  1. Whereas in my home town this is completely different! My local toy store has LEGO lining the entire back wall, top to bottom... So that's 30 metres wide by 5 metres high... and then they've also got half an aisle dedicated to LEGO. They pretty much stock everything including what's available on LEGO.com - I even noticed a few Pirates of Barracuda Bay on the shelf a while back.
  2. Thank you for that clarification. And while it's valuable to have insight to how a set is performing at your local store, it's not necessarily an indication of how the set is performing globally, or even at a different store in the same town. I recall back (near 2 decades ago) when I've walked into a store in my hometown, observed the LEGO situation and assumed it's like that everywhere, only to jump online and learn otherwise. So I don't think that way anymore. However, Samarth's earlier comment seems to corroborate the information provided by the employee of your local LEGO store: "The consensus on sundry FB groups (based on what I've been reading, so this is totally anecdotal) seems to be that the set isn't selling well. That's why it was on discount relatively quickly after initial launch.
  3. Thank you - that deduction makes sense.
  4. Does not sell well at that particular store? Or does not sell well in general? It's important distinction to make because at other stores it may be selling very well...
  5. Do we have any other indication that The LEGO Group is remotely sorry for not releasing a Pirates-themed set on its 90th birthday in 2022? Their priority is releasing sets which generate the highest income, they probably care little for the plight of fans of a theme with a small market share.
  6. An AI Chatbot... I just ask the following question four times: What do you know about the Classic Pirates fan community? Response #1: Response #2 Response #3 Response #4 "Tell me about LEGO set 6270 Forbidden Island" I seem to have missed the version which includes the volcano! Response #2 This version includes a cave and governor minifigure!
  7. It's quite faithful to the original - the main difference is the minifigures.
  8. A blog post is well underway! Well, I'll be - that's 6257 Castaway's Raft! Any particular reason for using an existing set rather than a custom build raft?
  9. Please! Not another pirate ship with red striped sails! That is correct. As we don't have any alleged set images this rumour is a bit vague.
  10. It sure is! In some regions he was named in the catalogs:
  11. This is also a classic promo... And a test to determine whether Instagram posts can be embedded in the forum.
  12. LEGO House Exclusive Set: 40504 A Minifigure Tribute NOW Available! Sail over to the LEGO Pirates Forum for more information and photos...
  13. Well, I guess he's almost a modern update of the Ladybird Books version - he's just got some new tights!
  14. At the expense of derailing this topic into the Bo'Sun Will topic... Did the Minifigure Factory design station name the below figure Bo'Sun Will, or is that just what you named the minifig?
  15. This was the set that got me hooked on LEGO Pirates: But the Ladybird Books seemed to have a different idea so there's always been two: And now you're telling me there's a third?
  16. This minifig is supposed to be Bo'Sun Will?
  17. Let's hope you're right! Aye, lots of people think that it would!
  18. Heads up! We now have a topic for the rumoured 10320 - [Vault D2C] set so please continue the discussion relating to that rumour in that topic.
  19. Great another rumour! Better not take to Facebook or the blog post with a post yet given the last "rumour" as 2 weeks ago. Do we have an indication of what type of pirate set it will be? I.e. ship, fort, island, etc. Or will it be some obscure build which is definitely not a classic-style set. And I assume you're referring to this post by lego_insider_news
  20. Aye, this is one of the best commercials ever!
  21. I guess yer also didn't see the blog post on Classic-Pirates.com: https://www.classic-pirates.com/news/newupcoming/lego-house-40504-a-minifigure-tribute T'would have been fabulous if your Instagram story had linked to that instead of directly to the LEGO House website
  22. Now that I've been going through all the content in more detail, I'm thoroughly impressed that this is your first Bricklink Studio build.
  23. Thank you for your diligent news reporting!
