That's a beautiful church! I love all of the flowers outside and the detailing on the roof. The priest's robe is excellent! Awesome idea. And the pipe organ is incredible. Overall, amazing work. Thanks for sharing.

American Pickers go to Tatooine - Episode I
purpleparadox replied to Brickscape's topic in Brick Flicks & Comics
I've never watched American Pickers, but this is pretty funny. The photography is good too. What program did you put the comic together with? Well, now to go read the rest of the series. Great comic! -
I agree. Usually it's definitely not hot here! Although today was a rare exception. 32° (Celsius) here in Manitoba!

I have that on DVD. I remember someone else pointed out the new Jabba. Now I have to go check for the Rancor. -
LEGO Superheroes 2012 Rumours & Discussion
purpleparadox replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Licensed
Well, I'd love close-ups, but here are some of my thoughts: Venom- Head printing looks great, the torso's a bit iffy though. Nick Fury- He looks exactly like I expected: which is fantastic. Really movie-accurate. Spidey- I'm not sure...he looks like he's straight out of a cartoon, which is good I suppose, but I'd prefer darker colours instead. Dr. Doom- Again, perfectly accurate. So where's the Fantastic Four? Is that JJJ? If it is, pretty good. Needs a cigar though. White Batman suit- I'm not familiar with it but it looks amazing. Aquaman- Not my favourite character in the first place but his torso printing looks fantastic. Bane- OH. MY. GOSH. TLG made him!!!! Some of the most detailed printing of this batch of characters. 9/10. Oh please, please, don't be in an expensive set. Out of what we've seen so far, he's the one I'm most excited about. Commissioner Gordon- Pretty much the same sentiments as for Bane. Robin- He's the one out of this bunch that I'm least excited about. But it's still a great variant. Scarecrow- Looks fantastic. They captured his demented, scary look pretty well. Joker- Nothing outstanding but I do love the Arkham Asylum inmate suit. Penguin- Too far away for a really good look but his face looks awesome. They nailed it much better than the first design. Dr Harleen Quinzel- Thrilled to have her. I'm way happier with this than a Harley Quinn. Thank you TLG! Overall, an outstanding bunch. These figs are almost as good as LOTR. If 2013's Star Wars is half as amazing as LOTR/The Hobbit and Superheroes, than I honestly don't know what I'm gonna do. One more big thanks to TLG. -
That museum in Ohio seems interesting! While my family and I were at Brick City, I'd say about 3 other families were visiting. And I heard that that particular day had been a slow one. So, I don't think it'd be too hard to regain some money with an attraction like this. They also had a small Lego shop in there but the selection wasn't amazing and everything had an almost 50% markup!

Welcome to Eurobricks! It's a good time to be a Lego fan. Have you seen the new Rancor Pit set? Or Bag End? Well, enjoy your time here! See ya around.

LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 8 Rumours & Discussion
purpleparadox replied to Piranha's topic in Special LEGO Themes
The one I like best is the DJ. Looks simple enough for me to replace the yellow with flesh. But most importantly, we finally get headphones!! I wonder if they'll be attached to his hair or not. I'm hoping for the latter but it looks like the former. His torso looks fantastic too and the disc looks great. EDIT: Actually, almost all of the figs I want look simple enough to replace yellow with flesh. And with the black Man-bat thing, it's not even an issue. -
I never thought of it in that perspective. When you put it like that, you're right! It makes sense to disclude a back. But...now I feel a need to MOC the whole mountain with Bag End built in!

Wow Hobbestimus! That's an awesome shot. It really captures the feel of Cap going into war in the 20th century.
-
Nooo! The interior isn't enclosed! Oh well, I'll still buy the set. It's even got a pretzel for goodness' sake! I just need to modify it to have a back and lift-off roof. That's the beauty of Lego...you can change whatever you want!
-
The building's not huge...a bit bigger than a store in a mall. It's not part of his house. It'd be great if it were free, but it's not, which is awesome at the same time because he's making money from his hobby and passion! Admission is cheap though, something in the $6-8 range I think.
-
Sweet! It looks sturdy and compact, but the roundness is what really makes it stand out. The guns look great too. The astromech is a nice touch! It gives an almost Mandalorian feel but maybe that's just me. Either way, fantastic ship!

