That's an even better idea! Perhaps you'd like to review the blog post to ensure I've got all the details correct: https://www.classic-pirates.com/wordpress/wp-admin/post.php?post=638634&action=edit

If all goes to plan we can schedule the blog post for Wednesday. But I'll just put "expiring soon" rather than a fixed to get readers clicking on the link in 6 months time. Also, a skilled plumber. Will the Chinese manufacturers be including the sails with this one? Also, there are discrepancies in the weights and dimensions in their specifications:
-
@Marooned Marin, what's the name of the damn monkey?
-
Thank ye! Is there an exact date when this expires?

Blog Post is well underway... but further research is required. Wikipedia provides a list of all ships by that name but I'm having difficult finding sources on a Triton active between 1836-1859. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Triton So where might I find some appropriate sources?

This is a wonderful build - it would definitely make a great official set to rival the 10020 Imperial Flagship! With a bit of paraphrasing the first post of this topic could be repurposed as a blog post which can shoot around social media. But in the mean time, how about we frontpage it on Eurobricks? @Captain Braunsfeld, does this ship meet with your standards? Or @Jack Sassy , think you can beat Branusfeld to it?

[MOC] The Treasure - 10K LEGO Ideas Supporters achieved!

Thank you for submitting your review! You've done mighty fine for a first effort - when I was building this set, I took some photos and experienced similar issues with the lighting. So what's next for your Ray the Castaway? Leave the set built as per the instructions? Or are you going to MOC/MOD the design to make it uniquely yours?

I suspect consumer demand is the tightest friendship any manufacturer has in relation to the products they produce, but don't let me convince you otherwise. Let's hope your belief becomes a reality!

With all the intellectual properties Disney owns, another Black Pearl set seems like a bit a long shot without a Pirates of the Caribbean film to support it.

[WIP] Motorized HMS Bellerophon 74-gun ship-of-the-line
Mister Phes replied to NilssonLegoEngineering's topic in Pirate MOCs
Thank ye! This is quite fascinating, I've seen similar mechanics applied to other MOCs, but this is the time I've seen them in a Pirate-themed MOC. Any chance of uploading a high resolution video to YouTube or Vimeo? -
Maybe I'm misreading here... but you "expect to see Black Pearl"? There hasn't been an official confirmation of a Pirates of the Caribbean sequel nor so much as a rumour (as far as I'm aware) that there will be future sets based on that franchise. But correct me if I'm mistaken!

You've made an interesting start! Are there any videos of the ship in motion? -
Don't tell the DadiTwins that!

Ummmm... the Imperials don't need to colour coordinate with the Pirates. Just so you know! Blue coat soldiers very much colour coordinate with white masonry architecture with yellow highlights and have done so since 1989.
-
And what a glorious looking return it is! Although, there don't appear to be any Imperial soldiers present at this moment.

Congratulations on yer acquisition! I think I've got one of these in MISB condition somewhere...

I don't think I've seen the Boutique Hotel before either But thank you for educating of building techniques which could be incorporated into pirate MOCs - those lanterns adjacent the palm tree could also make a fine addition to pirate creations.
-
Interesting - I don't think I've seen anyone use that technique before!
