This new Space Police stuff isn't looking so great for me. I like the original colors and setup. The aliens may end up nice but I don't want car chases and gold heists. Who needs gold in space anyway? I will have to wait for the final product to be revealed but unlike the new castle and pirate sets which I like, the little bit of SP3 I have seen fails to get me excited. I guess I will have to be content with what I have of the old stuff and maybe pick up a few aliens.

I don't care about the color change for the grays or brown. I prfer the older colors because they are warmer but I am not bothered much by them. I absolutely hate flesh tones of any kind though. The stupid NBA sets changed everything and now every licensed set has to include them. Other than the sale/clearance StarWars, Batman, and Indy sets I bought to part out and sell, I have not purchased one set containing flesh figures. I do not want any flesh colored figures. Ever! So, now I only buy sets with yellow figures and the occasional set on sale with the intent to sell the evil fleshies and keep the parts I like. I love the new dark brown and I am glad that the brown color was changed so that we could have a light and dark version of brown. Now if we could just get more parts in the dark colors I would be set.

Is this the way LEGO Company treats their volunteer workers?
SuvieD replied to LegoBuster's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Well since I know LEGO reads this particular thread I will now openly state something of potential value for myself and possibly for others. In the event you do more charity work which involves travel of any kind, a short or lengthy period of time to refund my expenses, and one in which I recieve free LEGO products on top of it all, please feel free to contact me immediately with details. I will gladly go through any such effort whether delayed or not. It would after all benefit three separate parties: LEGO, myself (travel/free sets), and most importantly as a charity for others. If there is a temporary expense on my part I would be happily pay it for such an experience. I sorry it didn't work out for LegoBuster but I will gladly accept an opening in his postion next year in Finland or any other opening in Europe or worldwide for that matter. So Camilla, if you have anything for me feel free to let me know! I enjoy chairty work, love travel, and have worked for years with young people in which I was often reimbursed late if at all, I am a perfect candidate for your program. -
Not bad for a first attempt. I think if the tank itself was bulked up a bit to look like a tank it would be better. Right now it is a little skimpy. Using the same basic transformation setup with a more armored body would work nicely. You may also want the cannon to detach and act as stand alone gun for the robot. Right now the head looks a little silly with a great pipe stick out of it.

Well you asked for it. I am glad to see it has become another studless space effort. LEGO is the stud and it burns my eyes to see builders ignore them. It is sad to see so much of this without studs though. The interior is very spacious and gray. I am not sure what type of design you wanted but it seems empty. Personally, if I had to live in space on a ship for months or years at a time I would want it to be a little more home-like or at least comforting. Gray and open says prison yard, cement corridor, or metal box to me. Obviously, if this is a military ship them the plain and boring fits well. The outside is divided into an interesting section and a boring section. I am not sure why a vessel of an kind would expose whatever the greebles are meant to represent unless they need to be exposed in which case, this shoud not be a military craft. I know that adding that sort of stuff makes it look "pretty" but why all the pretty parts on the outside instead of the inside where the figures are? The color scheme is somewhat bland but perhaps that is the goal. There are nice details throughout. The main walkway marked by yellow inside, the turret, the ladder, and the little angled window up top are all nice bits. I can't say what I would do if this were mine because it is not my building stlye. I would have used more color, shrunk the size, armored the whole of the outside, decorated the whole of the inside or made it more comfortable, and would have added loads more transparent parts everywhere especially in or around the guns. In other words, I would start from scratch. You are not me though. I would like to see more of the ship completed of at least get an idea of what it will look like when finished. MOC on!

I would suggest something on Bricklink itself. But keep in mind, Bricklink in general and the stores it features are trying to generate revenue. Anything that cuts revenue may not be implemented. Remember, Bricklink isn't a store. It is a site for stores. If you want to find a store that sells everything you need in one stop them you must understand the price will be higher. Just like a convience store on any corner, they will make things easier for you but it will come at a cost. If you want better prices you need to be willing to bargain hunt at multiple stores. It comes down to what is most important to you. If you value a bargain and the thrill of the hunt you will not have any problem searching multiple stores. If you value time and efficiency more than the bigger stores with tons of stock will be more appealing, yet expensive. If you can't be happy with either then do what many Bricklink users do, buy the LEGO sets that contain the pieces you want, part them out and sell the ones you don't want in an effort to break even or possible turn a little profit. Oh and in case you are wondering, the third option is infinitely more time consuming and you may end up with a lot of parts you never wanted in the first place. If you really need the parts cheaper it never hurts to ask for a coupon, especially on higher $ orders. Most stores are willing to give 5-10% coupons easily. Besides, if Bricklink was cheaper and easier to buy from, do you honestly think there would be anything within your price range left to buy? I personally have sold multiple $100+ dollar orders to a person who has 500+ buying only feedback. There are collectors, or should I call them hoarders, out there that would are already driving the average prices up because the demand for many parts exceeds all common sense in pricing. I am also married and am going to school full time with an average of 19 credits per semester plus working part time. It can take time to get exactly what you want, but the alternatives are buying full sets for just a few parts or buying cheaper bulk amounts on ebay and hoping you get some parts you want. Either way is moe expensive and you are stuck with parts you don't need. Bricklink is already a time saver; you must pay for that or be willing to invest the time to save a few dollars. Good luck in your buying.

