  1. Keeping on top of this and trying to round up as many photos and videos as possible.
  2. Excellent! Currently @Faladrin has been focusing on the Eurobricks Frontpage but sometimes he gets busy so it's good to have back up. Please head over to the Shipyard for further briefing. EVERYONE ELSE... We're still looking for more News Editors, particularly those who can help with posting on Classic-Pirates.com.
  3. We currently have two News Editors, @Roadmonkeytj and @Faladrin. Basically the role is to find one MOC per week in the Pirates MOC subforum and post it on the Eurobricks Frontpage and/or Classic-Pirates.com. ------------------ We are also reintroducing the News Scout position, which involves creating a new topic for MOCs not currently in the Pirate MOC Subforum. These MOCs may be found in topics such as Index: LEGO Ideas Support Thread - Pirates or from external sources like Facebook, Instagram and Flickr. So ideally, potential News Scouts will have a social media presence.
  4. Hmmmm... or maybe it's just an Easter egg... ya know, since it's almost Easter
  5. Probably because the early pirate sets had red cannons... and whether brown cannons looks better is a subjective preference.

  7. Official commercial Your browser does not support the video tag Designer Interview Interview with builders and Time-lapse build BrickVault has a fantastic comparison review on their YouTube channel. Not only does it thoroughly explore the shipwreck island build, but it also compares the new Black Seas Barracuda against the old... plus there's a minifigure comparison as well. Another great review from Solid Brix Studios: Video Review by Ashnflash. Nice, quick visual overview by All New Bricks:
  8. Yeah, they've done a good job capturing the essence of the original sets.. However, the new box art doesn't quite have as much detail in the map background as earlier box art went as far to depict pirates and soldiers. Nonetheless, it's a superb effort! Interview of the LEGO designers: http://www.newelementary.com/2020/03/lego-interview-21322-pirates-designer-madge-carlson.html There are 2 photos of the early sketch models. And also photos of some of the prototypes.
  9. The colour scheme of the upper-deck is is more aligned with that of the earlier pirate sets.
  10. The videos and almost all the photos in one convenient place. Your browser does not support the video tag. Your browser does not support the video tag.
  11. Hey, look! The builders even managed to incorporate an homage to the Indigo Islanders.
  12. LEGO Ideas submission "The Pirate Bay" now officially known as 21322 Pirates of Barracuda Bay to be officially released April 1. Check out more official photos in the LEGO Pirates Forum. Images copyright the LEGO Group
  13. The images have not been confirmed as leaks so for all we know they could be an elaborate fan hoax. But rest assured if we're informed by the LEGO Group we cannot display these images in our forum, we shall remove them as quickly as possible.
  14. Ahoy crew - NEW Opportunity! The LEGO Pirates Forum is excited for the upcoming release of the LEGO IDEAS 21233 Pirates of the Barracuda Bay! So, to ensure the news has adequate coverage, we'd like to recruit enthusiastic new crew members to the News Editor and News Scout positions. Training will be provided and you'll gain access to a hidden forum known as The Shipyard. Special Pirate Tags and Rank Promotions will be awarded to those who do the job well! This it could lead to much bigger things! If you have what it takes to join the crew, please post your interest in this topic and tell us why you're the best candidate for the job!
  15. It's great how the alternate build is an island and a ship. But not another ship in the mould of the Black Seas Barracuda/Brickbeard's Bount/Brick Bounty with the striped red sails...
  16. Oh what a social media story it made!
  17. Frontpage material @Faladrin and @Roadmonkeytj?
  18. It's so long ago now I cannot remember if I ended up posting it
