  1. And I've updated the first post in this thread... So lads, discuss the game or maybe arrange a tournament!
  2. I called Myer customer service back in July and the person I spoke to said they were possibly getting more Imperial Flagships before Christmas. The person I spoke to however was just regular floor staff, but it can't hurt ask your local Myer if they're getting more in. It could well be true.
  3. Yes, it's a mighty fine oprtress I'm just wondering why Burman left it off his list...?
  4. A well earned promotion - so now we'll work him harder
  5. Something no AFOL website has ever done before!
  6. To be quite precise the technique is called Motion Tracking or Motion Capture and the red balls are known as markers.
  7. If you think it would make the world a better place. For years people have been assuming all the rigging is the same - this could change the way MOCers think about rigging!
  8. We can think you've uncovered a conspiracy the LEGO Group tried very hard to bury in the hopes that nobody would ever uncover it!
  9. You might want to send SlyOwl a PM and bring this thread to his attention. He's used the the burning roof effect in his past MOCs.
  10. Lets see's 35.00 CAD = 34.2928 USD - did the people who calcuate the values forget the gap between the two currencies isn't as wide as it used to be? Now that's a good possibility!
  11. I'm not sure about the History Forum but the Pirate Forum does benefit from a thread on this topic. Bluecoats are without a doubt a very popular aspect of the Pirate theme.
  12. Ummmm... Admiral Croissant already suggested pegleg (which would be the most obvious explaination) a few posts back...
  13. These spoilers have posed some intriguing questions... How did Barbossa come to wear a bluecoat uniform and what's happening with this leg?
  14. I noticed that as well... Barbossa didn't have a pegleg in the previous movies did he? How'd you know that was the best suprise if you haven't seen the movie? There might be better prizes in store I very doubt pictures of myself would interest those interested in the return of Imperial Armada like sets and figures. As for the Stranger Tides images, I just Google "Strangers Tides" or "Pirates of the Caribbean 4" and dowload whatever images look interesting. But I don't post the images immediately, I wait until this thread needs a little boost. The pictures of Barbossa have been floating around the Internet for over 10 days now.
  15. Speaking of Blue Coats it appears ... Barbossa has become one!
  16. This looks like an interesting adaptation which could show promise! But the inherent limitation is the dependency on the board game Pirate's Cove. I'm not sure how widely available it is, but doing a quick check on eBay there are only a few auctions and all located in the USA, so those in other regions would bear more expense when acquiring a copy. It also relies upon the manufacturer producing the game well into the future otherwise it could become even more scarse. If there was a way to replace the board game and its associated media with compontents that were easily downloaded, printed and assembled then this idea could go places!
  17. Is that the original 6271 Imperial Flagship released in 1992 or the more 10210 Imperial Flagship?
  18. Well done! One is better than none! But like I said in my earlier post, the text over the Skulls Eye Schooner image is quite difficult to read, so perhaps the presentation of your Hyves page. But we do have a few Dutch or Dutch language speakers on crew, including Bonaparte, Lord Admiral Zorro, Captain Greenhair, Captain Blakmoor, Cap'n Kirk just to name a few.
  19. Why thank you! As for your question: "wouldn't we rather have a new pirates series rather than LEGO Pirates happening in 2009 and Imperial Armada sets happening potentially in 2012? Maybe I'm missing the point." I think we'd prefer to see Imperial Armada sets happening right now while we wait for the Pirates of the Caribbean sets. Whitecoats are horrible - their uniforms require constant trips to the drycleaners to keep them white!
  20. Yes, you are. Confused it completely you did. There were also non (EIC) blue coats in the movies so there is potential for both.
  21. No need to be negative matey, this thread is supposed to be a bit of fun speculation
  22. Ahhhhhhhhh mighty puffins!
  23. He looks quite relaxed for somebody sitting in boiling water. About the "very well built" comment... I see the technique used here are a couple of rubber bands around some plates, but the effect is somewhat uneven and in reality the water would come pouring out of the cracks. Is there a way to produce a similiar effect without the uneveness?
