This looks great. Except for the exo force figure looks out of place. I say drop him for a Blacktron 1 figure. Exo force is good but nothing compared to the older space figures that didn't have names and moronic hair. ;-)

No your notalone in that thought. Remember though that younger members have ample amounts of free time thanks to anti child labor laws. Stupid laws. ;-) :-P Exo force is very shallow in comparison to what bionicle has become. It will never be as big unless LEGO revamps it to be very Gundam and releases more characters and enemies.

I find it sort of funny how people will talk about money (in general) for post after post but when someone puts a MOC up it only gets a few people who say next to nothing. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks eh? Everyone one knows the US gets the best prices. I am fairly confident we also buy the most LEGO product as saturation here versus countries like Germany and Denmark is far less and the average US citizen either has the extra money to spend or uses credit to do so anyways. . . . and now back to your regularly scheduled topic.

I agree with Apo's comments. I haven't had time to build much lately so right now I am on the opposite end of that. I really want to build and get some mocs made. I have been where you are too. A contest can help push you. It also helps greatly if you have people near you who build and collect. Try doing something fresh. It may inspire you in your technic building. MOC on! Even if it is only four mocs per year. :-(

I agree with Asuka in that they are sort of flat. Other than that though I really like these. Simple clean designs that look very classic. Newer parts and some extras along with the studs up look make for some interesting designs not possible with the classics. Build for you, the way you want. Don't worry about what other people think. You can't develop a style if you are copying everyone elses. the second half of 2007 will be a space year for me. I have had a ton of little sketches for ships and mechs stacking up. Once I sell off some excess LEGO I have I will begin my building.

I like your setup. It has a very nice layout that is instantly recognizable. If I would make a recommendation it would be to add more variety to the gound in plants and colors and to make your trees trunks rounder instead of squared. This is the one I did if you want to see what I mean. Brickshelf Endor

I think most people have nothing better to say so they just complain. Like how people asked what sets could be done and most people replied none without giving it any thought. Does anyone know what will be in the movie yet? I don't like the spiderman theme much myself but that is because I only needed one spiderman figure. Once I have it why bother with the rest of them? Another thing that really bothered me was the flesh tones. I would have gotten a lot more sets if only they had the non-racial yellow color. I can see Spidey3 sets doing fairly well, especially if they put them in the $5-$30 range mostly.

That door is in Fire Fortress I wish I had more of them. Awesome part.

I don't think anything will change this series. I want to see something along the lines of Blacktron/Space Police 1 next go around. No stupid gimmicky junk though. No more tubes, launchers, catapult or light up weapons. Simple classic designs, small bases, repair robots and scouting type ships. All in simple color schemes with simple logos.

I have played Zelda from the original until now. No Zelda game has ever captured the feel of the original. Whether that is good or bad that is hard to say. The best Zelda game in my opinion is actually Link's Awakening for the gameboy (old school gray colorless version). I don't understand why people think Zelda games are hard. Compared to the first two games, each and every Zelda game has been obnoxiously easy. Wind Waker being more of a watered down childs version of the Zelda franchise. I beat everything in OoT with only three hearts and one bottle except the final form of Ganon. I would have beaten the game but due to sweaty hands missed my final strike and was killed. I borrowed the game to someone and they erased my file because it only had three hearts. *sing* I do have to say that Twilight is certainly better than any Zelda made in the last ten years. Story, art and the amount of exploration/discovery are all top notch. Even with all the hype it did not dissapoint me in any respect other than the tutorial which was a litlle draw out and the relative ease of some of the enemies and dungeons. I do look forward to the next Zelda game and expect it to be better than Twilight.

For building in LEGO stick with smaller to start out. Try making a dragon the size of the Viking versions without copying them. Don't worry about the colors either. Just work on a practice dragon or two. Then when you think you have an idea of what you want build the real thing in the size you want. Just remember that the bigger you want the more supportive the movable parts need to be. If you make it large like the ones in the link used multiple click hinges. If smaller try using bionicle parts for better movement. Post pictures when you are done or if you get stuck and need advice.

