  1. It's a fantastically entertaining comic! Pirate spiders is not something we've seen before - you've hit upon a new concept here. You've created a formidable enemy who could also appear in future MOCs! It also raises the question: who is in that command of that ship? Is it just zombie pirates... or is it something more... @evancelt, your mini-minifig craze is taking off!
  2. Ah yes, time is that all important factor. Well, thank you for sharing what you've done!
  3. You've done a fine job indeed! You've managed to fit all those details and fresh produce in there, but where be all the treasure chests?
  4. So much attention to detail - especially with the rigging! And the historical overview is extremely interesting! But at the expense sounding pretentious, is it possible to include renders which depict the crew ? These builds are great and I'm certainly not implying there is anything wrong with them, but minifigs tend to add another dimension to builds..
  5. So what's the deal with this "microfigures" - aren't they out of some kind of LEGO board game, or something to that effect?
  6. Aye aye, Captain! So what about the pirates? Errr... privateers? Have you got any ideas those? Or am I getting too far ahead of myself?
  7. Glorious! This is definitely worth a feature on our various communication channels!
  8. It would make a fine set, don't ye think? It's fresh enough to be distinct from Broadside's Brig - but I'll admit, when I first saw it, I thought it was meant to be an Imperial Trading Post remake!
  9. But will it reach 10K before the weekend?
  10. Aye, it's a pearler of a word! You should use it at every available opportunity. But what inspired you to build a MOC of pirate ballroom dancing of all things? It is ballroom dancing, isn't it?
  11. Also, I found this rousing piece of artwork somewhere:
  12. Since when was it a secret? Having you played Sid Meier's: Pirates!? Dancing is an essential part of courting the fine wenches governor's daughters. Fruit party!
  13. Thank you for taking the time to update the first post! But also, any time you have an update, feel free to create a new post in this topic. As you're no doubt aware, new posts will bump the topic to the top of the forum index and that give your update a high chance of being seen. Can't wait for the next update!
  14. Yes, we know. The same thing has happened with Pirates. Half a dozen pirate themed ideas have reached 10K and then been rejected during review. The main difference is Castle sets have been released or remade during this time, whereas Pirates has been very quiet since 2020.
  15. I'm not familiar with these comics... so I'm a bit confused by what's happening. It appears the LEGO Maniac is playing with the LEGO sets (or at least the Armada Flagship) but also part of the action? Are we to assume when he's among the sets and minfigs, that's what he imagines while playing with the sets?
  16. Which story did you have in mind? I've been reading scans of these magazine for the Armada Port blog post and the pages I read (at least) seemed to be more biographical than story driven. Bricks and Pieces Magazine however... there is a narrative there:
  17. Of course it will, but can't we be excited and make a big deal out of it anyway? LEGO Pirate sets have been skint in recent times so this gives us Pirate fans a reason to share the experience and spread some cheer while we're at it.
  18. Named after the infamous Captain Dyk! I notice the comic depicts the buildings as white with red roofing but your decision to go with brown and black is a much better choice. Granted the Golden Medallion was released 4 years prior to the Imperial Guards debut, but forever will I associate that style of architecture with the sub theme. (Thanks Imperial Trading Post!) Black suits pirates much better anyway, the darker colours give the architecture a more rustic charm, as rogue pirates to wouldn't build or maintain their settlement the same way a colonial empire would.
  19. Ah yes, I see now. An image such as this in the first post would help grab more attention:
  20. So you mean it's not done yet? We may see more exciting innovations!
  21. I assumed the story was aimed at children under 5.
  22. As I haven't read How to Be a Knight I cannot make a fair comparison. But as the story was targeted towards younger children so I was expecting it to be simple. Without giving too much a way... The book attempts to communicate teamwork is important by having the protagonist not being able to achieve a certain objective without the support of the crew, simply because she lacks the necessary skill... but then all of a sudden she's able to save day by conveniently having the skill for an even more complicated task which she's able to complete all by herself. That plot contradiction seemed to negate the lesson the book was trying to teach.
  23. Have you read "How to Be a Pirate" yet?
