Thanks - it was meant to replicate the style if not the specific design. And yes, he is a daring cove, although normally from the quarterdeck. But then again, why shouldn't a friend to Terraversa be allowed to stroll the streets of a Terraversan town? Capture would certainly lead to some form of reaction! And then again, I am looking forward to gm'ing these two adventures further in court - for as Fraunces says: Dum-DUM-DUM!

[OL-Troop] Fatu Hiva Line Infantry
Bregir replied to The Sarge's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Excellent troop of the line! I particularly like the standard and the drum (thanks for the breakdown - very clever!) and the setup with targets etc. is nice. Where are those cool muskets from? -
[OL- Troop Raising] New Artillery Companies
Bregir replied to merc's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
The Joint command of the Royal Navy and Army is definitely eyeing this with some suspicion! Excellent set of troops - both their general design and their implements (particularly rammers and slowmatch!). I too would love to see a close-up and potentially breakdown of the guns - when I tried yesterday, gun designs turned out to be... difficult! -
Convoys/fleets: Commodores, Admirals, and National Heroes
Bregir replied to Capt Wolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
If you had proposed to make it established lore, I would probably protest, as it is nowhere established that the Royal Navy (the proper one, that is) lost several large battles during that war. However, here you are giving a romanticized story of some nicknames awarded a national hero. They are bound to be... biased ;) So no protests from me (other than the token one about "propaganda" :P ) Also: Very nice picture! Oleon certainly leads the Brick Seas in the arts! (if not in innovation, bravery, prowess in battle, civilisation, or anything that matters AT ALL! ;))- 51 replies

Absolutely excellent little build and very enticing story! I am most interested in seeing how this develops, although Olean scheming always makes the skin of any Corlander creep! The scene from the ship is nice too.

Investigating Nola Mar Based on the encoded document, Cooke has taken ship to Nola Mar to investigate matters first hand. With a pass from L'Olius to travel freely across Terraversa, he should have had no trouble with local authorities, but having first been denied disembarking the fishing boat that brought him there, Cooke had had to find other means. During the dark of night, he had been dropped up at a nearby fishing pier and snuck past the patrols and harbour watch. Now he was lurking in the shadows watching cargo being unloaded and stored in a warehouse cellar. During his observations, one of the boxes was dropped and burst open, showing its contents of arms. While the workmen largely spoke Terraversan, a uniformed officer and an official were heard to speak a different tongue - Cooke could not make out if it was Mardierian or possibly... Olean? Weapons, lock-down, and foreign involvement? Something was surely afoot! He was starting to doubt if he would be able to get back out to see and return safely to Westface.... ________________________________________________________________________________________________ Full view of the build:

During the Juniper wars, the 12th Grenadier Regiment was tasked with holding the flank of the main forces. However, in the bug-infested marshlands, the crack regiment quickly grew restless, and the colonel decided to rewrite the front slightly, and led his grenadiers through Hillswell Marsh against an enemy of vastly superior numbers. However, the enemy forces consisted mainly of militia, and against the Grenadiers, they were routed with ease. While this campaign was largely irrelevant in the grander scheme of things, it is widely celebrated by the regiment. Some of the Grenadiers have made their way to the colonies, where their relentless storm will sweep away enemies of the Crown! ______ An entry for the Glory of Corrington - it is nothing special, but I did my best in creating some interesting poses for the assault. (And really found the limits of what you can do without disassembling minifigs...)

[COR - Sistershiping] So many ships so little time...

Currently, you have done nothing wrong - the rules have been unclear. I suggest you wait until we have clarified the rules. :) -

[COR - Sistershiping] So many ships so little time...
Bregir replied to LM71Blackbird's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Capt Wolf has brought this up in court, and we will come up with a clearer policy. I personally generally support a very limited sistershipping policy (perhaps max one ship at any one time per player to keep your darling), but we discussed this extensively in court, and the compromise was 20 ship-levels per player. Some felt it would be too limited if someone lost too many ships at once and couldn't build new. I think we will stick to this, not to open that discussion up again. -
[COR - Sistershiping] So many ships so little time...
Bregir replied to LM71Blackbird's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Before this turns into a big discussion, let me give you my view: Sistershipping builds have one overarching purpose: To inform other players that ships are sistershipped. (So no one can raise a secret fleet) This means that they should: Cover the story Other players must be made aware that new ships are licensed The new ships must be named and brought into the story Link to the original mocs Specify what the "new ships" are (names) None of the above requires more than one build. However, on top of that, in BoBs we generally operate with the concept of "sufficient effort". Hence, you could argue that a sistership build for 10 large ships would require more than one for 1 small ships, but this is not explicitly specified anywhere. This is not a hard rule, but a rule-of-thumb. However, *if* the build is repurposed and no new effort has been put into it (I have not investigated this), I agree we can question whether sufficient effort has been put into it. As Kolonialbeamter says, close-ups with some life in it, a new interior, etc. could be the answer. Please let me know if this leads to any questions. I will see if I can find 5 minutes to clarify the sistershipping rules, as I know they are not entirely clear. -
Plastic production is super expensive. The machines are huge and the molds are super expensive. Short production runs are not cost effective, which is why they try to limit the active brick assortment at any given time. 3D printing is an entirely different process, and can't produce the number of bricks needed, and it is too expensive per part. So I think you need to give them some leeway. And if you are needing parts, why not bricklink them?

