  1. Actually no. In the now cannon TCW they were specifically not Sith, and accessed the Force via ways very different from Sith and Jedi. The common element in all is the force. But there have been some implications that there are other users beyond the extremes held by the Jedi and the Sith. Heck by the end of TCW we started to see two main characters, one Jedi and one more or less Sith walk away and start to follow more balanced paths.
  2. I think Moviebob said it best way back in his review of the first Captain America Movie. "The Red Skull and Hydra were kicked out of the Nazi's... For being too evil. Just think on that for a minute."
  3. Great sculpture. I love the eyes. What paint did you use and how well does it adhere to the bricks?
  4. I swear they did not have women like that when we were growing up! (Ah! Who am I kidding. We wouldn't have noticed back then if we did.)
  5. There are a few sets 50% off (sand skiff, pre Vizla fighter and Malevolence), a few 20% off (mostly magnets and planets and such) and a lot 10% off. No D2C or UCS sets reported discounted this year.
  6. From Marvel an Iron Monger and IM Mark 1 would be cool. From DC? A Keaton/Burton Batmobile. Otherwise everything else could easily be covered in more generic "non movie specific" sets. Something like Hulk smacking a HumVee or the recent Captain America or Spider-Man sets. I think Minifigs mostly look a little better when leaning more towards comic or animated costumes and colors.
  7. That's probably as close to perfect as we will get with a CuuSoo set. Yeah it lost the pop of the chrome parts, but I don't thing any of us really expected them in the production set. The front and rear fenders are a bit different. Not bad, but different. The front on the production model lacks Brent's curves, but it looks like they added some stability and a little more shaping to the sides of the hood. A fair compromise. The only mild disappointment is the rear fenders are much more pronounced in Brent's prototype. Can't really tell the reasons for the change from the pics though. The new approach still looks very good. Just not as good. Some minor changes to the greebling. Probably minor adjustments from available parts, part budget adjustments, etc. Marco's actually improved the details on the wheels, and it really adds to the Cadillac impression. The size and footprint of the model looks to be virtually the same as the prototype. Overall it enhances my impression of the fantastic job Brent Waller did on the prototype. Looking at the two side by side it is literally like looking at an actual Lego designers refined final prototype model next to the actual production model. I think the designers were able to skip over most of the pro type and initial design phases and jump straight into production refinement almost immediately. That's probably why it was able to jump ahead of the Exosuit in the queue. Brent gave them that good of a design to begin with. It was an actual viable set prototype and not simply a MOC. And that my friends is an impressive feat.
  8. I noticed that when I selected Relevance a search box popped up in the upper left. I am not quite sure how it works, but it seems to be a way to do some sort of targeted search. I was also impressed that you can now simply use a pull down to select common tags as a filter. I agree. It was the best way to spot interesting projects that weren't new in the past few days. Just glance at the activity feed. The new activity feed is pretty worthless. I really don't care as much about who updated their projects. (Honestly if you didn't sell me with your initial published pitch. Chances are updating it won't help much.)
  9. We had a pretty good clue between the PC and PR. Not to long before the PC's release fans had asked Jaime for a clue about the next Modular. His response involved soup, and was a pretty clear hint about a restaurant. People were surprised because the next was the Cinema, then the Restaurant. The takeaway is most likely that the PR was in development while the PC was in production. It probably takes around 18 months to go from idea to store shelves, so there is most likely some points of overlap between them in the overall schedule. At this point they probably know what the next two will be (assuming that our beloved Modulars remain on a steady and ongoing production schedule.)
  10. The Creator and Creator Expert lines are not locked in at a specific scale like "system" sets. Although there are normally some system scaled creator sets each release cycle such as the Modulars. The Mixer is minifig or system scale. However the truck is a bit wide to blend smoothly with vehicles from the City line, which are normally limited to 4,6 or 8 studs wide. The trucks width falls more in line with vehicles seen in other system themes such as Action where 10 or even 12 stud wide trucks are not uncommon.