Wow, zombie topic type revival. Thanks for all the comments. I didn't really have the time to make this what I wanted. So for me it is not so great. I don't have room right now to have anything built unless it is smaller. I will have more room in the future though. I am getting an itch do do another mega battle scene and that time of year is coming up again. I hope everyone makes a battle scene this year.

Do you collect anything else Lego wise or do you only focus on Blacktron1? Anything on this scale I mean. I could not even begin to go into details on something this grand. Some day my space base will half this big. Very cool stuff Brian. Oh and congrats on being married for so long!

Studless sucks! Nice shapes and designs though. I like the blockiness of the police Mecha. His large MOCs are all starting to look the same to me. I know each is different but it too similar to his others for me.

Nearly every Target I went to was almost completely cleaned out. I did get some Zamor Sphere packs for $.49 a piece. I am not sure what to do with them but they are very cool looking. If you are lucky enough to find 75% LEGO more power to you.

These proto pic are lame. I want to see the final products before I start commenting. I am not a fan of the whole "undead" theme and I think it is entirely the wrong direction for castle LEGO. I still think a look-a-like Lord of the Rings type castle series would be better. I am glad I held onto my wolf/dog figures though. No skeleton army will ever get past a pack of staving dogs. Now if it were orges, trolls or goblins I might have to worry but a few thousand bones walking up is simply free delivery on take out.

Droid and Clone battle packs available on US S@H

Obviously these are doing well and demand is high. Backordered until June or April on both of them. That is half a year almost. How are they possibly going to keep retail stores in stock with this much demand? Insane! -
I like this series. I want to see in more detail the sets and parts in them especially the aliens but really it looks like a nice series. Certainly better than the first LoM. The best two are the medium sized ships. I think they both look great. WIth a little help this whole series could be modded and mocced into something very CS like. Color wise the humans get the best of it and the aliens get the rehash. I was actually hoping for something more original than the black/trans neon green/lime color scheme that keeps getting used. Overall I would give these a thumbs up all around except for the oversized junk base. I can't wait to see them in detail. This is not classic space but I am a bigger fan of the SP, Blacktron, M-tron series' anyway which revolved around conflict and monoploies. Maybe next year we can get a decent redo of the UFO series with those awesome helmets and armor.

I want these for parts. Not so impressed by the vehicles but the base looks nice. I really don't need more robots though. Maybe I will bricklink for parts I want from these. The last one certainly looks cool though.

So my friend walked into a Best Buy, and bought a PS3
SuvieD replied to 5150 Lego's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Aw, you guys are too hard on the Playstation. The fact is that in a year or so it will have exclusive games that will make you drool and beg your friends to play on their system. I personally say get a Wii instead. I brought it over to my family's house over Christmas and it was a hit. Truly, a system for the whole family. To each his own. Don't give people such a hard time though. That would be like always telling the train/town people that it sucks and space/mecha is so much better, when in reality the serve two different crowds. Besides everyone knows that Ninja/castle is by far the best theme ever! ;-) X-D -
I am not sure 70 is so far off. I am at 30 hours already and I just started the temple of time. Of course I have no idea how much longer I have before I finish. I really enjoy the atmosphere of the game and have found myself wondering around different areas just to see what the artist put into the game. I am not rushing though and I like to revisit places just to see if people say new things.

If you get a chance try out Rayman do it. Easily recommended.

I would really like to see parts in new colors, flags, barding, helmets in light bley and weapons in the new metal color parts (gold, metallic silver, copper). More animals like a black or white dog, some new birds maybe. Food items like bread, fruit, or cups, trays and jugs. Non-military figures but not neccessarily civilians. Princes, princesses, nobles, lords, clergy, queens, maybe a few merchants or artisans too. A new weapon might be nice. Something we don't have already. A club or a short mace&chain would be cool. I would really like to see a tower with walls on all sides that opens up for play and a stable that also opens. I would like to see some minstrals with instruments. Bricks with a falcon and a dragon sculpture head on the front like the tan lion one. That's my wish list regardless of anything that is coming out at any time.
