MOC: Scouting the Ruins (Raising the Dead: Family Heirloom)
Gideon replied to Dragonfire's topic in Guilds of Historica
Very good use of that limited base! A word of advice regarding the photography, don't be afraid to back away the camera a bit and zoom (or crop the pictures afterwards). But most importantly, try to get the whole MOC in the picture (if you are not doing close-up shots of details).- 10 replies

Nocturnus Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion
Gideon replied to I Scream Clone's topic in Guilds of Historica
Not your fault that you are the most active Nocturnian poster at the moment -
Nocturnian farming! I guess that the swamps are to Nocturnus what the fertile river valleys are to Kaliphlin? Oh, and nice tree and tower as well!

Thanks! I'm just a bit displeased about the photo, I've been meaning to reshoot that MOC since I didn't get any shot with a perfect angle (and I knew for a while this was coming). But now it's too late I suppose -
Guilds of Historica Introduction/General Discussion Thread
Gideon replied to I Scream Clone's topic in Guilds of Historica
Indeed it is, it was supposed to be the flagship of the Swedish navy and was packed with sculptures (and cannons, the most of its day). The king had interfered with the design requesting it to become even bigger but that also made the center of gravity too high. It sank during its maiden voyage without even clearing the Stockholm archipelago We are of course happy about this, since it then got well preserved in the brackish water and could be raised 300+ years later -

To make kabel more jealous, you should definitely visit the Vasa museum in Stockholm, we have an increadibly well preserved 17th century warship there -
Very nice, definitely truly Nocturnian! Lots of details despite the size, but when will we see the minifig scale version?

Guilds of Historica Introduction/General Discussion Thread

Scandinavia's only PaB wall in Copenhagen? Otherwise I think I'll have to know where you are going before I try to give tips. Mitgardia I mean Scandinavia is a quite big place -

Welcome back NM! You are in for a treat if you are going to read up on three months of GoH! -
I like that you are expanding your scale step by step, keep it up! In this build I like the dark grey wall with the vines best, but it would have looked even better in my opinion if you had built it with some overlap to break up the columns of bricks. The module with the road and ground is also good, especially the foilage on the sides of the road.
-
I figured as much, what I didn't understand was how he got the technic brick there. But now I realize that he must have used red 92946 below the technic brick, correct?
-
Nice building! I especially like how you've done the edges of the roof, I can't quite make out how it is is built...? The ground and crane are also wonderful. The only thing which looks a bit out of place to me is the thick strings used for ropes in the rigging of the ship, those would probably have blended in better if they were a tad thinner (and maybe black to blend in better in the all-black upper part of the ship). Keep the modules coming!!

Raising the Dead – Collecting the Pieces Chapter 1 Part 3
Gideon replied to Mike S's topic in Guilds of Historica
Wonderful interior, I especially like the furniture! What piece is used for the top of the cabinet to the left? It matches the crate pieces so well I would like to see more of the heroes, do you have any more pictures from different angles? CBB: I also think it is nice to see "real" lego books, its just a shame that they get those ugly white "stretchmarks" when closed... -
For the Raising the Dead – Collecting the Pieces Chapter 1 Part 2
Gideon replied to Mike S's topic in Guilds of Historica
Wonderful forest! You have really nailed the living but gloomy/cursed atmosphere that I really think we could see more of in Nocturnus. I mean, it can't be all lava and rotting swamps, can it? Even the Nocturnians (well, maybe not the undead) would need to grow some food I suppose? . Good to have an example of the type of scene we can build, I think this scale is just about what my time will permit this time. I just need to find out which ingredient Gideon will be looking for -
The Historica City Guide (Chapter II Edition)

Maybe Mitgardia is more centered around clan/family/group in other way which has its own heraldry? -
The Historica City Guide (Chapter II Edition)

I think Avalonian counties should count just as well as cities, as such a feodal society probably isn't all centered on the cities? Benoic is an excellent example of a county which definitely should be included in a guide of Historica. DG: I really like your shield, even though I think the text would be a bit hard to read at minifig scale. The motto sounds quite pacifistic btw Regarding Barqa, I will try to come up with a suitable heraldry when time permits. -
Nice micro-build! Are we going to see parts of this made at minifig scale...?
-
This is really impressive, the scale of this project really needs some serious dedication! Well done! On another note, I would certainly not mind seeing some of those interior details put to GoH use as well
-
Very nice build! My personal favorite is probably the garden, but all the areas are wonderful
-
Nice trees! I would love to see them in real ABS plastic

Raising the Dead – Family Heirloom (Community Story Build)
Gideon replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
Good idea, I'm going to see if one of my side characters can help with this as Gideon has already agreed to help Masa. It's however not implausible that Gideon will arrive in Eastgate later if he succeeds in finding the ingredient for Masa.- 38 replies

As I said on Swebrick, I really like the scale of this build. Especially that the entrance door is "Gandalf minifig-scale"

Nice interior with a lot of interesting details! Impressive project as well, are the other floors furnished as well? Do you have older threads with these...?
