Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3a Chapter 3b Chapter 4 Chapter 5 Chapter 6 Chapter 7 Having made preparations for leaving, Beorthan is now at the head of the Trifork Lancers, being guided westwards by the somewhat battered messenger to join forces with Aelric. The Trifork Lancers form an elite company of heavy cavalry, making up the main shock force of the Trifork Arsenal. Formed shortly after Beorthan's election as Lord Mayor of the Trifork, they are armed with the finest Shadowmere steel and riding powerful steeds from Drond's fields. Participating in the Kaliphlinite civil war quickly turned this newly formed company into an experienced, battle-hardened force to be reckoned with. Trained to fight both mounted as heavy lancers and dismounted as heavy spearmen, they are effective in both offence and defence. At the same time, Drake is leading a company of Trifork infantry through the southern swamplands to the plains near the southern border of the Trifork and thus Avalonia. Marching across these few miles of open land, an enemy will be able to seek refuge in the hills and mountains making up most of the border between Avalonia and Kaliphlin, through which they can sneak deeper into Avalonia. Raiders often choose this arduous route, rather than to face the obstacle of the fortress city of the Trifork. Drake's objective is to stop enemy reinforcements from making their way to the fight. As the cavalry, the infantry of the Trifork has been hardened by the Kaliphlinite civil war. By reforming the old city watch, Beorthan has created a disciplined, well lead, and well equipped force able to adapt to most situations. Trained by the veterans Marcus and Cassius, they are well-versed in most infantry tactics. ____________________________________________________________ Next instalment in the Aestwäld saga. Further, it is also my entry to the Avalonian Task One, presenting my troops. C&C is, as always, more than welcome. Still looking forward to seeing where this story goes.

Interesting story, Lord Braewyn! It will be interesting to see it unfold When you post your sig fig, you might also want to show us where on the map Avion is located. Happy to have you here - have fun and brick on! -

Another time, it would probably be a good idea to divide the task on a full team - we don't want to end up burning your light in both ends! Victory parade was category D if I am not mistaken - and therefore won by de Gothia. Mmmmm, tags...- 272 replies

I would suggest putting up some sort of sig fig with the story, and then update it later, when you have the right parts. We will be happy to have in our ranks! :) -
Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion

I am honoured to serve our glorious guild, my liege. And to be recognized in name is a great accomplishment - thank you, Rogue! Always happy to assist. About task 6 and 7: I have a lot of ideas - just have a lot of other things going on that takes precedence right not. When I post my plaza build, I expect to include the first instalment to the Trifork Textile Guild (task 6). I have a few freebuilds which have not been linked here - I will do so when I next post a new build. On a side note, if you get the time, task 4 have a few questions posed that requires your attention. It may also need a general update. (If you need help keeping that up to date, I will be happy to help.) As others have said, you are pretty much free to do as you please. I would suggest either PM'ing those you wish to trade with, or simply make a build with an emissary and an offer of trade - in the latter case, other builders can reply with a build, and the agreement may even be reached without "metagaming" (without previous OOC agreement, I mean.). Good luck in establishing trade - you are of course welcome to reach out to the Trifork - Beorthan is always interested in opening new avenues of trade! -
Book II, Chal IV - Kaliphlin Civil War (Results Posted)

What a great wrap up to the challenge. Congrats to the winners, and as others have said, I like how the situation came out. It seems very realistic that no clear winner emerges from a civil war, and further, it opens up for a lot of storylines! Thanks for all the great work, Ska! It has been very fun, but a bit exhausting too It would definitely be fun to use the experience and learning here to run another cat. C type wargame at another time.- 272 replies

Contest! The Frozen Beyond, Results are in!
Bregir replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
Another brilliant contest - I haven't built anything with snow yet, so now may be the time to start! -
Woah, Frumpy - this is brilliant. It seems to me this could be a perfect entry to the Avalonian task 5
-
Well, if this is warming up, your bricks are going to melt when you really get going! Cool build - that black tree is awesome, and I wonder what concoctions they are brewing to give that yellow smoke!
-
I can't believe I missed this, Graham! The tower is looking great (and I love how it is slightly slanted), but what really steals the show for me are those rapids where the stream narrows! Great work - can't wait to see more of Reyelan!
-
Cool build and great story - it is good to see the Algus getting a few casualties in their ranks. It would seem that more coal burning stoves should be build in preparation for their advance! My only (small) critisism is, that something seems off about the pictures - I am not sure which setting is off, but the colours are looking a bit "funny". Lastly, if this is phase 1, you are really raising the expectations for the following phases!

Freebuild: Avalonian Task 4 - Blacksmith
Bregir replied to dzidek1983's topic in Guilds of Historica
Nice build, Dzidek! It is good to see your settlement grow - I am really liking your architectural style - it looks very sturdy, almost dwarven in style. And adding the description really adds a lot to the build - makes it come alive in the story and in Historica. -
Really nice build - the atmosphere of the build is great! Both the landscape, hut and tree are nice, and I like the smoke effect too
-
Great base, wall and trees, BC! The only thing that look odd to me, is that the path is raised above the snow - would make more sense the other way around, I think I would love to see you do something from all the guilds!
-
Great vignette - I like the landscaping, and the fence is brilliant. I really like the minifig too!
-
Aaaaand the tension rises! Cool gravestones, although I think they may be a bit on the studdy side.

Great (series of) build(s), LD. It is good to see you again building in our glorious homelands As others have said, that skeleton is amazing, as is your other landscaping, above and below ground!
-
As always an impressive build, Adair - you are really mastering this low key, dramatic colourscheme, which makes your builds immediately recogniseable! For this brilliant build, I have only one comment: I am not sure about the door with the printed tiles. With everything having brickbuilt texture, it looks somewhat out of place. The story is very glum and dramatic, although I am not sure I am liking what war and power is doing to Adira - she seems harsher and more cynical for each instalment! I only hope she will not herself turn into the very mirror of the enemy she is fighting against.... Great writing!

Ageven's Graduation (from Petraea University)
Bregir replied to Kai NRG's topic in Guilds of Historica
Cool little build, Kai - I like the floor, and how you turned the doctorate of Historica from a meta-event to an IC event! Ageven must be a very important an well-liked person, with all those VIP's showing up at his graduation! The speech is brave, and I hope Ageven will not suffer any repercussions from the sandy despot. However, only if you Kaliphlinites dare speak up against the socalled Desert King hope of change will remain. -
The Trifork is currently looking to forge and strengthen alliances throughout the guilds, so know that he will be welcomed. (Most likely by the first lady, as Beorthan himself is riding out at this very moment to meet an unknown enemy)

You are really establishing a great, distinctive style for Skavenport - and as always, your mocs are of an exquisite quality and some very interesting parts use. On top of that, you have depicted a lot of aspects of a trade - which really makes me wonder if you wouldn't be interested in entered the Skavenport fur trade in the "Trades of Historica" task? It seems like this would be perfect for it!
