  1. This is more classic than classic should be allowed. I am in love with this setup. The figure choices are perfect and all those little details in the background make this even better. My favorite detail is the eyelashes on the sheep troopers. Nothing like a friendly and cute face staring at you while you get blasted. Would have like to see a C3PO and Leia, not sure how you could pull off a non-humanoid droid for R2 though.
  2. I am appreciating more and more Blacktron II. The figures are not a cool as the original Blacktron but the sets I think are the superior. The original Blacktron base is the exception but the Blacktron II base is no slouch either. This is a very nice set, thanks for bringing it all back.
  3. I do like the classic sets. Mostly for nostalgia and those nifty logos and printed parts. Sadly, I must say that classic space will never be as interesting to me as the sets that followed. Futuron, SP1, and Blacktron remain for me the golden age of space sets. I am jsut glad that this series was started and did well enough to warrant the expansion and improvement of LEGO Space. I do like the forklift a lot. Great review. Looking forward to some of the "newer" sets.
  4. Calling someone names for expressing their opinion is, I promise you, a stupid thing to do. Especially someone who has invested so much time and effort into making this a nice site. I would think you may want to apologize for being rude. I also agree that the color change ruined the 2004 sets no more obviously than with the horrid racial "flesh" colors. Even on clearance I could not bring myself to buy more than a few HP sets from that year. In fact I have not purchased many sets from any theme with the blatantly stereotypical race colors used to represent actual people. I still think that the greatest mistake LEGO ever made was to change the system minigfigure scale licensed sets to "flesh-toned" colors. LEGO will never get the thousands of dollars I would have spent on HP, Starwars, Batman, and now Indy sets I would have gotten. The best year for HP for me was 2002. Largest range of sets, prices, figures, and all sorts of brand new for that time pieces that are great. Year one was nice but year two simply had the better sets. Though I would agrue that the best set of the entire line was in year three with the quiditch supply store. What a perfect little set that was.
  5. I have only purchased something like five sets for myself (not to sell) for full price in my lifetime. The HP graveyard is one of them. The shack is not nearly as interesting unless you really want those figures over the grave yard figures. Your best option is to get both if you can but it should not be that hard or expensive to get just the figures from one or the other if you need to.
  6. Idea #1 I would like to request a fabuland-esque theme. Unlike the older larger scaled version though it could be made in minifigure scale with slightly oversized head molds in the shapes of animals. It would still have the focus on simple and child friendly themes with the round windows, tiled roof parts and colorful designs but it would be at the normal minifigure scale. It could literally be a remake of the older sets in a new system sized style. I would prefer it to remain as true to the original concept as possible and use as many original parts as possible or, if the molds are destroyed, a comparable part in a familiar design. The parts would be better in the standard hard ABS but could also be made in the newer rubber like the heads that are used for starwars. These parts, especially the heads, would also have applications beyond just a new fabuland. A bird or cat head could be used for an ancient eygptian series or set. Any of them could be an alien race in an upcoming space, futuristic, or even town based series where a ufo crashes. These could also be used in a fantasy setting too. The other parts like round windows, car parts, roof tiles, trees, and many others could be used in a future town series easily and like any well design LEGO part they would find application in any number of themes. Idea #2 A licensed product with Nintendo. Nintendo is the largest and most family based videogame company in the world. They have dozens of instantly recognizanble characters such as Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Princess Peach, Samus, Link, Zelda, Ganon, Kirby, Donkey Kong and many more. These characters are in over 100 different game titles and sequels spanning nearly thirty years. Sets made with these characters or any of the hundreds of others Nintendo has rights to would, like the StarWars brand LEGO sets, be collectible with adults both male and female, teens, and children. There is a strong following within nearly every age group and like LEGO, the Nintendo products are internationally successful with adults and children. Set designs could be taken directly from any of the games Nintendo would allow. A Hyrule temple of time, Bowsers flying airship, Samus' Federation class gunship, Donkey Kongs tree top house and many others could be instant successes. Like StarWars with its clones and storm troopers, Nintendo themed sets (which could include battle packs) could be filled with all manner of army builder type figures. Kremlings, Goombas, Metroids, Moblins, Kobolds, Paratoopas, Toadstools, Space Pirates and many others could be successful sets or included to make sets more appealling than just the instantly recognizable lead characters in Nintendo games. There are even the lesser known games that feature dozens more characters and ideas that could be used for future sets. The Fire Emblem series, Wario and his cohorts, and plenty of other lesser known but well desired characters and sets would be very welcome. I know this may be an impossible suggestion but I would feel better if I knew that TLC knew about this and that there are hundreds of AFOLs looking for this exact partnership to occur along with thousands of parents and children who would gladly buy these types of sets to both play with and collect as a truly collectible item. Idea #3 A table top game series. LEGO would not even have to produce any new parts, or molds though both would add to the concept. There are a number of tabletop games currently in production but I think that a LEGO based version would be not only superior in quality but also in design. It could be themed in castle, pirate, ninja, roman, space, a combination of them all or something totally different. This is just an idea and I don't really want to try and define what it should be. I think that this is something TLC could use to draw in new AFOLs and teens that view LEGO products as just toys and allow LEGO to expand its market to a group of people who are doing this on there own with LEGO. The direction the tabletop game could go should be decided with the help of the ambassadors and the community. It should not rely on cards like the adventurers sets did though. This should be a miniatures adventure or battle style game. Something collectible, expandable, customizable, and unique to the LEGO experience.
