  1. Very good idea
  2. Congrats on your first modular, you will like that, though it wasn't my first purchase, it was the first I opened and built.
  3. Nice street you got there, I like!
  4. like what it was made for, they are just that, modulars for adults and city for kids. and the difference is also that much felt when you put them side by side. i like to put city theme sets together with creator houses to form a suburban feel, while keeping modulars and hopefully making moc modulars to form my old downtown city area.
  5. i would also get in order of release if you only have a budget for 1 at this time, although like everyone says, you have to have them all and some extras for MOCing.
  6. LEGENDARY!!! How I wish I could do that, simply amazing!
  7. Great tip! Will do just that, saved me an axle and wheels to use for my other moc vehicles. Thanks!
  8. Yup this hobby is EXPENSIVE, hehehe. Yup, trailer is too short for the cab :( regarding the construction site building, might leave it as a building being constructed at the moment, until I get to have spare bricks to use as interior pieces. Yup, tru has to be bigger, hopefully I get to expand it soon.
  9. amazing mod! the screen is cool! hahaha now all we need is for you to post a video of your cinema playing a real movie!!!!!
  10. cool feature on the fire playability
  11. ^ Thanks, yup way too few bricks and money to build :( Will update the thread when i get to add a modular in place :)
  12. ^ Thanks I wanted to make it deeper, unfortunately i have no extra bricks :( I shortened the toysrus truck just to enclose the toysrus ground floor. Actually thought of demolishing my city house just to lengthen and make toysrus two floors since that had a lot of white walls and bricks, but decided against it.
  13. Before I will open and build the rest of my modulars, I decided to make the sets 7633 and 7848 modularized to go with my layout of having the GE, FB, PS, TH, and PC all lined up in one row. Since I will build the modulars to use the road plate, I will have a 12 stud gap. Hence, my modularized 7633 and 7848 to have no gaps between the modular row. First up is a picture beside the town hall: Pic from the back: Roof and all the floors: as you know the construction site has plain insides so mine is plain as well. All I added was stairs. Toys "R" us: Check out counter Toys "R" us: Display shelves Construction: Close up of worker guiding the crane for the installation of the signage Street view: Unfortunately I had to shorten the truck:
  14. cool simple layout, funny how we both got more or less the same sets to start our own lego city.
  15. wasn't able to resist, ordered it as S@H, free shipping plus a police helicopter poly. not a bad deal!

  17. very nice mod! can i borrow your idea? i'm going to make mine similar. did you just use parts from the original 7498 set? or you added parts? no idea on parts count since i haven't opened mine yet.
  18. any pictures of the asylum in your city?
  19. nice, where did you get your beige base plates?
  20. Sorry to revive an old thread but i just opened mine, and this is what i did: bought the following power function parts: 1. 88002 train motor 2. 8884 receiver 3. 88000 battery box Only mod i did to the front and rear carts is add a 1x4 tile just before the wheel to raise the carts by 1 tile. On the middle cart, I lengthened the cart by two studs. And here is the finished product:
  21. nice collection and mods you got there we had the same idea, minifig-able the shell lego ferrari that's currently out in promo now. check mine out here: http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=76974 though i didn't use the front end on the f40 as the parts tend to look cartoonish.
