Kings Port Advertiser and Ship List (Vol. 5, Issue 3)
Bregir replied to Capt Wolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Is two turns of anti-piracy enough to declare yourself heroes? Corrington should get the Nobel peace prize, then! The Lotus will regret having angered the Royal Navy! While the loss of the Resilience was a terrible hit, it was only a temporary set back! Corrington truly rules the waves! -

***Public service announcement*** Due to delays in running the latest tMRCA, category D will be postponed until Wednesday, July 15th. This is done to allow you all more chances of building for tMRCA results for the challenge. If you have already submitted an entry, remember you are always welcome to improve and adjust your entry until the deadline. Regards The Brethren Court

That is a very good question. Normally, I would expect skylights for the captains cabin there. That thing looks like some storage or similar. I am tempted to suggest that it is the result of someone creating the model not really understanding something he sees on a painting and then trying to "interpret" it and came up with this, but I may also entirely be missing what it might be. Doesn't your source specify what "D" is? -

Montoya resents any suggestion that he should have been less than cordial in his correspondence with Hollande - he is simply confirming what Hollande himself has said about his own skills and the nature of the RNTC mission. ;) The accusations implicitly placed in Hollande's letters, though, have not gone unnoticed. :P -

Spiderwebs have started to come dangerously close to my lego now (my lego room is in the basement...), so it would appear I need to start building more! Also, I am seeing so many wonderful builds but hardly have the time to comment - keep up the outstanding work, guys! -

@Captain Genaro Monsieur Hollande, Should I ever be in a position where I should find your particular branch of skills, insights, and experience in any way helpful, you shall be the first to know. Until then, I shall not disturb you and your doubtlessly purely commercial ventures any further. In Her Majesty's Service Don Isaac Montoya Consul, Corrington -
Congratulations to all the winners! Some very interesting builds and fascinating stories came out of this category! Corrington appears to need to step up its game! We naturally belong first on the list! Make CORRINGTON GREAT AGAIN!

The Empire of Eslandola: Sign-Up and Discussion, Era II
Bregir replied to Capt Wolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
@Elostirion A hastily but neatly scribbled note was sent in reply. Fontonajo? Is it my old friend Román Fontonajo, or perhaps the younger Fontonajo? In either case, I am most relieved to have a trusted friend with which to pull through these so dangerous times for Terraversa and ourselves. I shall await most patiently the reply from the Colonial Assembly and hope we can renew our acquaintances shortly. Isaac Montoya, aboard HMS Greyhound- 243 replies

@Faladrin Westface, Terraversa June 10th, 620 AE HMS Greyhound To Felipe de la Manzana My dear sir, It is with the greatest pleasure that I am in a position to make arrangements for the return of your rightful property. Under normal circumstances, we would immediately offer a prize fee similar to that of licensing cost. However, currently, the Royal Navy is engaged throughout Terra Nova. As you are certainly aware, Corrington is at war with the Empire of the Lotus in the Far East, where many ships are engaged in securing Halosian interests and where the Royal Navy has suffered some grievous losses. At the same time, our tireless and persistent battle against piracy of any kind invests many naval vessels in patrols and escorts from Arlinsport to Spudkirk. Hence, as you may deduce, hulls, particularly warships, come at a premium, and Rear-Admiral Fletcher has given instructions that this is to be taken into consideration in all matters pertaining to prizes. Nonetheless, it is not in Her Majesty's habit to appropriate the property of others, least of all those of our Eslandian friends, however, I beg you understand our position: Month after month, the Royal Navy has patrolled the seas, and apart from a few significant sorties of late from your fleet, we have been largely alone in keeping the sea lanes safe. Risk, losses, and costs have been ours alone, while rewards from our successes have been shared widely by all who benefit from decreased risks of navigating these waters. Until now, we have kept our grievances to ourselves, but even the proudest and strongest must sometimes face impossible odds and ask that others take their part of the responsibility. Thus, it shall be my pleasure to arrange return of your vessels at the normal prize fee, if in return your Colonial Assembly can offer suitable, lasting commitments to stand by your Corlander brethren against piracy with a force equivalent to or exceeding the three vessels in question. It is our hope that you will bring this situation to the Colonial Assembly and champion our cause, to return with us a suitable arrangement for the common benefit of all in favour of the safe navigation of Terra Nova. At your service Don Isaac Montoya Consul, Corrington -
[COR - FB] On the Road Again...

