  1. NO MORE INDIANA JONES MINIFIGS PLEASE Now that I have your attention, seriously they really need to do some variants of indy himself, jacket off, German disguise or in his various different costumes, I've already got 5 of the little buggers and the remaining sets I don't have come with the exact same one!. Other than that Short Round Toht Sallah Knife Guy from raiders Young Indiana Jones Willie ...Basically any character with lines (and even some that don't )
  2. Anyone seen this in any Australian TRU stores yet?
  3. "Amsterdam 1940 Indy's decision to blend in with the locals to avoid the Germans would come back to haunt them all later that night"
  4. looks cool, though I think it looks a bit stumpy I started making one of these myself (though never finished it) and from the reference images I found it was a lot longer lengthwise, I think the height and width of yours looks correct though. Also you need indy on a horse chasing it! :)
  5. This entire thread is spoiler zone so don't read any further if you don't want it ruined. So we just got back from a 10am screening this morning, first impressions are "it's ok" There's some good things to be found in indy 4, but for every good thing there's a bad thing, it seems like george lucas's hand in the bad one. Over the top stunts mainly (vine swinging, surviving 3 huge waterfalls, UFO) John Hurt's character (Ox?) was all but useless expect for when the story needed moving forward. He'd spout some random crap which would cause everyone to move onto the next action piece, I don't know if I was alone in this but I found the character to be annoying. Marion was a nice addition but she seemed wasted and her presence didn't seem to carry as much weight as it should. Shia la Bouf's character isn't as bad as I expected and considering the use of "son of the hero" storys in other movies, they've actually done a pretty good job of it. I didn't mind aliens being the mythology element, but I think they should have stuck to the less is more rule and shown less at the end, leave more to the imagination and leave an aura of doubt in the air. But the flying saucer and CGI alien at the end leave nothing to the imagination. As cool as the effects of saucer ripping up the ground and being flooded was, it was over the top. There seemed to be less puzzle figuring in this too, at least letting the audience have a chance at figure them out, everything was handed to the viewer on a platter with a big sign pointing to it. The scene where ox holds the crystal skull up to the heirogyph's and says "omg it's the same" was a clear example of this. It's an alien head, no shit, you've already made this clear earlier in the movie and made no room for doubt (which would have made it far more intriguing) Despite the fact Spielberg claimed they were using mainly practical effects there is an abundance of CGI, to the detriment of tension and reality in many scenes. Although I did like the nuke sequence, surviving that explosion in a flying fridge is a bit beyond belief. I'll have to leave it to dwell, but at the moment, it's probably sitting slightly in front of temple of doom (being the worst) of the series, which is by no means bad, a crap indiana jones movie is infinately better than most action movies. 3 1/2 out of 5 stars
  6. I was gonna do the tank from the last crusade a while back but stopped work on it, I should have kept going, I wouldn't have time to finish it now
  7. http://www.gametrailers.com/player/33454.html it looks awesome, can't wait June 4th it apparently comes out in Australia
  8. Jungle Duel "Sorry, item is not available in this country: Australia" Damn Though they said the same about the creator fast flyers set and I found that in BigW without even trying
  9. cool, the tumbler looks like a stumpy (shorter in length) version of my design, does batman still fit inside?
  10. I do agree about it looking a bit like new york, I was aiming for a paris look as to me the offical modular sets all look like they'd be at home on a paris street. I do like the facade though so I'll do some research and find some pictures of some more paris buildings and see if I can make an small changes on it to make it feel more european without changing it too much. Also adding the roof might be enough to europeanize it :) I might get rid of the air conditioner completely, that could be part of the reason it looks too modern, the other modular sets all have a bit of a timeless feel to them. As for the green, I'll look around and see what other green colours I can get those grill 1 x 2 bricks in, perhaps sand green? or dark green even. Other things I will probably do in the final building Rotate the pets sign so it sits at 45 degrees to the building Add a small wooden slat fence along the alleyway add more debris in the alley (small garbage cans, planks of wood, crates) I might get rid of the black lattice in the small arched windows maybe add a small wooden bench out the front (if I have room) perhaps in place of the air conditioner put a small balcony Anyway your comments are welcome, to sum it up too modern looks american rather than european. possibly change the green to less vibrant green.
