And here it is in my city: Had to change the back and roof of the city pizza to make access easier
-
Here's my modularized take on the following sets: construction site 7633, toys r us 7848 and town square 60026 to make a mini commercial strip to put in the modular part of my city. close up of the city pizza from the town square set; added dark green bricks to make the city pizza more vibrant, made the indoor area bigger and put a display counter for breads and desserts by the cash counter, moved the menu similar to fast food displays at the back wall, will be putting a standing room table in front also. close up of the construction site; will put the rest of the construction pieces once i put the strip in my city, for now building is finished constructing but still looking for tenants. be displaying it under construction though. close up of the bike shop; still stock, waiting for my white pick a brick orders to make it enclosed, so now its in between two fully walled sets to cover the holes in the wall. close up of toys r us; unfortunately I cannibalised the truck to be able to make this building. top view showing all floors top view showing second floor top view showing roof corner view be posting pics of the strip placed in my city soon. thinking of changing the city pizza's access as its so hard to move minifigs inside the shop. as its a work in progress, comments and suggestions for improvements are welcome, thanks

Review Review: 21103 Back To The Future Time Machine
melbs replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Looking at the side by side pictures of the orig cuusoo and the final release, my vote is the final release, by a wide margin. Just is better looking. Buying 3 sets so I can display all three versions on my desk. Great review by the way Rufus- 207 replies

^ contrary to your analysis, road plates are abundant here in asia. So I don't think that's the determining factor for new road plates. Like galaxy explorer, I want lego to sell the same plate in one pack, or just sell them individually like the blue and green plates. At any case, I would welcome a new road plate design. The progressive evolution is a wider road, hoping for a three/four lane road plate in the future instead of a more wider two lane road plate.

that's one hella EXPENSIVE collection you got there! AMAZING city!

re-release would be sweet! for the price of a cafe corner brand new sealed right now, would equate to 10 modular sets, that's a lot of dough for lego to be getting instead of resellers. i'd gladly sign for a petition of a retro!
-
I think bottom line it's just profit that dictates retro-ing for lego, in sneakers they keep retro-ing air Jordans since it sells better than newly released other nike/air jordan models. Having lego tried it before and failed, hard to see them doing it again given the limited market for modulars. Though I too wish they retro the cc and gg, haha

An inverse corner would be great I too don't mind 2 modulars per year, the more choices the better. Though for sure I won't be able to get all since its expensive, at least there's more choices and picking to get what I want more, than the current pace which makes me just get the one that will be released since I have no choice

great mod, i like your sliding feature similar to real flat beds. however despite the sliding function of real flatbeds and the hinged rear end, they still use extended planks they mount manually especially for lowered vehicles. so on my modded flat bed, i still added some removable planks just in case flat bed will tow a lowered vehicle. if you could add that, it'd be perfect.

My only suggestion is to put your city on the floor so you're not limited to a narrow layout That way I would make a small gated village with all your creator houses on one side of the city then line up the modulars to showcase them like how lego does on the other side of the city. Add a police station, park, and some more retail buildings in between... But if you can't, it's good as it is

Opened the town hall first then grand emporium then petshop then fire brigade. Still waiting for my palace cinema to arrive All builds are equally fun, especially that me and my wife would build them together. Just go with what you feel would look best in your studio first. I did town hall first since I wanted to do a city layout and any city should start with its town hall.

great modular fire theme you got there! very cool!

I changed the layout of my city once more to this: Separated by train tracks is the modular/urban on left side of town: The Flag Strip found just beside the only road that leads to uptown. The entrance to the oval road that houses the town's main department store, petshop... middle park and tennis court... And of course, gov't row, the fire station, town hall and soon to rise on the left of town hall the police station. The train station that separates the two sides of town: And the city/creator houses/rural on the right side of town:

Thanks for all the comments guys! It's just a humble collection and layout. Next up will be the details of the city, waiting for my order and will be tiling up the sidewalks and putting more trees and a pool and some bars by the beach to complete the boracay look
-
I get you, in fact this was my earlier layout: separated the modulars/down town from the beach/suburban/houses and port its just too massive that i could not walk around the room and the kids could not play with it. i actually left spaces for future sets to be incorporated in the old layout.

like a normal pf train, from motor one wire to IR receiver and one wire to battery, light connected to 2nd channel in IR receiver to separately control light brightness with right wheel and the left wheel the speed of the train.

Ayos kapatid! Great collection you got there!

guys stop complaining like the town square is a modular/creator/expert line. they is city line, hence mainly for kids and has little to no modular like details. it is what it is, comparing its obvious predecessor, which is the city corner, and its a welcome update. i'm getting one for sure

why do i suddenly see a lot of fakes in South east asia, fakes that are copied from recent lego releases? i suspect these came from china, maybe lego already has a small factory in china? the pictures above are just some of the fakes, there's really a lot of other copied sets, and with a really new factory there will be far more fakes or overruns for sure in the future.hope quality remains the same, and that prices go DOWN in south east asia since we pay double or triple USA prices, and variety goes UP since we don't get the full catalog

i started with the yellow cargo train, and then PF'd the 8404 tram and now just got my horizon expressjust like what everyone says you get a lot of tracks from the yellow cargo train, multiple accessories to expand a city, like you can moc a small car dealership since it has two small cars, buy an octan gas station or moc an octan gas station since it has an octan freight tank (to add with a just released octan truck tanker), and then of course put up a port since it has the cargo cranes and a truck.
