  1. Interesting you should say that because I was thinking it did very much look like a low grade fan made production. When I have the time I was considering revamping them to look more professional.
  2. I've read the book and it seemed little more than "A Guide to the 2009 Pirate Sets for kiddies". As TalonCard has summised the book offers little in the way of new content, so Zeya has raised a good point, why print the book now? It would have been more beneficial to the marketing two and a half years ago. "Photoshop" is not a noun! But yes, the LEGO images have been digitally manipulated to include background artwork similar in style to the artwork found on the 2009 Pirate boxes. Actually it seems much of the book artwork was recycled from the boxes.
  3. It would be wonderful to have time for such things. But final part? The bones for Part VI also exist!
  4. It exists, but it is not finished...
  5. Was it these comics in particular or just general LEGO comics?
  6. Good to see it arrived safely. The rest of your prizes will take a good deal longer to arrive...
  7. You're probably right then, I haven't looked at the US material for a long time now, nor do I have the time to refresh my memory. We need to acquire and add a lot more scans to Classic-Pirates.com, don't we?
  8. I'm not sure that's entirely accurate from the catalogue scans I've seen, maybe I need go back and revist the USA catalogs. The fourth page is on its way!
  9. I was wondering that myself. Maybe those who produced the comic (I assume the LEGO Group enlisted a third-party to do so) weren't well informed of the minifigure names.
  10. 10 second preview of the teaser trailer which will be screened at the Super Bowl - if you've seen the full trailer there's nothing new here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WrkDaO3Kwi0
  11. Would you like me to add that to the poll - or are you able to do that yourself?
  12. Where's the option for "Leave the sets as they are and treat POTC as an independent theme"?
  13. A Guide to the Pirate Mini-Figures Part IV posits an interesting theory on where the Islanders came from...
  14. Enchanted Island was in fact one of the Indigo Islands...
  15. I notice the 2009 Imperial Guard torso has been used but also there's a new Imperial Guard torso which could work well in non-POTC armies.
  16. According to the LEGO Battles game it's Camilla (I.e. Governor Broadsides's Niece) but the Imperial Flagship page on LEGO Shop it's the captain's daughter. But in reality there probably is no official answer. Screen shot from game Information on LEGO Shop's Imperial Flagship page:
  17. Pay no attention to the Skull... Along with all the factual information it provided, it also came out with some misinformation. That is one such example.
  18. We should create a thread as well as a webpage on Classic-Pirates.com. But to be fair I've got to put TalonCard's comic scans on Classic-Pirates.com first since he sent them weeks ago, but you can create a new thread whenver you like. Alternatively you can Email the scans as as images to administrator@Classic-Pirates.com and I'll take care of it for you, but that won't be until later in the week.
  19. Any chance of getting scans of those pages? TalonCard has provided us with scans for the Peril in Pirate Cove comic and I've almost got time to put them on Classic-Pirates.com. Should have it done by the end of the week and after that we can keep adding scans from other media.
  20. First publicity image of Blackbeard! Jack and bluecoat Barbossa...
  21. Due to the sad passing of our friend Admiral Zorro we have decided not to proceed with the Seven Seas Contest at this time. This is a very painful decision given the hundreds of hours that went into the Talking Skull Promotion, but Zorro was instrumental to the operations of the main contest and we must make revisions to proceed without him. The prizes for the Talking Skull Promotion will be shipped to the winners as planned. So stay tuned via Blog, Forum, Facebook or Mailing List and we'll let you know what's happening when we know.
  22. There needed to be numbers otherwise it would have been solved too quickly. So... Who figured out the Mystery Prize Code? You needed three components to get this one.
  23. Thanking you all for the praises, but bets not forget SlyOwl designed the Talking Skull MOC!
