The selections have definitely changed, and seem more geared for a kid to be able to build something. A much wider variety of wheels and windshields. Plates etc. with suggestions for pieces that would be good for City or Star Wars type builds. The parts in the bins near me seemed a little more cohesive. More "unusual but useful" and less "exotic but cool types".

What Marvel/DC Characters Will NEVER Get Minifigures?
Faefrost replied to Suspsy's topic in LEGO Licensed
We probably want to kind of differentiate between characters we will never see made, just because they are a bit obscure, such as some of Spider-Mans deep and silly pool of villains, vs characters that we will be unlikely to see made because of policy reasons. As an example we will probably not see a Marvel Two Gun Kid in a set. Just obscure and kind of hard to make work. A Western hero in a Super Hero set. But no explicit policy against him. (Beyond would they use the LR pistols in a more modern SH set?) Whereas a character like The Punisher, while well known and iconic, would probably be the subject of much discussion at Lego. (And yes I know they made Deadpool. And Deadpool has had some very dark bloody books. But ultimately Deadpool is mostly known for the comedy insanity. Whereas The Punisher is all about the killing and violence. The dark mirror that the heroes are held up to.) -
Where do you see The LEGO Group in the future?
Faefrost replied to Creatorman's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Nowhere close at the consumer level. Obviously the higher end machines will come close. Lego uses them for prototyping. But I can't see us having instant home replicators for Lego any time soon. -
I'm guessing he means AurraSing? http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?M=sw306

It's actually from an occasionally deleted scene in RotJ. Before going to Jabba's, Luke goes to Obi Wan's and finds the materials to build his new lightsaber. I'm sure a few of the early novels used the same trick.

Wasn't the "Arrow" version of Green Arrow an SDCC fig from a few years ago? -

I was going to say "Detective Chimp" ... But then who would have ever thought we would see "Rocket Raccoon"? -
5 OT movies. It is skipped completely in Empire.

If they just use Tatooine as a starting point I have no issues with. Bring the fans back with something warm and familiar. Start the mystery there. Maybe have Luke searching for something in the ruins of Obi Wan's Hut? Some long lost piece of Jedi lore? There can be a lot of thematic good to be had in returning to the beginning for the start of a new journey. So long as it is just that, and it is done well.

The history of SHIELD in the comics? Oh dear. I fear you do not realize just how convulsed and brain hurting a question it is that you are asking. At it's most basic it was a Cold War international Agency dedicated to world security, not too far removed from what is seen in the movie. Sgt Nick Fury and his Howling Commando's were instrumental early recruits and eventually formed much of the leadership backbone. It's Soviet sponsored counterpart was HYDRA (which in the comics has no or limited connection to and a deep enmity for Nazi's for the most part. And before anyone brings up Strucker, he is Soviet era East German.) Then there are the convoluted and conflicting Secret histories. Some involving Zodiac, others going back to Leonardo DaVinci. These are where we get into the whole idea of SHIELD and HYDRA being literally the same thing run by the same people. Very heavy Illuminati type overtones. Very strange. (Don't ask me to explain these all. They start to make my brain hurt.)

ReBrick "Name the Ship" Contest - and the WINNER IS...
Faefrost replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
Yes, several examples. One from Pirates in fact. 10210 Imperial Flagship. 10223 Kingdoms Joust. 10213 Space Shuttle could be considered a one off from the City Space line, etc. some of the Trains like 10194 Emerald Express or 10233 Horizon Express. -
I think they did too much at once and tried to do it as a regular retail release. Legends would probably work if they stuck to the classic Flagship sets and Limited it to one or two D2C limited release sets per year. Plus it might do a little better in today's environment. We can always dream of a new release of the Skulls Eye Schooner or such. Sadly after the last try it probably will not happen :(

Has Kai and Nya's mother or Cole's mother ever been mentioned? It's assumed that Kai and Nya's Mom is dead and they are orphans running the Blacksmith. (A reasonable assumption could be made that Cole's Mom is simply out of the picture following "lifestyle differences" with his Dad? If you will.)

TCW ending also had less to do with an overall decision, and more to do with the Disney XD channel not wanting to take on a 6 year old show that was nearing its end of life, and instead wishing for a new show to kick off Disney Star Wars on TV.

I thought she was an A Wing pilot? And didn't we get a fog of her in the recent A Wing?

Faefrost replied to Creatorman's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I can easily see them buying Hasbro outright. -
I think we will be left to mod the spikes onto them ourselves. I can't see Lego thinking it would be a good idea to instruct us to make flick fires pointier. "Hey billy look at this" "Ow! My eye!" Granted those new spring missiles aren't exactly the height of ocular safety. Although I suspect most of them launch themselves into vast uncharted corners of the room never to be seen or heard from again, within minutes of unpacking.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Faefrost replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I think it is simply that the next creator expert set will be some sort of carnival ride. It probably has noting to do with the "modular" sub theme. Reading Just2Goods somewhat badly translated description over in the general thread it sounds like this set will be a minifig scale traveling fair or carnival ride. So a whirly-go-pukey type spinning ride that folds up into a truck the way the real ones do. -
List the Female Minifigure Leaders
Faefrost replied to Mister Phes's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I don't think there has been a clearly identified protagonist leader in any of the Space factions or themes since the Chief on Ice Planet. Some have been named but I don't think the ranks have been well defined. Castle has been pretty universally King and Queen/Wife, if just going by the crowns. Even the Troll faction. -

They are actually allowing outside submissions like this. That is both wonderful and utterly remarkable. But I'm not going to complain. Lets have at it. -
Design a NEW LEGO Pirates Sub-Theme - Ambassador Project - Overview
Faefrost replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
Just to play Devils Advocate, I would suggest being very very careful with this sort of thing. These sorts of forums and communities have enjoyed participation from Lego designers and Staff. This sort of thing might unintentionally restrict that. Lego operates like most manufacturing businesses. Lego designers can not come in contact or read unsolicited proposals like this. -
He is Groot! I am not sure the question completely applies? And yeah he is more than a bit "Ent'ish"

That second end credits scene confused my wife and a few friends. Here's the deal with it. As I said above. I don't think they would do that unless they also recast the Winter Soldier role. Sebastion Stan was great in this movie. He was fairly un memorable in CA First Avenger. He's good. He did the job he was asked. But I doubt they will use him to front the CA or Avengers franchises. If Scarlett Johansen gets her Black Widow movie I bet we will see him in it.

Some response. Spoilers on who these characters are, and where they come from.
