. There is no way to really predict which way it will go, beyond if it looks to good, chances are its in game only.

$63 is a fantastic price for that set. Just on part and fig value alone.

I would lead more towards Sensei Wu. As much as we AFOLs would prefer a new Nya, the actual core target market for the book is still at that "girls are yucky" stage of like. They would look at the girl fig offered and say "mom get me the Batman book instead". This is also why Lego tends to mostly sneak the female figs in in the larger action theme sets that have deeper pools of figures. The only low cost single hero sets I remember based on the female hero have been the MF mummy chariot (Ann Lee) Nya's Spinners and the Eris Speedorz and Eagle Legend Beast. OK the Samurai mech set too, but the point was the girl was in disguise there. even then a certain 7 year old male of my acquaintance had to do careful calculations of how much extra cool stuff was packed in to make up for getting the girl. Ie he also gets a gitd skeletal horse, or Eris's cool armor, weapons and wings, etc. Yes sometimes the world really does work differently from how we are told it should.

Oh and regarding Storms hair. I know some grumble because she does not have the tiara headpiece. But thinking on it, we are much better this way. Just getting that common and versatile hair piece in white opens so many more options. Clea? Black Cat? Songbird (ok with a pink stripe that they are good at)? Hepzibah? Dagger? And really Storm does not wear the headpiece a lot. Many versions of her are without it, including the classic 90's cartoon that seems to be where they are pulling from. Night crawlers tail if they ever do him, could probably simply be back printing. A molded tail would probably be more trouble than it would be worth for him. Too thin to mold well and would get in the way of play.

I love them all. The grey Drax is a little jarring at first, as in the minimal use of actual green on Gamora. I both love and hate the Nova helmet. But at least we have one that is a little more traditional already.

It releases on video mid May? It should be available for streaming 2 weeks before that. I think it's pretty much released wherever it's going to, hasn't it?

It used a couple million real bricks for a few specific scenes.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Faefrost replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
One other thing to keep in mind. If TH is retiring, it has a good number of bricks in unique colors. Particularly the dark orange. -
To be fair, those weren't actually official Sanrio items. They came from a weird sublicensor who had gone well outside the terms of their contract, and Sanrio did land on them hard as soon as they found out about it. It would be kind of like if the good folks over at DK suddenly decided to publish a "Lego Kama Sutra" all on their own.

The LEGO Movie Sets News and Discussion
Faefrost replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
The three remaining TLM sets are scheduled to release alongside the DVD/BluRay release of the movie. I think the only D2C or exclusive one is the Sea Cow.- 2,626 replies
