Cool vignettes! I like the "backdrops" you built for them. Nice way to use Gollum in a non-LOTR MOC, too! Are you planning any more?
-
AWESOME work, darkdragon! It looks like an official piece. Fantastic custom.
-
Wow! You're right, it doesn't matter why you had a Dark Age, because now you're back and building amazing MOCs! The Theed architecture is just beautiful. AWESOME job, Brickviller!

Post about Cartoons and Anime you like
purpleparadox replied to Peppermint_M's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I guess Pep is right. They just want to target new audiences. I don't like the idea of that TV special, but I won't ruin it for people who do by complaining. I see where Spider-Man is coming from though. I don't want Marvel to lose it's mature ideas and turn into a franchise solely for young kids. Luckily I don't see that happening. Think about all of the movies announced at SDCC! This isn't the first time superheroes have been made kid-friendly, so there's no need to cause an uproar about it. -
IG-88 was always an interesting character to me. Good to see him done so well in Lego. You sure packed a ton of detail into that thing! Now let's see the rest of the bounty hunters in the same style. Nice job!

Show your LOTR pictures and armies
purpleparadox replied to TheDarkness's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Unless you really prefer Uruk-Hai minifigs, get Shelob Attacks. It's a fantastic set. You also get two of the main characters (Frodo and Sam) and an exclusive figure (Gollum) with Shelob Attacks. And Shelob herself is designed really well...more interesting than a wall, which is what you get with Uruk-Hai Army. Save UHA for after you get Shelob Attacks. Of course, that's just what I recommend. If you want to do differently, by all means go ahead. -
Book Review: Brickdiction by Bill Deen
purpleparadox replied to Big Cam's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Thanks for the review Big Cam! I might need to follow your advice and buy one to leave laying around the house. Maybe it can finally make my hobby (Lego, obviously) seem normal to other people. To be honest, I hope not! -
Thank you! I'm sure I'll enjoy the next thousand posts just as much as these ones. Thanks! Although I might not venture as far as to call it a MOC. "Tablescrap" fits quite nicely, I think. Thank you! Yup, purple's my favourite too. But I think you could tell.
-
Good for you! I think you absolutely made the right decision. I'm looking forward to your post when you do get her. Hopefully we'll see her featured in lots of amazing MOCs. (Hint, hint. ) And custom costumes sound interesting, too. I love a good custom minifig.

MOC "Frodo to the Rescue" vignette
purpleparadox replied to The_Chosen_1's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Thank you for posting this! It's always been the most emotional scene of Fellowship of the Ring for me. It brings a tear to my eye! I had been considering MOCing it myself, but your version is great. Everything from the water to the floor of the lake, it's awesome. Thank you again for building it. -
Hello everybody! It's happened! I've made 1000 posts on Eurobricks! So this is what I put together to celebrate. ' Yeah, I know, not-too-great photo-editing. Still, it looks alright, don't ya think? If you weren't already aware, that's my sigfig. I put him on a pimped-out purple motorbike, because, y'know, purpleparadox? And the paradox part is where the bike gets it's name. I put in some things to represent my three favourite themes; a Batarang for Superheroes, a new-style sword for Lord of the Rings, and a (purple) lightsaber for Star Wars. The trans-clear parts are just there because they look awesome. If you want any more angles of the bike, I'll throw in a link to my MOCPages tomorrow. Do you guys like it? I do...my only gripe is that the purple turned out looking more like blue in the photos I took. Ah well. And finally, I want to thank Eurobricks. I wouldn't have made 1000 posts here if it wasn't the best forum on the web! Thank you to the wonderful, hard-working, dedicated staff, and to the warm, friendly, hilarious, and brilliant community. You guys are the best!

