Basic bricks are cheaper than the fancy ones they used in the space versions though. The track has always been expensive but the other parts in the space set are not cheap either. The airport was a much better value all around though, with nine figures and so many possibilities with numerous pieces.

It will be sad to see you go. Try to keep some of stuff though. Sell the stuff you need to but keep enough that you won't regret it. Not the hard to replace stuff but the LEGO that has the most sentiment and inherent value to you personally. Even if it sits in a box for 20 years, your grandchildren will love it and it will give you good memories to share with them. I would be willing to buy anything in bulk you have for $5 a pound. Not much I know but perhaps a decent way to get rid of any extra parts. If you want to negotiate or discuss this at all PM me.

Blacktron II is actually a really nice series that is sort of black balled because of the excellent series Blacktron I was. In many ways those sets are superior to the originals. 6878 and 6981 are both great sets and thought the figures are not quite as great the sets themselves have a very nice classic feel but have some ingenious use of parts.

I will have to wait and see the final product before I make a judgement on these. I will agree though that I am tired of the red/black and blue/white themes for factions. In a way it is good these are being made through factory and not real sets, as I probably would have much less interest in a offical LEGO space line in these colors. It is nice to see that fan made figures can be/are being done. That gives me hope that one day I could see my own ideas for a faction come to life. Thank you guys for posting your thoughts here. I look forward to seeing what you have to say at the unveiling of the final products. I have a feeling that these will be like dacta sets, but with a better selection of parts included in them.

Don't be fooled, the black classic figure formed the original Blacktron group which is a sort of space illimanti. Blacktron controls everything behind a veil of secrecy! Or something like that. I think it is about time that we got a Neo Classic/Futron space series.

It was a nice theme while it lasted but I would have rather had a more variety and less techinc pieces. Four -six hero figures and one enemy type really seemed kind of weak for a line up. Why couldn't they robots designed new more robust versions or at least a robo-dog or something.

Wow, I had forgotten about this. It has been ages since I made a big battle scene. I am glad people like it still. If you like this battle you should also check out the ninja battle I made on brickshelf. The final battle would not happened here. The multiple enemy forces will have quickly ended all resistance if the battle remained on this location. The "good" forces will have pulled back to a stronghold to await support from allies. Your guess about buying the villagers times is 100% correct though. I could never do this scene again as most of the figures in that scene have been sold off to pay for school. Casualties of war I guess. :'-( I love battle scenes and have been itching to make another one. Perhaps I should start a battle scene contest here at eurobricks. Here is to getting back to building in the next few months. MOC on.

All of the above. Most are in the old red LEGO plastic cases. Others are in bags for selling and yet others are in buckets or PaB cups just to keep them sorted.

Try a moist soft bristle tooth brush (old ones you should throw away work well). If they are really dirty or have stuck on goo try soaking in the hottest tap water you can and then laying them out on a towel to dry flipping them every hour or so. Using a fan helps too.

This looks like it might be built in micro scale. The very front tip looks like it has a clear windscreen but at that size the ship would have to be extremely large. Either way this is definitely nicer than a lot of MOCs I have seen recently. I like the armored feel and the blue engines.

You could look into getting a filter that uses polarity and a metal sheet to collect dust. They are commonly used in industrial facilities but small household models can be found. They are often labeled as allergy remedies type of equipment. They should remove 90% or more dust.

Shopko has SpongeBob, ExoForce, and Mars Mission sets on clearance 30-50% off. Target has the airport set and the large mars mission set clearanced at 30% off. Walmarts also have Avatar sets on clearance if they happen to have any left. Kmart has the mosaic sets on clearance (for 20% off ?). Good luck bargain hunting.

You only have a problem if you have no balance. You should be saving some money if at all possible, of course paying for what is neccessary, and then spreading out what is left on what you want. If LEGO is it then by all means get some. I think most of us have scrapped and saved some here or there just so they can get the little bit extra. My favorite excuse is justify the purchase based on longevity. LEGO lasts practically forever where as video games, food/beverages, and many other things are usually only good the first time around and have very little or no lasting value.

Is LEGO considering using some of the other sets in the future or will there be a new building session. Also, did you or anyone convince them of anything like battle packs, accessory packs or new animals. I understand you probably can't say much but anything you could talk about would be great. Episode 3 ruined nearly all of SW for me. Seriously. The entire battle in Palpatines office was the final nail in the coffin so to speak and did nothing but prove that Lucas is a hack and an idiot. My mom could have made that movie better. Everything from the crappy fighting to the sissification of the "top jedi" or even the way he comes back to attack Windu is all crap. If that wasn't bad enough we then have to put up with Maniquin Skywalker try to convey turning to the dark side and it ends up a half second decision more cheesy than all the previous scene. Qui and Maul redeemed the first movie and allow it to be, though tarnished by Jar Jar and the pointless podrace, a decent movie. Episode two ended up even more faulty but had some decent moments with Jango and the arean abattle was pretty sweet. The third movie was at best a very expensive B movie with cheesy dialogue, bad acting on top of that and spent way to much time on crap effects instead of moving the story along properly. All in all though, Star Wars was much cooler when there was more mystery. The more crap they revealed and added with the EU just made it seem like every other lame scifi world and ruined much of what made the originals great. Lucas should distribute the rights to someone with talent and then retire somewhere far away so as never to be seen again.

It is all in old brown. LEGO does not use old brown. Obvious fake and I am glad. I am tired of skeletons verses people sets and if this was a true series it would be garbage. I want to see some sweet creatures like minotaurs, gorgons, centaurs, satyrs, and hydras. Not to mention some crested helmets, round shields, and javelins on traditional greek soldiers. Some philosophers might be nice too.

I have never liked any of the "undead" enemies in any fantasy product I have seen. Spirits, ghosts, or similar I can handle but rotting bones with no flesh of any kind are just lame. I can't wait to see the more fantasy like creatures though later on. In the mean time I will just have to sell off any skele bits I get so I can get more sweet knights.

Some really nice stuff there. I liked the maxifig classic space and the village full of plants and flowers best.

I really do think the ice planet was one of the best themes LEGO space ever had. It has a classy style and look and this ship looks even better in those colors. The only thing I don't like about it is that it doesn't really belong to the theme as is. I would have liked to see some of the ice chainsaws on arms or perhaps some skis added in for landing gear. Something to help it fit into the icy world.

Ingrates! Anyything is better than the first year single molded craptastic figures we got. At least these ones can pose and have moving parts. I actually like these sets better than last years. My biggest concern is still price though. These sets are simply to expensive for what you get in them. At half off they are a decent buy and at 75% off I would get duplicates.

I really think LEGO is going in the right direction with this line and in general. It seems as though we may be entering a true golden age of LEGO where model designers build the best sets they can that appeal to numerous groups and additional products that will fill in any gaps. I for one really like the new castle line (except for the skeletons) and can hardly wait for the new types creatures and knights to come.

Double yes. Actually, I think Fabuland is not only good for younger builder but it is also ideal for female builders who are more interested in non-conflict themed sets. I would like to see them rework Fabuland and make it better also but it is a series that has so much potential and I think it could make a fair amount of profit for LEGO. Especially now with so much of the actual production being handled in a cheaper fashion, I can see something like this being an option. I just hope that if they do release it again they do some decent advertising. Most people in the US do not even realize LEGO made series like Paradisa or Belville.

Maybe it is one of those pens that has multiple points that you can click down into place or switch by rotating one of the ends. Definitely not a set though.
