Another great chapter, Osric. There are a lot of nice details to take in, especially the dead peasants and the roof of the house. The storytelling is great too. I do not think you are overstepping any boundaries with your magical artefact, as long as you do not use it to give yourself or others storychanging powers. Great chapter all in all!

Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Bregir replied to Rogue Angel's topic in Guilds of Historica
Welcome to our glorious guild, Deez I'dek. One wonders what the Master of Flame will bring to our guild. As someone else said, the 7 tasks (see first post) is a good place to start. Task 4 is about expanding your settlement: www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=92705 Welcome, Lilliana, to our glorious guild. Innovative banner and nice story - looking forward for more. -
Great idea for the trap - and again you have hidden that spy (and the trap) brilliantly! Let us just hope that this will not delay reinforcements from the Trifork too much!

Greetings, Lord Glaennckor the Wise, 'Tis good to have you amongst us - and we shall be looking forward to hearing more of your exploits! Best regards Beorthan, Lord Mayor of the Trifork. (Would be great to get a description/backstory of your character and lands - will be looking forward for it!) -
Neat landscaping and nice ruin - will be looking forward to seeing a full size round tower from you! I hope Alric will not be getting himself in trouble as he arrives... When (if... It took me forever to find that spy! ) the messenger arrives, I am sure Beorthan will rally all the troops he can and ride to your aid as fast as possible!

Monster Contract: The Wolf of Drond's Feelds
Bregir replied to Mike S's topic in Guilds of Historica
Great to see another build from you, Mike! That wolf is fantastic and the combination of brickbuilt and prefab pieces is flawless! Your groundwork is great too, and the posing of the minifigs and the wolf makes it look real dynamic. The story is great too, and I sure hope to see what they will find at the end of that map! -
Another beautiful addition to Benoic! While I wouldn't go as far as saying this is your best build ever (tough competition! :) ) there are many nice details here. As many others have mentioned, the use of crates is a great way to add texture, but the smoke, the minifigposing and expressions and the design of the stable are great too! The house itself is really proof that you are master of what I would call "classic" moc'ing. Without excessive greebling or super advanced techniques, you produce stunnning builds with a great atmosphere. My only critisism is that the first picture appears to be tilted somewhat sideways. Great to have the Lord Regent back on our own lands!

Both builds are very nice - but I will echo the request for an overview shot of the second. Will be looking forward to following the story further!

Nice little vignette - I think your take on an entrance to the Kelra Labyrinths is nice, especially the wall - and I like how your paths are no longer so regular. The story is great too, albeit a little grim. Keep up the good work - will be looking forward to seeing the rest.

Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Bregir replied to Rogue Angel's topic in Guilds of Historica
I might sneak some sig figs in in future builds, then. (Most likely, I will ask first, though - to make it fit in storylines etc.) Cheers, Dzidek, Most Avalonians claim their own little piece of land as their county/fiefdom/duchy and start developing it. So basically, you can choose any piece of land not already claimed by someone else. (The areas marked on the map are the counties claimed by other builders already.) Alternatively, you can ask the existing builders, if you can build in their counties. It is really up to you! Feel free to ask any furter questions - hope this helped Best regards Beorthan, Lord Mayor of the Trifork -

Apart from the legs, its seems I already have all parts for Aeldric - He might be shown in a build or two at some point. -
I will echo what others have said before me - this is a very nice build! The colour variation to show the repaired irrigation channel works perfectly, and the whole concept of irrigation is executed to perfection. On a sidenote: Where is that torso for Gideon from?

Great looking cottage, Jorrith - and the landscaping is very good too! My favourite part is (apart from the story ) the path left after that angry pumpkin! The whole thing gives a twisted farmer maggot vibe

Historica Husbandry: Old Bruin and His Tale
Bregir replied to Garmadon's topic in Guilds of Historica
Wow - great build, Garmadon! The bear is cute, yet still imposing, and the foilage is great too. What I like the most is probably those great snowdrifts and the posing of the hunters/bear.- 21 replies

This has a wonderful, gloomy beauty to it - the epitome of fantasy landscaping! The atmosphere, with the rafts slowly moving through the swamps has been captured perfectly - I can almost hear the sounds in my head... If I may dare to offer one suggestion (not that this really needs improvement), it seems a little odd that the ruins aren't more overgrown, considering how lush the terrain around them seem. Great work! Always exciting to see more of the Darklands!