  11. B-OM-1B This is still very early, I've duplicated the 2nd floor onto the 3rd just for now, it will have a unique 3rd floor when I'm finished. It's currently only in LDD and I plan to order the parts through bricklink when the design is finished. It's made to fit between the green grocer (on the left) and the cafe corner (on the right) it's much smaller with a messy alley on the side, the phone booth when butted up against the cafe corner would close it off completely. The idea is basically a small family style pet store, there's a couple of cages in the front inside the windows that will eventually have some cats and dogs, it has a register and shelves with pet food, the 2nd floor has a large 4 poster bed. The 3rd floor (which I haven't done yet) I'm not sure yet, I may attempt to do a haunted attic with boarded up windows and a ghost, but we'll see, it may not suit the style of building. What i'm after from you guys really is feedback on the colour scheme and architecture, I want it to fit in seamlessly with the other official modular buildings but yet still have it's own unique style. 12. So I sold my second black tumbler on ebay, and after a lot of requests, and the poor quality instructions that LDD outputs I thought I'd learn how to use MLCAD and make my own, after a week of learning and compiling it all into a nice CD-ROM package I have them up for sale on ebay. I see other people doing it on ebay and getting buyers, so I've undercut them on price but is this kind of thing frowned apon though? I've spent every night this week working on it and learning how to do it. It's a slightly improved version of the tumbler but you can buy the old one itself from factory.lego.com so I figure most of you guys have either gotten them off me earlier or from lego if you're into it. Anyway here it is http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...rksid=p3907.m29
  13. looks cool, one suggestion, perhaps you could use some 1 x 2 bricks with technic holes scattered through it to look like bullet holes?
  14. That's what i'm after so you can output an image each step seperately in LDview?
  15. I've made some instructions using MLCAD for an MOC of mine and I'm trying to find a way to get a better result out of the images it outputs, I see there's lots of POVray applications around, but most links seem to be dead and it looks like they only render the final model, not the steps along the way to building it as MLCAD does. Does anyone know of a program that will render higher quality ray traced images? is there a forum online for this kind of stuff?
  16. I finally got around to taking some better photos, I put them together on it's own MOCpage... http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/53993
  17. Does this mean LDD will be updated with the new pieces too?
  18. at first glance I thought it was Loa's plane from the start of temple of doom, I'm actually a bit disappointed to see that it's from KOTCS Does anyone know if these exclusives show up in Australian stores?
  19. I put the second black one on ebay, starting bid of $35 which is just enough to cover the cost of parts for me if anyone is interested http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...E:IT&ih=013
  20. I used vinyl dye which is supposed to dye the plastic but it still seems like it chips off on the studs when you join the pieces together (not big deal really cause you can't see it anyway) There's been no changes, just colour changes, the only thing I did add was a bit more support to hold in a certain piece, and it's not visible.
  21. Because in batman begins bruce wayne has brown hair I'll have to wait til next weekend, but I'll get some better photos in the daylight outside and hopefully I'll get more consistent colours in the photos and the brown won't look so dark.
  22. oops I name the topic wrong, it was supposed to say "Camo Tumbler - Complete" how do I change it? I can't seem to edit it
  23. So I finished the camo tumbler today, painted the last of the brown pattern on it. I'm not very happy with the end result, the brown edges are quite rough and a bit messy to be honest. The brown is a bit darker than it should be too, but it was the only colour I could get I was going to post some threads of constant updates as I worked on it but I figured it would ruin the surprise of the final result. I had a hard time getting the photos to look consistent as every time I took a photo it was a different colour and darkness. Anywhere here it is. "Batman Begins" Bruce Wayne Before the brown pattern was painted on.
  24. Building something you like is different to taking credit for something you didn't create. Did you know I directed Jurassic Park? I starred in Casablanca as well He's not the first on MOCpages I've seen doing this either, there was a couple of other users doing it too, with names like "the man" or "the killer" or something
  25. I have a lot of old space stuff I was gonna offload shortly on ebay, do you have a list of what you have and are willing to trade? Here's some pics Since I took this photo I've actually bought a new front slope for this one to replace the faded one in the photo