Most of the time with Avatar MOCs you only get characters or custom decal work. You have gone beyond and worked on content that is so important to the show that I am sorely tempted to go back and watch more Avatar, something I do not have time for. The fissure is very nice and if it was just a little longer it would be great for a duel in a fanfiction MOC or something. The real treasure is the earth bending pillars. They are a little short but the mechanism is inspired and the end result, mixed colors and all, is fabulous. I am for the first time ever excited to see an Avatar MOC and even more so in anticipation of the arena. LEGO dropped the ball on what could have been an awesome series of sets. It is nice to see a what could have been. What types of tricks or ideas have you found for water and air bending?

He is a space man. That gives me even more hope that the new Space Police theme will be great.

I would consider a revised color scheme. You are better off using white or black. It is cheaper and more abundant. Tan is in only three sets, only one with the bottom tube and that HP set was only available for something like six months. Best of luck if you do stick with it.

THE OLD Official Eurobricks Straightshooters List

Holodoc needs a add though he deserves two! -
Uuuhhnnn! Necroposters come here into the catacomb where I might devour your flesh! Mwahahahahuuuuuunnh! Why would you comment on a post from 2004, four years ago?

I have always enjoyed the brick built robots from LEGO, even the less flashy ones from the 80's space sets.

THE OLD Official Eurobricks Straightshooters List
SuvieD replied to The Middleman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Please add +1 for Whitefang. Great to trade with! -
I always find figures with blank faces sort of truly creepy and scary. The more figures the scarier they are, especially if they just stand about in odd places doing nothing in particular. Also, gigantic empty egg shells or even empty coffins say spooky. Having the monsters actually there could ruin the effect if they are not very spooky but the unknown "what came out of that" type of thought is scary.

I prefer the classic look better. The classic look with a trans yellow visor is even better than that. I have come to hate figures with two different color arms and hands. Making one or two for yourself seems fine but moc value bottoms out when you need a dozen figure with the same color arms. These are nice though. I am actually hoping a second futuron would keep the old patterns but add new colors like green, orange, or any of the sand colors.

I think this is the first time I have ever said this but I think the canopy should be replaced with an orange version. The blue, orange, and neutrals work really nicely together but that cockpit sticks out like a sore thumb to me. Other than that though, I would say you have a fine little craft there. Excellent use of not so excellent parts and a good moderation on the extras that lets it look interesting but not get over done.

I don't know who she is but . . . I want this little lady even more! 2009 castle is going to be so awesome.

This is so cool! Very impressive in both size and details, something most builders do not achieve in tandem. The Blacktron II scheme works well in this style. and the dark light version has such a sweet spacey feel. The ship seems sort of compressed though and I don't understand the long skinny wings at all. Something this size doesn't need them in atmospheric conditions so I assume they are more for the weapons and for looks than use in which case the ship seems so fat and stubby when compared. Of course that is just minor in the overall coolness and I am sure there are multiple factors in settling on this design. This MOC really shines in the interior areas. It has both a practical placement of items and greebles and also keeps a scifi mobile space base feel. The extras, furniture, weapons, lights, computers, and the mobile robot add so much class to this. Congrats on 2nd place!

This is the greatest set ever created in the history of LEGO. If I can afford it I will be getting more than one for sure. There is nothing to dislike and everything to love about this set. Even the gimmicky water wheel hammer is a nice addition. So many little details, extras, and goodies make this so sweet. Unbelievable. It feels like a dream. LEGO does love us

Sets with sorted bags; worth the extra expense?
SuvieD replied to Siegfried's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I don't build lego sets as they are supposed to be anyway. The cheaper the set the better, regardless of packaging. I would by lego sets loose, and crammed into tiny plain brown boxs if I could get them cheaper. -
Fabuland is sort of like a town based gender neutral Belville series. It has loads of really cool extras and parts with okay figures (unmodified) and a bunch of <insert that tiresome argument> crap parts most people wouldn't ever use. At least that is how I see it.

What baddies would you like to see in a new Space Police line?
SuvieD replied to Adam's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
UFO with orange and yellow accent colored figures, new colors of helmets, 33% less printed parts, brand new laser blasters, a new assault alien cyborg minifigure, and transparent neon orange canopy and glass parts - including a printed helmet and armor in trans for the UFO warlord leader. I would be happy with a decent Blacktron III though. My biggest concern in another green based Space Police. I am in love with the gorgeous trans red parts and I am hoping for its return. Green just doesn't say galactic space protectors like red does.