Single Pane LEGO Licensed Theme Funnies
purpleparadox replied to Gregorovich's topic in LEGO Licensed
Just as good as usual, Oky! Now let's see a fight between HP and Avatar! I say Harry Potter would end up on top, but let's not turn this into a "Who would win?" topic. -
Rats! I was hoping you'd posted here to announce the next RCB. Oh well, at least it hasn't been forgotten! I'll be waiting in anticipation. Maybe we should render the finished model in LDD2PovRay! That'd look nice.

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
purpleparadox replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
Not to mention they're only showing The Hobbit, not LOTR. The Hobbit's a 2013 theme too. But, if they are intending to be displaying only 2013 figs...why wouldn't they put more of the new Superheroes figs, rather than Aquaman and a bunch of re-releases? Either way, I believe we're thinking into it too much. I'm sure we'll get Thor: TDW sets, but this isn't necessarily an indicator for or against them. We shouldn't make predictions based on every little thing. -
Well, this is a prime example of purpleparadox not paying enough attention! Oh well, awesome MOCs.
-
The purist ones are okay, but it's the custom dwarf that I like! You did a great paintjob. I like the colour of his armour and helmet, and his weapons are painted nice and cleanly too. I'd love to see a silver stencil or design of some kind on the shield! That'd complete the fig. It's hard to believe this is your first custom! Most people's are sloppy. I guess you're an exception!

Quick Pic Review: 6873 Spider-Man's Doc Ock Ambush
purpleparadox replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
Thanks for posting these pics! I'll have to wait until Oky's review to give a final judgement, but right now I'm split. I wasn't going to buy it due to the price and not-so-good set, but the minifigs are good. I guess I'll keep an eye on Bricklink prices for them but I think buying the whole set'll be the better deal. So far I just don't like the overall structure, and $30 ($40 in Canada) for 295 pieces is horrible! Agh, I'm so conflicted. -
Dark Knight Rises - Custom Minifigs
purpleparadox replied to DarkKnight7's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Here's to the end of an outstanding movie trilogy! I have to wait to see it too. I'm waiting until Sunday so I can meet my brothers to go watch it. So excited! Your figures are awesome. These are the best out of all the customs you've posted. The decals are great! My only criticism is (like CM4S said) Batman looks pretty pale. Sounds neat! I'll probably pass on Batman and Bane, because TLG is releasing official versions of those next year. But if they don't make TDKR Catwoman...I might be interested in purchasing one of yours! Thanks for getting me pumped for The Dark Knight Rises, and keep up the good customs! -
Soccer/International Football Customs
purpleparadox replied to DarkKnight7's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
There you go making another fine custom! The decals look nice, they're designed really well. Thanks for showing it to us! Now to go leave a comment on your excellent TDKR figures.... -
Nice one. But if I were you, I'd stay away from the Community forum for a little while. There's a couple debates going on right now about Mega Bloks and other clone brands.
-
Neat MOCs! It's interesting to see them in that scale. For some reason they remind me of Chibis. Nice work!
-
Not possible. There's a lot of mature content in the Mortal Instruments series, including gay characters, a bit of religious material and sexual innuendos. TLG would just not make sets based on it. It doesn't fit with their core demographic. Still, more realistic Vampires, Werewolves, and Demons would be welcome from me!
-
I might be buying multiples of this, as parts packs! All of the tiles look useful. The rest'll make for good landscaping. Thank you Lego! Oh, and thanks for posting the pic, Darth Hagrid.

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
purpleparadox replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
Too detailed? I think not. TLG is doing everything exactly right. Personally I prefer more detailed minifigs. LOTR, TDKR, The Avengers, and most of the new Star Wars minifigs have put me in heaven. For those who prefer yellow figs, every non-licensed theme has those guys (not counting Friends). If you like even more old-school, the minifigs with the Modulars grant your wish. And if you like mini-dolls, just buy Friends. TLG has it all figured out. They've got something for everyone. You don't have to buy what you don't like! So let's not ruin this for others by complaining about the sets/figs that don't interest us. Lego is at one of it's primes right now, so let's be grateful!
