  1. That's great! Any thoughts on the entry?
  2. It's really taking shape and shaping up nicely!
  3. Finally someone remade it! I guess it doesn't have the boulder activation feature...
  4. Another potential issue is enforcing 5 votes may deter the more casual observers from voting. Everyone who has posted in this topic has been following the contest and deeply invested, so they're familiar with the entries. But someone who checks the forum once per week may find choosing 5 entries an arduous task. So perhaps it should be minimum of 3 votes and maximum of 5 votes.
  5. The images are coming soon folks! Images have been added - are they working?
  6. You can host your images on Flickr, Brickshelf, BrickSafe or a similar platform and link to them in the forum
  7. By the past you mean 10-15 years ago before social media came along causing forum activity to decrease?
  8. It's the part where we don't enough people voting that I'm attempting to circumvent.
  9. And that's two who share that opinion... can we get a third?
  10. It's finally made it's debut in the LEGO Pirates Forum! Been following the updates in the Classic Pirates Facebook Group. But will it be ready by the deadline?
  11. Thank you for your concern! Of course there won't be any cementing of the voting rules until after entries close. At this point, we're just taking expressions of interest to increase 3 votes per category to 5, because it seems there will be sufficient entries to warrant that. The deadline for entries has been well advertised so we better honour that. But those issues should have been resolved more than a month and any entries requiring transfer were done after the announcement of the Mini Set Building Category. Baring in mind, there are only two categories: The Main Building Category and Mini Set Building Category. There is no category distinction between invent a new set and update a classic set - that's merely a creative choice offered to building entrants. If you want to attract as many voters as possible, yes it does matter. Ideally you want to have your final/best pictures at the very top of the first post (in your entry topic) and again near the last post. When voters come to review your entry, don't expect them to read through 2+ pages of posts. Not everyone has the time or patience for that! If they use the Entries Index, they'll arrive at the first post in your entry topic and make their assessment based on what they see there. Those who been following the contest make delve further, but causal voters probably won't make that effort. Off they go to review the next entry. So your mission is to ensure your best images are positioned where they are most accessible.... and that's always going to be in the topic's first post and last post.
  12. Further to this... Chinese manufacturers are getting in on the act with their own minifigures These were shared by inappropriatepiratebricks via Instagram.
  13. I believe you're correct - thank ye!
  14. They look impregnable! Which stop motion series be that?
  15. THREE supporters of voting for 5 entries per category (10 votes in total)!!! Can we get a fourth supporter?
  16. So you're the third supporter for 5 votes per category?
  17. Both categories consist of the "Invent a new set" and "Update an existing set" sub categories... Ok that's TWO supporters of voting for 5 entries per category (10 votes in total) Anyone third this?
  18. Vote for 5 entries per category yer say? Total of 10 votes? Anyone else second this? It encourages entrants to vote and avoid a situation in which very few people vote. Well blow me down! In almost every contest topic I've included a timeline but seem to have omitted that vital detail from this topic. Thank ye - it shall be rectified.
  19. Ah yes, very Age of Exploration period appropriate...
  20. Aye, it's rather confusing using existing set names for new creations.
  21. That's seems a lot like those early LEGO Pirate sets when the parts library and color palette were far more limited... Like those yellow things at the bottom of the raft - exactly what are they? Wood? Pineapples? An inflatable flotation device?
  22. Yes, indeedywinks! I was a bit confused as to whether this was a remake/update or a new concept due to the name "La Serpiente". So I was allowing extra time to observe how the build evolved before adding it to the appropriate section.
  23. Also Brickshelf and BrickSafe are specifically for hosting LEGO images. I will third that notion. No water, but more flotsam from the destroyed raft. I'm not familiar with Playmobil... be that a door the lad is riding upon?
  24. That's kind of the point of designing a classic-style LEGO Pirate set. Nice minifig line up! Especially the inclusion of the torso design on the first minifigure. Now we just need some renders of the minifigs in the set...