Nice clean scene - As Capt Wolf says, it may benefit from some imperfections, particularly as a digital build does not have the imperfections in colours and texture that real bricks have. I seem to remember the digital tools have the ability to show the individual bricks more, which is something to consider. I also like the story, and will be looking forward to following it!

Simple but effective build. The white/dark red colour scheme always looks nice, and I like how you have combined full bricks with plates. Archways and roof works well, although I would probably raise the end walls so that they enclose the roof. Also, nice to see you back and to see some life in Dragonstone!

The "parrot perspective" used here in both pictures and storytelling is excellent, and in general, it is a really nice build!

[ESL-FB] Captain Pellegrino gets a ship
Bregir replied to Capt Wolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
You might say that, but I really like the build! Excellent use of printed pieces, and I like the door design too. Erhm... The ownership history of the Aqua Fina is a little bit clouded over for me, but don't worry, I won't be asking any questions...- 4 replies

[GAS - FB] The rises and falls of Bogdan the Unstoppable
Bregir replied to Ross Fisher's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
This has been an excellent read! I do not think I have had the pleasure of commending you for your work, but this is absolutely examplary for how to flesh out an npc nation, and how to tell an epic story in (excellent) little builds! I am really hoping to see more of the Great Alliance states in the future. Great work! -
Brethren of the Brick Seas (BoBS) Intro Thread, Era II
Bregir replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
@LM71Blackbird @Capt Wolf @gedren_y I just recently sistershipped two ships (for the Gentleman Privateer) in one build, and it did not seem to cause any issues "reusing" the sistershipping build. The original moc link is of course unique. So I think we can assume you can use the same build. If I find it causes me trouble with the sheets, I will IMMEDIATELY let you know, trust me! -
@Captain Dee & @Kwatchi I will check if the transaction went through (and potentially correct it if not) Thanks for the assistance and sorry for the tardiness!

Yes. :)

That would be much appreciated, Captain. Roll the die as described in the rules, and then pay out the money in a normal transfer (the naval licensing court as sender). And then confirm here, to keep track.

Being the one running the numbers for the tMRCA I can tell you one thing: This would be absolutely impossible to handle Hence.... NO! (Capt. Wolf's suggestion could fly, though, although how you will build that into your storyline would be interesting to see! But for the non-tMRCA category, you can play in any sort of combination you'd like Well.... The rules state the following: "or their allies" could be interpreted fairly liberally, allowing for some interesting stories. The LoMs is the only way to have a neutral ship legally partake in hostilities, hence why they are available. (COR is already at war with Lotus, so we have a legitimate reason for hostilities)

You can build all the ships you want, just like you would always do and license them as per the rules. That aside, you can join in this category with two (2) entries. One moc only, meaning you make some sort of moc(s) of (a) sea battle(s) after your own designs pertinent to the challenge; and one tMRCA result build, where you submit orders for a ship targeting either Lotus or Carno (depending on your flag, choice, etc.) including pm to the game masters and then moc the results. Only the second one requires you to have licensed the ship beforehand. Clear? Nope. Since by running a LoM you will be flying the flag of the issuing nation, and cannot run both flags, that cannot be done. But... if you can make the story pertinent to the conflict, you could potentially run under a third flag (national or black) and target one/both/all ships in the New Haven Seas. (A black flagger will not need an LoM to target anyone, considering it will be considered a pirate by all nations regardless.) Usual may be a bit much, considering we haven't seen many examples. The about ships rules states the following: So your class 10 would have to be longer/wider/otherwise larger than 7 midsections plus bow/stern pieces, and most likely consist of several decks (depending on whether you go down a traditional age of sail SOTL concept, or perhaps an alternative such as a chinese treasure ship that may instead be wider) I hope that helps - otherwise, please ask
