This is another good point - some companies do deliberately leak information as part of their marketing strategy. So let's add a third scenario to the list: The leaked information is fabricated The leaked information is stolen from the company The leaked information is strategically placed by the company
-
Yes, you are correct. Most companies would prefer not to have information stolen and published by third-parties prior to making an official announcement. However, when information is first leaked, we don't know how accurate it is. So yes, it could be stolen from a legitimate source, or it could be invented by someone on social media to attract more followers. Either way, leaks sure do get people speculating!

Not to worry! We'll just continue that discussion in the Pirate Ship Playground GWP reported topic.

That is the apparent rumour surrounding the sets release but I assume we'll find out soon enough. Thank you for sharing some optimism! Yes, you're correct, furthermore, 31109 Creator 3 in 1 Pirate Ship has been in production for almost 3 years now so it's not like pirates is completely absent. But the frustration arises from Castle and Space receiving modern set remakes and/or LEGO Ideas/Bricklink inspired releases, while Pirates is relegated to whatever novelty happens to be on offer that month. I guess the frustration compounds on me because I encounter it across the entire Classic Pirates social network when we publish articles and announcements and the news is not the classic-style Pirate set many fans long for. The LEGO Group doesn't seem to be influenced by all 10K the pirate-themed LEGO Ideas submissions - they've rejected half a dozen of them in the past 3 years. So if they can ignore those votes, how would an unofficial poll have much sway? And right now, the Bricklink Designer Program is conducting a poll to determine the next series of Bricklink Designer sets - so, even if a submission Pirate attracts enough votes to be selected, will that even make a difference?

We've had a Pirate Roller Coaster... a Pirate Tree House... and in the past few months a Pirate Coin Operated Mall Ride and a Pirate Train Carriage. So the LEGO Pirate Fans be wondering; how about a proper classic-style pirate set for once? This could have been an opportunity to release a small pirate ship - that's something LEGO Pirate fans have wanted for a long time. But no... have a Pirate Playground in the shape of a ship instead! (And this frustration is not intended to be directed at you, LegoAUT)

Roebuck reported this in the Future LEGO Pirates Set Speculation topic yesterday. But I guess we'll keep this topic and edit in the official images when they become available. If anyone wants to see an ultra-low resolution of image of the alleged set, head over to www.promobricks.de

That is correct - that's actually what I'm saying. However, when information is first leaked we don't whether it's legitimate stolen information or fabricated.
-
YAWWWWWWWWWN! More of the "Let's have pirate themed sets but not the type LEGO Pirates fans actually want" At least this has classic style palm leaves, doesn't look like a classic style trunk though.
-
That's only if the information is legitimate. If somebody fabricates a leak, then it's not actually stolen from the LEGO Group.
-
There may be legal and moral concerns in regards to stealing information. However, it's not specified where the information was stolen from... so so it could be "stolen" from another leaker elsewhere on the Internet, or it could be stolen from within the LEGO Group. At this point in time we just don't know!

Thank you sharing those Work In Progress renders and background information on Güldene Maid - it adds so much depth to the creation! -
Eurobricks does have a general new member introduction forum in which you can create an introductory topic, but that sits outside the LEGO Pirates forum.

You are most welcome - keep building more fantastic creations!

Thank you for sharing all these wonderful finds and welcome to the LEGO Pirates Forum! Do you have any of the old poster or catalogs in your personal collection?
-
Thank you for sharing your inspiration and process which lead to the final result! But two questions remain: What kind of camera did you use to achieve that glorious depth of field? Which software did you use to edit the background and apply the finishing touches?
-
Did yer ask what makes them think that?

Of course people are interested! It's interesting to see how the build evolves from start to finish.
-
Awwww.... not even a Work In Progress shot?

It's quite interesting to see how these creations evolve over time! And always good to have Work In Progress material to provide depth to our MOC blog posts... -
This is a nicely edited scene! You've got a roll to the ocean and some depth of field happening. But what happens next? Are there anymore photos? Or is this it?
