  1. Thank you for that clarification. I shall add your comment to the voting thread.
  2. I'm gathering the Black Pearl hasn't surfaced in any Myer stores yet?
  3. The first problem is it doesn't appear to be a personal Facebook account, much due to the name "Entrepreneurs Buurtcomité" and secondly, the account has hardly been used. It appears the only page Liked is Classic-Pirates.com so that looks a little suspicious. For all we know it could be a secondardy account used to enter the Picture Caption Challenge. To verify, please Email your name and postal address to contest@Classic-Pirates.com. This is the information you'd need to provide if you win a prize. Could you please let us know which comment is yours... Thanks for pointing that out, its been corrected.
  4. So whose the skeleton belong to?
  5. Or maybe I just didn't phrase it very well
  6. Indeed the number of units sold is the key factor. I was noting (from my observations) people aren't buying the sets at retail prices, so as a consequence they are more abundant online at significantly lower prices. If they were selling well this would not be the case. That rumour is obsolete as of May 5th. While Terry Rossio has apparently finished the next script and Disney wants to make another, Johnny Depp has said: "Boils down to story, script and filmmaker. It's not something where I would say, 'Let's shoot it next month and get it out by Christmas 2012. We should hold off for a bit. They should be special, just like they are special to me."
  7. Yes, I meant "well below retail price", I shall revise my earlier post to avoid future confusion.
  8. The continued release of Pirates of the Caribbean sets depends on numerous factors. The first major factor is the release of future Pirates of the Caribbean films. At this point its uncertain if there will be another, apparently Disney is interested by Johnny Depp wishes to wait. So without a film to tie-in, this theme may be short lived. Second factor is how well this wave of sets sells. From observation it appears probably not as well as the LEGO Group had hoped. I don't know if its just my perspective, but these PotC sets seem very abundant online and sell well below their recommended retail prices. With the 2009 Pirate sets it was quite the opposite.
  9. I think it depends on where you're purchasing the sets. Through traditional retail outlets I'd say YES! They are too expensive, but I've been buying the sets through online means and been saving upto 40%.
  10. On the flip side this is being reflected in online sales and I'm picking up the POTC for well below retail prices...

  13. Usually grey works best for rocks. But why did you need to ask? Couldn't you have created some small experiments and then compare the two to decide which colour worked best?
  14. The voyage from the Old World be very perilous!
  15. Welcome to the LEGO Pirates Forum Darkwave! Seems like your thread is concerning a MOC you're working on so I'll move it to the Pirate MOC Forum. Also, what does "FNG" stand for?
  16. WhiteFang, what a marvellous review! Admittedly I was somewhat hestitant about purchasing these Pirates of the Caribbean sets but your review has helped to way my opinion. I immediately went and purchased two Captain's Cabins!
  17. That doesn't sound too promising captain. I'm in the process of acquiring the sets so I have all this to look forward to.
  18. Captain Green Hair initially though Jack Sparrow might have turned to wood - but that was before he'd see On Stranger Tides.
  19. Good work on creating these instructions Boomchil! This is something worth adding to our indices.
  20. Thank you for taking the time to educate us. It seems many Australians are frustated by the vast price difference between Australia and other regions so your information helps to provide clarity on the situation. (I also notice the UK enjoys a noticeable price difference on the Queen Anne's Revenge - 102.99 GBP = 157.993 AUD)
  21. As TazManiac has pointed out they're the East India Trade Co. guards seen at the beginning of At World's End.
  22. But wait! There's more! Dreamweb created a thread on this topic 6 year agos - check out Imperial Guards: Bluecoat and redcoat uniforms These be my thoughts as well! But wait! There's more! Dreamweb created a thread on this topic 6 year agos - check out Imperial Guards: Bluecoat and redcoat uniforms These be my thoughts as well! For one, an older Governor Broadside appeared in 6242 Soldier's Fort alongside Red Coats. Wouldn't make much sense for a French governor to appear alongside British troops without a highly ranking officer or dignitary present. Secondly, if you look at the British and French uniforms, you'll note the French uniform differ from the English Naval uniform and in my opinion the bluecoat minifigures more closely resemble the British Navy. Although a professional historian may be able to provide evidence of a period when the French uniforms were closer to the bluecoat minifigures. British Navy - Officier's Uniform British Army - Typical Lobster French Army
  23. Ah yes, I see it now. Thanks TazManiac!
  24. Our LEGO Ambassador, Bonaparte is away this week because he's attending the annual Eurobricks Event. He should be back next week so maybe he can find out if there will indeed be PotC minifigure keychains.
  25. Do you know which nation/faction they're supposed to represent?
