  1. I downloaded the file, had fun taking it all apart and putting the pieces all over the table top, :)
  2. I dont think its worth a grand, yeah there's a lot of parts, but you could buy quite a few sets for a grand.
  3. Yeah, I,d need the big one for this monster, lol. Counter weight alone weights about 2 lbs, I got a bunch of stuff ordered from LEGO. soon as it and my BL order get here. I,ll have a better counter weight made. Hope to have it done in the next few weeks, and then I can do a official photo shoot.
  4. I,m interested in hearing how the turntable performs as well, I,m currently building a Terex Demag crawler. so far it,s gonna be about 5 feet tall, the LEGO turntable is working, but with it being full R/C it turns a bit hard. Considering how much I go into this build so far, another 50 bucks will be a drop in the bucket.
  5. Tires need to be bigger is all, but its a really nice grader. I get my crawler crane done, I think I,ll start on my Cat 657 scraper.
  6. They work great for a 16 to 1 gear reduction box, I used 4 of the 1/4 elipse pieces and a 16 tooth gear. The new ones dont hit the elipse on either side liek the old ones do. plus there 3l in length which what you need unlike the 2L that the old version is. Just a much nicer gear for the job.
  7. Strange thing is if you run both the element pt no. and the LEGO no. it comes up as a bad number, also like i said. If you look at all the pieces for the Construction crew set they replaced the new style gear with the old one, When I ordered the 12 I got they had the newer one on the list. I know some one did a review of the set a while back and pointed out the new worm gear, and how it was a big improvement over the old version.
  8. Not sure what happened, but it seems LEGO has gone back to the old style worm gears and the new version is no longer on their site for sale. The Construction crew had this new gear in it, and now it shows the older one instead also. Wonder what happened with it, I was lucky enough to buy 12 of them off their site before they pulled them. Anyone else run into this /
  9. really like how you did the front suspension , very compact. .
  10. I really want too get my Cat 957 scraper built, and a 42009 Xl version. Also like to build a crawler latice crane on the same scale as the 42009, and a Cat D - 11 dozer. I,m sure there are some more, but that's what comes to mind right now Dan
  11. I say keep the 8043, you,ll be able to get a 42009 for a while. I think its a great set, but like all of them you need to do some mods to it. I,m toying with the idea to get another for all the parts, though I have enough to build two now.
  12. Yeah C-130 gun ship :) I see a 109 Howitzer and maybe a couple vulcan guns for good measure, LOL.
  13. 42009, 8265, 42006, 42004 x2, 42000, 8258, and a bunch of brick like orders. Sad part is, I cant seem to find the intrest to build anything. Having a major building block, LOL.
  14. I,ve been planing for sometime to build a 957 Cat push pull scraper, also a D-11 dozer. With winter here, maybe I can get something built, and spend less time shooting pictures, LOl.
  15. Got a 8421 off E bay for around 220, kicker was in the pics I could see other parts. A set of Power puller tires, and a lot of other stuff that was'nt part of it. I got it and found there were about 3 other sets in the lot. I later sold the Power puller tires for 25 bucks, big mistake, LOL.
  16. The first expert builder set I got was the 851, had the box up until 09, still had the original price tag on it, LOL 19.99, got the 856 later and the 851 I believe the number is. The yellow n red crane, that was a fun set for being simple as it was. Dan
  17. All about your personal taste, I grew up with studfull. 851, 855. Got back into it in 09 and was amazed at how things changed, and for the better I think. Dan
  18. Yeah, the 8053 is kinda on the line far as parts count, I really like the 8284 too, that would be one of my favorites too, dont care for the buggy, but the tractor I think is dead on. Dan
  19. I want to get a go pro, mount it on my German Shepards head, LOL. Dan
  20. That is a awesome crawler, Like David said. I like the 98341 pieces used for the wheels, the whole body is well done. Dan
  21. 8053 for sure, 8265, 42006 , I think those are my favorites so far, I,m sure if I think about it for a bit, I can come up with some more, LOL. Dan
  22. LOL, funny. There not that close, I,m on the north side of Ohio. Dan
  23. I,ve bought stuff from toy berg, kinda nice there just a state away, LOL. Dan
  24. I could do it on LDD, but I have never been able to post pictures on this site. Dan