LEGO Star Wars 2013 Pictures and Rumors
purpleparadox replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
There's not a part of this I don't like! Well, until we find out the price . Ep. 6 Luke is still outstanding, and so are the Gamorrean and Malikili. The pit itself looks even better than I dared to hope for. I love the details like the key and bucket! Of course though, the high point of the set is: THE RANCOR! I'm glad we finally get one. No, it's not brick-built, but who honestly thought it would be? The mould for it is completely outstanding. Waaaay more detail than Lego used to have, and I'm sure I speak for the whole Lego community when I thank TLG for that! If this is any sign of what the 2013 sets will be like, I'm gonna be hard-pressed to get everything I want. I love 1st world problems. -
LEGO Superheroes 2012 Rumours & Discussion

Seems like solid evidence of Arkham Asylum to me! I don't know what's better; Arkham, Rancor Pit, or Bag End! I'll have to get all three. Great find. -
Awesome! So this is what we've all been waiting for. I'd say it met expectations pretty well. The minifigs are still great. I love the windows and I think TLG nailed Hobbit architecture as well as they can in a set. The garden, gate, bench, and chimney all look good too. I'm most likely gonna buy it...just depends on a few more factors. I really hope it's got a closed back rather than open. I'm fine with hinges or a lift-off roof (which seems more unlikely, looking at the set), but I won't be happy with an open back. The only other thing it needs for my buy is to fit in my budget. Interior I can redo myself if it's not quite satisfactory. I'm thinking it'll be good though, with what I can see through the door. I'm excited for the rest of the wave now!

Looks pretty great! I like the Bat best. It's not done in Lego quite as often as the Tumbler so it's nice to see. It all seems pretty accurate, so, awesome job!
-
It is pretty cool! Sorry, I didn't take too many other pictures of trains or bridges...I kinda gravitated towards the other MOCs more. I love the Canada flag recreated in Lego flowers. It'll be one of the pics I deeplink from my album.

During my excellent summer vacation, I made a stop at a layout in Niagara Falls (on Clifton Hill) called Brick City. Over half a million bricks, and all one man's personal collection, and it's got something for everyone! To give a quick list: -MOCs, from mosaics to sculptures, skyscrapers, to rock concerts to landmarks (including Niagara Falls and the CN Tower) -Sets on display; Modulars, and SW ships hanging from the roof -Areas for little ones to play and build -I Spy details like Spidey swinging on a building -Train and ship layouts There's a lot more, but I'm starting to sound more like an advertiser than a visitor! Here's a link for now, and I'll deeplink some pictures soon. Brick City!

Awesome! Thanks a ton. I'm trying to take in as many different piano designs as I can before I attempt my own. I'm thinking I'd like to try some sort of piano that turns into a Star Wars ship...that'd be pretty cool.

I was reading through the Infinite Crisis comics and saw this version of Lex, if anyone's interested: Seems pretty darn accurate to me.

WIP - Bane's Tactical Vest
purpleparadox replied to WetWired's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
I can see why you're not thrilled, but it still looks pretty good to me! I guess 3D printing just isn't ready for all that detail yet. Whatever you do, don't be discouraged. You're one of the best customizers on Eurobricks! I know I'm anxiously waiting to see what you come up with next, and great effort on this project! -
What's cooking? I know what's cooking; a Wookiee steak! Only problem is, it's too Chewie. As for the MOC....Clone O' pretty much summed it up by saying "wow". I don't know where to begin praising it! All the great details, all the humor, everything's awesome. Thanks for sharing this fantastic work with us.