Welcome back, LB, and with a very nice oasis build. I really like the oasis with the scattered vegetation around the ponds, and I am very happy to see this story continue. The expedition has certainly been long underway! If possible or needed, I will be happy to help it continue - although I am quite hung up on many other adventures! As to the MRCA, we have changed the format significantly - you can now continue your story as you please, and when or if you need/want GM input, you can request it. (It could for instance be to get the outcome of talks with Mokolei Emperor or similar, where you cannot yourself determine the result of the talks) So you don't need to worry about the formerly quite rigid format of the aMRCA (and you are also free to leave the previous ends loose if you prefer). -

You are off to a great start, Spud! When looking at her hull, I am thinking brig, but those raked masts (or is that an optical illusion?) says schooner. I think you can go both ways. In any case, I think you'd want to move the foremast forward, though. 4-6 studs, I think. The aft mast should probably follow about the same number of studs, but it's a little hard to make out, as we don't see a straight side shot. (And there was a big variance in ships of the day anyways) Looking forward to following her progress! -

Quite certain... But I see how it could get confusing. You can spot the difference in that a proper Corlander Naval Officer doesn't stop every two minutes for praying to some absurd deity! -
[OL - A-MCRA] Travels to Terraversa

A Corlander delegation has landed in Nola Mar and made a declaration: All shipping will be stopped and inspected until Captain Cooke is restored to his ship! _________________________________ Also, great fort, @Bodi! It is really looking sharp and there are so many details! I also notice Cooke's confinement has no bars on the windows... You are entirely right about his temper, though! -
Outside Nola Mar, the Corlander frigate HMS Greyhound rounded the cape and hove to, the seaward guns going off in a salute. After raising a white flag of parley, the frigate's launch was pulled closer, that too bearing a white flag. Just within the range of the shore batteries, the boat waited for a moment, and upon concluding that no fire was being opened, long, rhythmic pulls on the oars brought it to the docks. "Boat your oars... Hook on" a midshipman commanded and the boat glided gently in along the quay. Swiftly, a marine sergeant and 4 privates climbed the qauy and took position as honour guard with rhythmic stomp of boots and muskets, and a naval lieutenant stood in front of them, clearing his throat. "To the authorities of Nola Mar" he bellowed in a controlled but powerful voice accustomed to competing with a gale at sea. "Recently, Captain Sir Jonathan Cooke of Her Majesty's Frigate Greyhound took boat to Nola Mar to inquire of the authorities the state of the settlement in preparation of a survey of the harbour facilities of Terraversan settlements, conducted in support of grand Admiral L'Olius in Westface." He paused for a moment to see if any 'authorities' should present themselves up front. "However, since then, we have had no word of the Captain, or his whereabouts, and have been forced to consider the risk of a misunderstanding, or even foul play." Looking around at the now attentive crowd, he continued: "Captain Cooke is a hero of many battles, including the recent almost complete decimation of the vile pirate LeColeon, who has until his defeat been terrorising Terraversan trade. Further, he is a Knight of the Most Noble Order of Victory, and, most importantly, an officer in Her Majesty's service, and as such, his well-being is of the utmost importance to Corrington." "Thus, should anyone in Nola Mar or elsewhere be able to offer reliable information, or be able to bring about the restoration of the Captain, a bounty of 100 dbs will be offered." The officer looked around the crowd for signs of interest. "It is our hope that the authorities of Nola Mar can swiftly assist in returning Captain Cooke, whose disappearance is most troubling." "HOWEVER, upon his own orders, until such a time that he is restored to his ship, or orders are given to the contrary by Captain Cooke or a ranking officer, the HMS Greyhound and its consorts will inspect all shipping going in and out of Nola Mar for any signs of Captain Cooke." A stunned silence spread in the crowd, and more than a few concerned frowns showed in the shadows. "Her Majesty's representatives ensures all citizens and authorities that no harm will be done to vessels or crew accepting inspection, and we shall make every effort possible to keep the delay at a minimum. The necessity of such action is regrettable, but Grand Admiral L'Olius has agreed the Royal Navy taking the necessary steps to recover its officer." For few minutes, the Corlander delegation just stood there, waiting to be approached by any interested parties. _________________________________________________________________________________ OOC: We cannot actually inspect vessels going to and from Nola Mar in the tMRCA, but will sail a fleet out as *if* it was indeed 'blockading' Nola Mar. IC, I hope we can agree to play along, though.

@Captain Genaro Monsieur Hollande, I regret to inform you that I am not at liberty to leave Terraversa at the current state of affairs, nor in possession of a suitable representative to despatch for Lavalette, which, as you are no doubt aware, is many days of sail from where. You shall be the first to know, should my situation change. For now, any discussions will have to be conducted on Terraversan soil. I hope you will understand this imperative. In terms of Viking like people, you may want to look into the far western "Kingdom of the Great Raider". The inspiration to that has been hinted to be something in between the viking and the mongol raiders, although never completely defined. It is very big, so some creative leeway is definitely permissible.
