  1. Fantastic deal! I'm a bit jealous to be honest, I had kinda wanted to buy that set as a gift for my brother. The Hogwarts Express had always captivated him a little bit. Now the line's discontinued. Oh well, I guess I'll Bricklink it for him (possibly for Christmas).
  2. Thanks! And thank you (I'm assuming it was you) for giving me this beautiful new tag! I love it.
  3. So...I installed GIMP the other day. (One of the best decisions I've made in a while, BTW. It can really help you with the presentation of MOCs.) I've been fooling around with it lately, and so in the spirit of Summer of Friends, I made these! I didn't have a specific reason for making them, but they were fun. I know you can still see white spots out of place here and there, but like I said, it was all enjoyable. I don't see how I could disclude this guy as IJ...he looks a lot like our adventurer buddy! And a few SW ones. This was the only one I filled with colour: Hope you liked these simple little photo-edits! Enjoy the Summer of Friends!
  4. Thank you. I knew that, I just had a brain fart and forgot if Palpatine was Chancellor during TCW or not. And yeah, I meant Plagueis. I just referred to him as Damask because we were talking about the IGBC.
  5. Thanks. I read Darth Plagueis less than two weeks ago, but I forgot when exactly in the timeline his death was.
  6. I really hope you're right in guessing female Elf. I'd buy lots of 'em, replace the yellow with flesh, and expand my LOTR collection! I'd also like a flute from a Snake Charmer.
  7. Thanks for the link! Interesting read. Awesome! I forget...Hego Damask is long dead by the Clone Wars, correct?
  8. It seems like I visit this thread a lot, always changing my mind. Shelob Attacks is my latest favourite. I can't say enough times how perfect the LOTR figs are! My favourites out of all the figs ever made. Although this year's SW and Superheroes pretty much tie that...
  9. Hi! Two years is a long time to wait! I browsed 4 months before signing up. I can't imagine 24 months! Well, welcome, and enjoy the site.
  10. GoT is a show/book series I've been wanting to get into for a while now, but lacked the time. So I'm unfamiliar with these characters. But I love the designs. They're clean and excellently done! Great job!
  11. D'awwwwww! These are cute. Well done, too! I can see why you're getting commissions. Nice job.
  12. Just thought you oughta now...this is one of the best things I've read on the Internet today.
  13. Nice room! It gives off a warm and alive vibe. I like how colourful it is. Good job!
  14. Thank you! When you don't have a lot of pieces, you've gotta make every one count. Thanks! I'm sure it'll be big soon. It's already expanded at least 1000 pieces since I got back into Lego.
  15. I've never been on the ride- but great vigs! They've all got a creepy, chilling, feel to them. I can't pick a favourite! Looking forward to the next vig you make.
  16. I've never played Portal, and I know nothing about it, but if it gets approved I think we could get an interesting set! I doubt we'll get more than one, though. I'll be watching this along with the other CUUSOO projects being reviewed.
  17. You're probably right, but it almost looks like Thorin's sword is longer. I guess it's just a matter of perspective/proportions. Since the fig is small (short legs) it makes the small sword look big. I guess we'll have to wait and see!
  18. But then you get an extra of one of those 2 figures...I thought having extras was one of your reasons for disliking Frodo's Kitchen! I'm sorry, it just seems like some of your arguments disagree with each other. I too would love exclusive figures in polybags, but I don't see it happening. Perhaps I'm just missing part of what you're saying, but I don't understand how you think TLG missed an oppurtunity with these. EDIT: Exclusive figures wouldn't be a good idea in polybags for many reasons already discussed. But one idea that I do like that seems feasible, is other army-builder figs like Rohan Soldiers or Moria Orcs.
  19. Shelob Attacks. Bought it a while ago, but only finished building today. I only had time to build the minifigs before...but I'm glad I got around to building the set! It's fantastic. With the hobbits, Gollum, and Shelob, it's my favourite set of the year.
  20. And here I was thinking the famous line was "It's a trap!"...
  21. Isn't that bad luck! You deeplink the pics, and they get changed back to links because they're too big. Don't worry, we all have picture size issues at first. Anyway, I love the custom. I'd like to see a group of them riding out together. Nice job!
  22. Awesome artwork Catanas! I'm a bit envious of those two getting their figs drawn by you. Amazing job. (By the way, I loved all of your guys' entries to the contest!)
  23. You don't want an "A"? But "A" means she's cheering on the A Team!
  24. I think Frodo's kitchen makes a great polybag, minifigs aside. I like that we're getting his kitchen. I agree that different figures would be fantastic, but that's highly unlikely. It seems like you're saying the only reason one would buy any of the sets is for the minifigs. Buying Bag End for Gandalf? I'm gonna be buying Bag End for Bag End. The minifigs are fantastic, the best TLG has ever made, but I can't justify buying a $60 set for one minifig. Lego was smart with what they did, because if you had not bought Gandalf Arrives, but bought only Bag End and the polybag instead, they would've lost approx. $10 in sales. Luckily for them I'm buying all three! Now, assuming many people do buy sets just for minifigs, as implied by your last quote, TLG made a wise decision by not putting a figure from an expensive set in the polybag. Because then what would your incentive be to buy the large set? You'd just get a polybag instead! So regardless of whether or not you buy sets solely for minifigs, TLG made the right decisions. (For their own profits, I mean. I know FOLs would prefer other polybags.) Sorry for debating with you here, but I suppose I just feel differently than you. I understand how much better different figures would be in polybags. I'd prefer them too. But from a business standpoint (as TLG would see it), they made the smarter choices. No hard feelings, I hope! EDIT: Dangit TheBrickDaddy! Ninja'd me by two minutes!
  25. Did all of the other toys give off fumes, or just certain ones? If it was only some of the toys, I wouldn't be too worried about the Lego. If it was all of them, I think there was either a problem with the bags or the bins. I think you misunderstand. While ziplock bags are usually used for food, these ones weren't. There was only ever toys in them. He just mentioned the food to explain what ziploc bags are. I think...
