  1. The black on exterior of the first floor seems out of place. I would have probably gone with white or left it all yellow. Otherwise, I think this is great. High quality building with excellent details and a more classic feel than even the official LEGO buildings in this size.
  2. 6971 Inter galactic command base. It has a great space station feeling and all the elements needed to make some great alternate versions. It really doesn't get more classic or well designed. Blacktron is a close second though. I really don't think there is a Blacktron set I don't like though. The original Blacktron/Space Police series is to me the pinacle of LEGO space.
  3. Nice fights. Best usefor bionicle I have yet seen.
  4. Haven't seen much of cutty lately. Happy b-day man! A whole quarter century. Do you feel old yet?
  5. Chuck Norris joke are awesome. You have some really nice gifs there. Be sure to keep making them, there really funny.
  6. Costs too much. It would only work well for people within a state or so from California. Tickets would be way too much otherwise. Also it is much easier to travel in the EU or to England. The US covers more land area than all of Europe and has none of the less expensive options they do. Train here would take a week or more and driving would be a nightmare. I know a few people have been interested in doing something like this but it will be very difficult to pull off and I would think that very few people from outside the US would be able to come or help out. There is a lot of planning involved in getting an event together. If you are serious about trying email an admin and ask for some help getting started. Best wishes!
  7. Space police 1 and Blacktron 1. Best ever and I would love to see a new version of them. I also think something with minfigure aliens would be great. Just add an alien head, hands, legs/tenticles or combination of those parts to make some new aliens.
  8. Smaller sets would be better. I think you should perhaps even focus one or more sets with no figures. Those always seem to have more pieces for the money. A lot of people don't have sets built and available either. Lots of people part out sets right away or use them for other mocs. It might be a good idea to go with new sets.
  9. MOC 2 rocks. I like the different and varied builds you have. Three unique and awesome vehicles. Great competition.
  10. I like this a lot. I always like the concept of 3vil. I think you captured it really well. I would probably change the mid section somewhat. It has a sort of bulky flat shape that doesn't seem to fit well with the rest of you design. I might try to mix it up with additional rib looking bone shapes or a different port. The landiong gear works but does seem a little out of place. My favorite parts are the quad gun an the top and the engines. MOC on!
  11. Good eye. I think that is as good a theory as any. I almost think LEGO is keeping an eye on world of warcraft and trying to find a similar vein with sets. Which in my opinion is no bad thing. Orcs and elves would be great to have. My hope is that with the new dwarves and goblins we could be seeing just that.
  12. Exclusives mean that it is only available in a few places for purchase. Often TRU and LEGO shop at home will get those and sometimes Target too. Limited edition means limited quantity and often limited in the number of places it can be purchased. When it comes down to it, especially with Star Wars sets you probably should buy them as soon as you are able. Otherwise you will end up pay double or triple in the future.
  13. I would use half barrels in gray here or if you needed it to be hollow on the bottom using the standard cone with four white macaroni bricks to create the hollow space. Goood luck getting it to work how you want it to. MOC on!
  14. There was a pretty big discussion on CC a while back about an automotive spray (like paint) that would actually bond to plastic premenately altering the color. If done properly it would not leave any marks of any kind or distort the plastic at all. Why do people want some parts in these colors though? I can see having something like white hair which is a natural color but rare but a blue visor. After every complained about KK for the last few years and now they would want bright blue or green parts for there knights? Silly if you ask me. Of course this could be one of those items used for bragging rights. As if a little bit of plastic could make someone better or superior to someone else. That is like people finding something and then flaunting it. I might be impressed if they actually made it but finding or buying it means nothing.
  15. Great set and a nice review. I think this one is a must for the SW fans. I really like that is playable and well built.
  16. The sole bastion od sanity is taking a break. Scary times ahead. ;-) See you when you get back.
  17. Old isn't bad. I will take an older acter with actual talent over some pretty boy anyday. This movie is going to be great.
  18. Not sure I like this one much. I like many of the new parts but the boat isn't that great and I would rather get each seperately so I can avoid the whole skeleton army. Nice review though!
  19. Mmmmm. Blacktron goodness. I love it! Blacktron is the best.
  20. I would have to say a wee bit over 500,000. Not sure exactly, but I will before year end. I will be the first to say I have too much. And yet not enough of some parts.
  21. My horns and the flame pieces in the hilts were also glued. I am sure LEGO has reasons for it but the glue really ruins the whole LEGO quality aspect for me. A number of my pieces are disfigured due to the glue. Glue for the lose!
  22. Sweet looking turret. It looks like it has heavy armor and it has plenty of weapons. My only tiff with it is that it is so short. I like the blue and trans orange color scheme.

    Compromise!

Try getting or using some of the bigger click hinges. You can get great shapes in just a few minutes. Another thing to try is the artistic approch of sketching. Try building something in the general shape and frame and give that to the kid to play with and then go back and flesh out the idea. If you need ideas there are plenty of options to emmulate on brickshelf.
  24. Actually, I am considering not finishing it. If I do finish it I will add a wall on the back, put on some sails and rigging and call it done. But I have other things I would rather be building and I am trying to reduce my LEGO and convert it into money for tuition. Many of the pieces, especially the pirate ones, are on the list to be sold for sure. Parting the whole thing out will have to be done within a month or so and I am not sure if it is worth the trouble of finishing it. I am glad people like it though. I was trying for a floating fortress and I think it comes close. It is certainly very large.
  25. Well I missed the deadline. I actually had this finished and the pictures online by the deadline but was away from the internet and didn't have the time to submit it while out of town. The other pictures can be seen here! Nice entries from everyone though. I voted for Jipay's, it has a classic feel I just can't get away from. MOC on!