  7. I use the same drawers for my LEGO too. Great job sorting and labeling. Now for the MOCing! I have found the clear Plano fishing tackle boxes (Walmart/Kmart) really nice to use as well and they can be set on end easily for storing on a shelf. Best of luck to all the sorters out there.
  8. Gylman with his amazing collection of Fabuland keychains is the true start of Fabuland mocs and love here at EB. KNOW YOUR ROOTS!
  9. I like it except for the red parts. I would remove them completely and I am not sure they need to be replaced. I like the green variety by itself and the landing is really nice. Good build. MOC on!
  10. Nice Blacktron feel to it. The pilot needs a solid black visor though. None of that see thru nonsense for Blacktron! I would prefer an old school feel myself and switch out the brick wings for plates. One control panel should be enough for such a small ship and you might consider stationary landing gear or some other way to land. Very nice look overall though. Welcome to the greatness of Blacktron. MOC on!
  11. 1x2 black modified plate with handle, you know the one, it is used to connect ladders 2x2 flags and many other pieces. I have a gallon bag full of them, something in the thousands of them. In fact I have som many piece right now that I doubt I could use each of them in a moc in my life time. Unless of course I moved back in with my parents and devoted my life to building mocs while living off of someone elses money.
  12. I had read that magnet were done away with but that only really means no revival for M-tron. Sad news if true.
  13. Well, this is a failure for me. I don't like town and the scientist has one of the stupidest faces LEGO every made. The space figure is the only figure that has any value for me at all and I don't see these sets at anything less than $9.99. I wouldn't buy these for even $5. If it was a specific series of figures like Space, Castle, Town, etc, I could see getting some but this is just a waste for me. Hope somebody enjoys these.
  14. I like the new steps this series is taking but I am ready for it to switch to something more classic. Blacktron 3 and Space Police 3 anyone? Maybe something totally new, space pirates or something cool like that.
  15. I like the design. Very sleek looking. Tactically perhaps not so sound though. This thing is an accident waiting to happen with so many missles it wouldn't take much to turn this into ball of flame, killing the pilot and likely his allies nearby. I would recommend additional armor to protect the missles or perhaps a dropship like exterior to protect the vehicle until targets are acquired. A moderate armored helicopter or something could work out nicely. It could also double as a decoy for enemy fire up in the sky while the heat is just seconds away just below the tree line. I do think this would benefit fro a little extra color. The dark green is looking nice but it just seems to be missing a little color.
  16. I got two cutlass and a silver knight sword, along with the gold katana and dblay knives. Either way though, this is a great little set.
  17. Actually the only product line to see more clearance isle space than Galidor was Harry Potter. That is why it isn't around anymore. How many Harry figures can you use?

    MOC: Mosquito

Hey, it isn't studless. I counted 20 studs at least. That being said it is still too unlegoish for me. Nice little ship though. Why is it the mosquito? I expected longer legs, big wings, and a stinger. Instead I see a cute little scout craft. I can see dozens of the little ships buzzing around a larger one, so in that sense it works. I would have done it differently but it is looking really nice as is. I like all the little correctional thrusters everywhere. It looks like it would fly circles around most ships.
  19. Palpatines arrest will happen no matter what whether now from voting or in the future without. Calamari is the best option. Something in the $30-40 range would be great.
  20. Diggin up posts from the dead. Sets are for ninnies and collectors! The real question is can you build cool space stuff of which some sets do belong.
  21. The latest mars mission sets are very cool. I like the designs, play factor and the new alien leader is also nice. I am not sure what level of fan involvement there was but these are certainly not just desinged for eight year olds.
  22. And also one for ExoBuilder who is a worthy and friendly trader.
  23. Merged for the betterment of space! I for one like my space tag. Though, I wouldn't mind a nice big blue one like Sne's. I just don't want to see it go all together.
  24. Fast looking and in sleek black. The dream of every space fairing dreamer. Would be nifty to see it in a minis battle. MOC on!
  25. Ah, an uplink as God intended him to be from the start. I like the setup and design, blocky enough to be LEGO and with enough of the smooth new type parts to look cool. MOC on!
