  1. Oh yes, before I forget Mr ZCerberu, I have a question for... Which mini-figure head are you using for the Admiral? It doesn't look like its the standard Admiral face.
  2. It wouldn't surprise me if it were 6.50 GPB for the lot being an UK auction. So that's US$12.80 or 9,64$ Euro Or A$16.20 in the local currency here and I very much doubt an Armada Sentry with a box would sell here for under A$20.00.
  3. What would you call it then Mr Tiber?
  4. Yes, of course! Any pirate (and its sub-themes Imperial Guard, Islander and Imperial Armada), 16-18th colonial, or Napoleonic war MOC may be posted in the Pirate LEGO MOCs sub-forum. Just so long as it isn't here already, and if that's the case we'll have to merge the threads together.
  5. Errrr... What about the link to the Brickshelf Folder? Is this the link you're looking for Mr Tiber?
  6. Someone forgot to press the "F" button that day. Wasn't me of course. I have a scribe who writes all my messages for me, I merely dictate the messages. PS. I'm probably lying...
  7. Isn't this sad smiley sad enough for you? :'-(
  8. Yes, this was the opportunity I was referring to. It must be 1994 since if you look very closely the Islander sets in the bottom left hand corner each set "New" written diagonally in yellow triangles. But if you want to dig further then look at the Pirate pages in the 1994 catalogue - its the exact same picture.
  9. The Siena thread only has a few posts so if you're not going to be doing any further work on that ship I might merge it with another of your ship threads. But I'll leave it there till you decide.
  10. What does the Islander poster look like? An opportunity has arisen for me procure one and I think I might take it.
  11. Would I be nitpicking too much if I said I'd prefer if the tower on the left was white (maybe some yellow for variation) with grey plates for the floors and the cannon had a red base? As you can see I'm stuck in a world where Imperial Guard structures are the same colour scheme and they are in official LEGO sets...
  12. Brickster, is there any particular reason you've decided to drape your flags rather than have them flying?
  13. By several are implying that you're also overhauling the Sienna as well?
  14. I like this one much better too particularly because the colours don't contrast so much, however I probably wouldn't have made the building on the left blue because its the same colour as the water. A more neutral colour like white or possibly tan to avoid repetition since the boat shed is also white. The boat shed however is a wonderful idea for a set and for some reason such a structure never occurred to me. I might steal that idea one Brickster :-D
  15. I suppose I was indirectly referring to the official sets as they haven't shown strict historical accuracy, but that's not saying I think historic accuracy is a bad thing. I'm pointing out a fact than offering an opinion.
  16. There's nothing wrong with it, but I think Willems shouldn't feel hindered to create his Pocahontas scene because it came later in history than the period the Western or Pirate theme was set. However, I was referring to MOCs rather sets in this instance.
  17. What's so funny about that? When the sets were first released they were abundant and therefore not in danger of becoming extinct.
  18. You should really be framing them Mr Norro :-D Do you have any pirate posters?
  19. Do anachronisms really matter though? Historic accuracy has never been a strong point when it comes to LEGO!
  20. Long live the Spanish! Even though Columbus was Italian... I've only ever seen one person that appears (i.e. obvious physical traits) to have descended from the natives of northern America, but he could have been a tourist... So I reckon there's almost none. Ok, how is it pronounced? X-D
  21. What do you call a decent price Mr Norro?
  22. But lets not forget that most 10-15 year olds were too young to remember when Pirate LEGO was still in production. So I'm not entirely convinced that many of the SYSTEM Pirate fans are within that age bracket because they don't get exposure to the Pirate theme like the have to Star Wars, Knights Kingdom, etc. I don't necessarily mean post on a forum, maybe just Email me... I'm curious to know what things are like from their perspective and the only way I'm really going to find out is to ask. Nobody saw a MOC out of me for a good 12 months after I registered here! X-D
  23. Why is opening a sealed 6285 out of the question while 6235 or 1747 is out of the question? Is it just because of the size of the sets? Yes, I have been pondering ways to reach out to Pirate LEGO fans who aren't ware of communities like this. I remember I was in this category for a couple of years and the best I could find was those horrible LEGO.com message boards. It would be interesting to talk to one (or some) of these collectors, are there any open enough to do that?
  24. Lets have a look at this "Port Mead" I shall admit this is probably better than any Pirate Port MOC I've made because really I haven't made any. Is that sad? :'-( The first thing that's got me pondering is "colour harmony". I.e. are these colours working together? Are they supposed to work together I am not sure. But the red door and window frame does contrast with the green window shutters which in turn contrasts the the grey building. The next thing I ponder if this is "Brickster's Pirates" why is there such a strong Imperial Soldier presence? I shall go away for a while and ponder these matters further...
  25. I don't really understand why "Native American" is any better than "Indian" because "America" is a European name anyway. But I'd never heard of "Inuit" before. And we can't call them "Aborigines" because they now must be called "Indigenous Australians". And once again "Australia" is a European name...
