  1. Return of the Classic Pirates Contest VOTING CLOSES: THIS IS YOUR LAST OPPORTUNITY TO DETERMINE THE WINNERS! Navigate to the Voting Topic in the LEGO Pirates Forum RIGHT NOW!
  2. And how do we find and appoint qualified judges? Yes, currently it's a discussion open to everyone... as you can see we are discussing it right now. Yes, and he did advertise his entries on social media... so therefore it's not unreasonable some of his followers may have voted that day. Yes, you are correct. The reason the for the low entry barrier was primarily to observe the outcome. So having observed, I agree the negative has outweighed the benefit, so in the future voting requirements will be more stringent.
  3. So we should ban an entrant for an action taken by other members, even if the entrant is unaware of their activity? No, he doesn't have that privilege. The reason action hasn't been taken is because we've being conducting an investigation. Just to clarify, this isn't the police department so we don't get paid full time to investigate potential fraud. It turns out that Edward Kenway Captain has a real name and a Facebook account (in his real name) with 1,000+ friends, and it has existed long before the contest was announced. So he is definitely not the same person as the builder, because the builder also posts in the Classic Pirates Facebook Group regularly. He may not have noticed the posts... @MyFirstMOC-Hun - do you have any input on this matter?
  4. So by "ban" do you mean ban him from Eurobricks or just disqualify him from the contest? Yes, it is suspicious hence why we're having this conversation. Unlike @Akdouble and @Edward Kenway Captain, @Tibcsi83 voted for Mini Set entries. Nonetheless, I have contacted all three via Email and Eurobricks private message, so if I don't receive a reply for any of them, it's crunch time!
  5. The voting results say otherwise. Even with these allegedly fraudulent votes, he's not been advantaged in the slightest.
  6. Before we ban someone, what makes it clear that he cheated? And it wasn't someone acting on his behalf, but without his knowledge? Two voters have not been included in the official count: Akdouble - created a new topic to vote Edward Kenway Captain - failed to vote for any Mini Set entries It's certainly not affecting the final count. Clear winners for each category have emerged and entries in both categories have jumped ahead. MyFirstMOC-Hun didn't enter in the Mini Set category so voting for him has no affect in that category whatsoever .
  7. Awesome! Thank you for sharing this articulate video series, complete with highlighting! One video down... the but it's the wee hours of the morning so the rest will need to wait until after some ZzZzZ...
  8. I have suggested this myself, but according to @Jim bandwidth and space don't cost next-to-nothing. The forum already has this functionality. What kind of poll questions would you ask?
  9. Well definitely have one of those after contest.
  10. That's great! This shack looks like it would have been a decent entry too.
  11. It was partly that reason, and partly to attract newer members hence why no minimum account requirement was placed on the voters this time. If you review the votes, there are voters with less than 10 posts who have managed to cast valid votes. That being said, for the next contest we may limit voting to those who have registered an account prior to the contest start.
  12. And now we shall work to good new days! Even better than the good old days!
  13. This is the first contest the LEGO Pirates Forum has held since 2013... But once upon a time... back in the late 2000's and early 2010's we held contests every 6-12 months with more building categories and much larger prize pools. Return of the Classic Pirates is tiny in comparison! Below is an image of the prize pool for the 2012 Seven Seas Contest, which doesn't include the half dozen 8396 Soldier's Arsenals, two 6240 Kraken Attackin's and 6242 Soldier's Forts we offered during the promotion of that contest.
  14. Unless voting is kept completely anonymous, this cannot be prevented. But unless someone is deeply invested in the contest, they're probably won't to go to this effort. You have understood correctly. How so? There has only been suspicion of voter fraud towards one builder. If he'd only entered one build, voting would be less obvious. It was because various new members voted for 5 of his builds that made their activity very noticeable. If they just voted for one of his builds they would have been far more inconspicuous.
  15. Nay. Votes cannot be edited/changed. Imagine how contest could be swayed if people could change their votes after learning who was in the lead.
  16. It's probably best we end this particular line of discussion here...
  17. Return of the Classic Pirates Contest Voting Closes September 16 - LAST CHANCE to VOTE! A provisional vote tally and details of potential voting fraud can be found in the Voting Heats Up article. And if you haven't voted, sail to the Official Voting Topic and cast your vote RIGHT NOW!
  18. You've done very well! Here are my Voting Results based on @Yoggington's earlier spreadsheet. At this time there are only two voters who I did not count (see notes in XLS file) but the results are petty much the same despite the values being slightly different.
  19. Is everything alright here?
  20. That is consistent with my updated count based on Yoggington's spreadsheet.
  21. You could use Google Drive or OneDrive as they integrate seamlessly with Excel and Google Sheets.
  22. We're still awaiting upon a response from Akdouble. We'll give him the weekend to reply and if he doesn't, then the updates will happen!