This is brilliant, Kai - I really think you have outdone yourself this time! The building, the groundwork, the vines - and all the life around the build is all just brilliant! The roof turned out great, and I really like the texturing of the walls. I have no ideas for improvements whatsoever! Great work!

Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Bregir replied to Rogue Angel's topic in Guilds of Historica
Welcome to our newest members - can't wait to see your contributions to our glorious guild! On a sidenote, do any of you people keep track of the parts for your sig figs? I was thinking about bricklinking some parts for other people's sig figs, but it isn't easy finding the right parts. -

Bregir replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
Congratz to Gunman! And what an amazing bunch of Mitgardia builds we have seen lately! It is really cool how you guys are keeping the Algus saga going parallel to the official challenges. Anyone willing to grant Aeldric right of passage? -
About the AFOL/FFOL discussion: I am not sure I think we should be concerned about attracting a specific gender of "FOL's" - but most of the points raised here are relevant for any "FOL" out there. And a lot of people do seem to think GoH requires a very high initial skill level, and that the whole world is very hard to fathom. Maybe a short introduction post could be made and stickied, only including the absolute necessities for joining. Something like: A basic overview of the setting and general guidelines, a quick intro of the 4(/5) Guilds (just a few lines about each), and the requirements for joining each of them. Maybe a community effort could make this come to life - one from each guild could volunteer to fill in an agreed template for the guild, and someone else for Historica as a whole? Thoughts on this? Do we already have this? Hi Dzidek, You are not required to have any specific form of minifigures to join. Your sig fig can look however you want, and so can your soldiers. As long as you stay within the current setting, or atmosphere, of the guild. If possible, you can display the guild colours (sand green and dark green) in your builds, for instance as a standard/flag, or similar. Hope to see you joining our Glorious Guild!

Book II - Kaliphlin: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Bregir replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
As per the Kaliphlinite civil war, I have been operating with the scenario that the High council has signed truces with both the desert King and Ulandus, and that they are now discussing how to decide power under a new order. (Aka as we are waiting for the results :) ) Thus Beorthan has pulled all Trifork troops home for the time being. While still a firm supporter of the High council, he awaits further developments and possible requests for further support. That way there can still be pockets of resistance, while the main parties have laid down their arms. I will be looking very much forward to seeing where this will take us and Kaliphlin. And whether a still somewhat unbroken High Council and a proud but battered Ulandus will simply accept the desert King as their new overlord! ;) -
Thanks all - glad you like my humble contribution to the minichallenge - again a big thanks to the organisers. This build was fun, and I think the outcome was pretty good. The hut is meant to represent something built from local materials and I am glad you like it! Thanks, SK! I am happy you like the groundlayering and noticed the roof on the hut!

Thanks all, glad you like it! While I would like to have entered something more substantial for this cool challenge, another build and life has taken up too much of my focus. Thanks, Lord Vlad - I agree - it did take on a somewhat modern style, and I am quite sure glass prices in Historica makes this a pretty expensive venture! If I had had the time, I would probably have build a more classical style orangerie, but that will be left for another time! Thanks Milo. I see what you mean. Although vertical boards definitely very technologically possible the look of it is a bit modernistic - But hey, the Trifork is often a frontrunner in style!

Cool little build - one wonders what civilisation once build that chair! As others have said, the foilage is great. Further, I like the path, and that ruined chair is nice too!

I really like your interior builds, TitusV! The wall texturing here is brilliant, and the interior details are nice. Further, you manage to tell quite a lot of story from a relatively simple build, without making it feeling crammed. Overall great work! I do, however, agree somewhat with Alfadas - the arch looks a little busy. My suggestion would be to try 1x1 tiles instead. As to the story, I am certain Beorthan will not look kindly to anyone attacking his allies. Especially not since they appear to be coming from the east, which seems to indicate they travelled through territory under his control! The main hostage being his own niece probably helps too! Will be looking forward to following the story further!
