The Islanders seem to be getting a lot of love considering they were the least popular Pirate sub-theme, but I'm wondering who is voting for them. So come forth Islander lovers and show yourselves!

PICTORIAL REVIEW: 6274 Caribbean Clipper
Mister Phes replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Pirates
The message or the entire thread? The thread will get moved after its no longer receiving any attention, because it will be easier to find in the Review section than on page 5 of the main forum. But it shall stay here until it disappears off page 1. -
Yes, what do you mean by "skins"?
-
Its also the name of the program I used to make the background image you're using for your signature :-D

My thoughts are the same as your thoughts, although the question I'd be asking is how well are these resurrected themes performing? I notice there has been a Playmobil resurgence here in the past 5 years, whereas before it had all but vanished. Maybe I've missed something... Do you work in a toy store?
-
Yes, good idea old chap! Will you be taking progress pictures?
-
I haven't seen too many ships using these newer colours so I'd be wondering how harmoniously they're going work with the older brown hulls since apparently the older colour palette is on a "different spectrum".

Since its Wednesday in most parts of the world now I'm probably a bit late, but anyway... Exactly what kind of inspirations were you looking for? Just those addressed in the first post? I'll tackle #1 I'd say if you're going for the Imperial Flagship type sails then go really easy on the blue because it contrasts too much with these sales. We already know that brown works with them, but it depends what kind of hull you're going to use, whether it be hull pieces or custom. Obviously with the hull pieces you're limited to red, black, white and dark grey. I'm wondering how those sails would work with the dark grey hull...

Actually I was just being silly. Mr Norrington probably is correct to assume this is a birthday cake.

Actually it would be good to have a Moderator visiting the Pirate forum basis as I can no longer keep up with every threads. There has been an incident lately that needed to be attended to sooner and if I hadn't been PMed I may not have got to it until much later. Generally the users of the pirate forum don't cause many troubles but there are a couple that need some guidance.

This introduction thread doesn't seem to be doing much so I might merge it with Island Boy's other thread if it doesn't pick up.
-
Mr Tiber, you still haven't told us that you want a pirate version of this smiley. And I also must make the winking smiley ;-) wink more...

You mean its the default "string" that appears in the dialogue when you click the Insert Link button? That may be so but it can be easily edited.

Dark ages can last up to 10 years though and we really do need a moderator that can participate in the forum ASAP because its getting to the point where I can't keep up with all the threads. The other Administrators might like the idea of having a dormant Pirate Moderator...

:'-( NOOOOOOOOOO!!! Evil Willy has officially announced the beginning of his Dark Age!!! :'-(

Welcome back Mr Akkhraziel! It has been quite a while since we've read from you. I thought you procured that Skulls Eye Schooner over 2 years ago and at the time you mentioned you were having problems receiving chewed, folded, or mutilated pieces. That problem isn't still plaguing you is it?
-
Mr Norrington I don't think you understand. It doesn't matter if that torso looks similar to a picture on another website, the website is completely irrelevant to the LEGO mini-figure. The LEGO Company officially named the character "Governor Broadside", and a governor was all they intended him to be. Now in your own make-believe world he can be an admiral or whatever you like, but if you're testing someone on facts which are already established then they must be accurate. You cannot conclude he's an admiral just because you saw a picture on a website because LEGO isn't based on historic accuracy and that website has nothing to do with LEGO whatsoever. Do you understand what I mean? But its a good website you've shared, however you shouldn't say its "My Webpage" when someone else made it.

Are you going to do a CAD design of the Covenant rebuild?
-
Ahoooooooooooooooy there Cap'n!
-
Oh great! Just what we need - more grey incompatibility issues. Alternatively if you stock up on white you could avoid the grey problem ;-)

How do yellow arches make the Imperial Guard sets look childish? Their colour scheme has always been yellow and white so I saw yellow arches as just another variation. You better get on BrickLink and eBay right away then! Oh yeah, money comes into it, doesn't it? You could always use lattice like Sabre Island...
-
Come to think of it this MOC could really benefit from an arch :-D
-
That's the name of the island. :-P
-
I'm wondering Brickster why you take many pictures of your MOCs? Its good to be able to view these creations from different perspectives and as far as I'm aware its not that difficult or time consuming to take pictures.

Does this mean my post re: Resizing images has been completely ignored? |-/