  11. Honestly? It seems real unpredictable. I think they only do one main production run of each, for the specific year they release, and when they sell out they sell out. Some lasted almost 3 years. But the Winter Village Cottage was sold out mid Christmas the year after it was released. I would not count on the Market lasting too long.
  12. It's all about the type of accuracy or model you are looking for. The old one has some better effects from the smooth sides, so a quick glance it looks better in some ways. The new one is actually a much more accurate model and far more closely captures the fairly complex angles and proportions of the studio model. Especially with those angle changes in the front. as far as the studs? it's Lego. studs are sort of part of it. And honestly I find UCS models tend to have a much greater amount of exposed studs than many system playsets.
  13. Your Lego ID is one you use on Lego.com to shop, order, play games check your VIP points etc. there is a button on the front page to merge your CuuSoo account with your Lego ID so it all ties together. When I clicked it it found my Lego ID cached in my browser and merged them seemlessly. I assume if you don't have a Lego ID it will prompt you to create one?
  14. That's a sweet MOC. I've never actually seen a Quint that is full length with the dual rear axels. I've only ever encountered the ones on the shorter wheelbases designed for tight city streets. The details on yours look perfect. From the colors I am going to guess Chicago as the source inspiration? I know they run a lot of Quints and have the black cab roof.
  15. Thinking on it, between both Abrams Star Trek movies... There was not one named female character that was not shown In Her underwear.
  16. I would imagine the minions would use a design not unlike Spongebob. Maybe with a forward facing stud or two so you can swap around faces and eye layouts? Depends on what you count as movies, vs animated properties? They have had tons of animated IP's. Avatar, Ben10, TMNT etc. but I think only Disney and Pixar would count as Theatrical release movies. Maybe Spongebob, as one of those sets featured the Burger Car from the movie?
  17. I wonder if the Ecto-1 and Exosuit will come out with CuuSoo or Ideas labeling on the boxes?
  18. It's less MoS specifically and more Zack Snyder's overall body of work. There are certain things he goes for, and after a number of movies they start to stick out. He dances between a bit of the heavy handed homoerotica at times (yeah just look at the MoS suit, and that's mild for Zack, see: 300) or he amps up the more classic fetish nature of things. Nothing overtly sexual. But just a really strong fetishy undercurrent. Watchmen and Suckerpunch were not really one offs with him. They do reflect his overall proclivities. Granted you never know. In this regard he actually kind of matches up disturbingly well with Wonder Woman creator Dr. William Marston. And yeah Lois Lane is actually Snyders least fetishy female character. She's also pretty much bland expository woman. Like he didn't know what to do with her. Whereas Faorra? Yeah that's scoring all the Snyder hallmarks. She's a leather and latex wearing dominatrix. Don't get me wrong. Superheroes by nature trend a bit towards fetishy at the best of times. Look at how often it seems to be a subcurrent in various Batman incarnations. But I just can't get past the feeling that Zack is a bit too into this aspect of his work.
  19. This always bothers me. People so fixate on these sets as a single scene or moment in time. Whereas Lego tends to design them a bit broader. Case in point. Luke does have the Lightsaber for his Second Encounter with this Sandcrawler.
  20. I just keep the boxes from a few larger D2C sets like the Modulars and UCS sets. I don't have the storage space for others.
  21. I'm not seeing anything at that link that even closely ties to Lego or CuuSoo? Some sort of Gerbil in a cage? Am I missing something?
  22. Very bad accident that required tons of surgery to rebuild his minifig face?
  23. Many of these are literally clone brand knock offs of people's customs that have been published on the Internet.
  24. The problem with Tron is the last movie REALLY stunk on the toy shelves. They had tons of overblown light up Tron toys. Light cycles, really ugly creepy action figures with weird back projected faces, etc. they all got dumped at feel discount. You can still find tons of them in $1 stores worldwide. Lego is not gonna jump on that subject without some clear unequivocal change in demand.
  25. Oh goody. Warner Brothers just announced the director for Justice League. It's Zachary Snyder. So expect a dark, violent slow motion and way too sexually fetishized take on JL.
