I've only ever bought one Action theme set - the Time Cruisers Flying Time Vessel, which I got it because of the grey hull.
But built it anyway and decided I liked it. It's been on display with the LEGO Pirates ship ever since.
Flying Time Vessel
Ahhh the shimmering saphire waters off the Cape of No Hope. Very lovely place to drown, or so I've heard.
Is that a pumpkin-headed brigand I spy tucked away inside the inlet?
It's great the LEGO Group is taking AFOL's feedback, I'm just a bit worried many of them will get sick of doing surveys unless they see a tangible result.
I meant how much do Impulse sets cost in Malayasia...
But more importantly I've just realised I missed the Imperial Flagship at Myer. The sale goes till July 24 or something but the Flagships are probably out of stock by now.
I recall the sale at Target last year and the new Pirate sets were gone in under 48 hours.
I thought LEGO was somewhat more expensive in Australia than other places. Got any examples of prices? How much would an Impulse set cost?
We can then do some caculations and compare the difference!
1.00 AUD = 2.80250 MYR
I display my on shelf and dust is definitely a problem. An airtight display case would be would be really useful although you'd need something custom built if you've got a large collection.
Didn't we have an official survey just a just over a month ago?
I realise its a "quarterly" survey but the last one seems more recent than 3 months ago.
Never mind my original post, it seems the previous survey was posted April 13 and time has slipped away from me!
A big thanks to everybody whose shared information about their browser and screen resolution.
If you have any feedback or technical issues with the new skin please report them in the New Pirate Skin thread.
Do note this skin does not support Internet Explorer 6.
Some impressive work there, but yes, typical news-wank approach to the story. LEGO is another design medium for builders and artists, so why does it have to "the kids who never grew up"? And that's a rhetorical question.
You have done very well then.
I've got two of each ship each for the Skulls Eye Schooner and latest Imperial Flagship.
So including duplicates, how many ships you got all up?
Unfortunately it's not strange in many parts of the world. I've attempt to get a Shipwreck Hideout from an independent retailer and they either don't know what I'm talking about or tell me its a Toys R Us exclusive.
I think this applies to Northern America, UK and Australia, but in other regions the situation is probably different.
I've heard stories of small independent toy stores in Europe still stocking MISB Pirate sets from 90's, which is inconceivable in my part of the world.
It would appear the distrubution of LEGO is quite different. So use this to your advantage and buy 10 6253 Shipwreck Hideouts and sell 9 of them to buyers who can no longer purchase them locally.
For the 2009 Pirate Theme the LEGO Group used the newer, larger sharks which first appeared in the Agent sets.
Would you prefer to see a return to classic sharks if future LEGO Pirate sets are released?
Or maybe it should be the newer shark all the way.
Or perhaps it could be a mixture of both, depending on the set
Or maybe the LEGO Group should
But how do Pirate LEGO fans feel about this change?
Cast your vote and tell us what you think!!!
PS. I swiped the below pictures from a Google Image Search, if anybody has more suitable images to donate to this poll I'd be most grateful.
