So...I'm slightly embarrassed to say I'd never known what the Roswell Incident was until I looked it up today, my curiosity sparked by your MOC. That said, awesome work! I'm slightly jealous of all the HAZMAT suits you own. The UFO looks great, as does the landscaping/groundwork.

It looks awesome, and accurate as far as I can tell! I'm anxiously awaiting the brick-built version.
-
Wait a second...I thought in the Battle of Five Armies!

This is probably one of the best playground MOCs I've ever seen! All of the toys are designed perfectly. Although that slide is going straight into the fence! Some poor kid's gonna go right through. Awesome work building this entry. Best of luck!

Looks great! The fence/gate is cool, and nice parts usage with the hockey nets. The thing that seems to be grabbing my attention most is the bush in the corner, with the pink flowers. It's an awesome little detail that flows perfectly with the whole MOC. Oh, and of course the parlor looks sweet too. Good luck!

I'd say you're right, considering he customized a helmet for one. There's a topic for it in the MCW.

My thoughts exactly.

SW Delta team custom helmet
purpleparadox replied to Alexandr's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
It looks good so far! I'm looking forward to seeing it with decals. The other thing I might recommend is painting/glazing the helmet somehow? It just seems a little bit rough at the moment... -
Hey Spike! Welcome to Eurobricks. Do ya like building MOCs? Enjoy the site! -purpleparadox

Great entry with lots o' details! Everything's awesome, but for some reason the parts that strike me most are the two buildings in the back corners; the restroom and entrance to the enclosure. They're built so well and fit so perfectly. You can really tell a lot of thought and work went into this MOC! Best of luck.

LEGO® CUUSOO 空想 - Turn your model wishes into reality
purpleparadox replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Thank you! That's what I've been trying to say. One thing we need to keep in mind is: we have CUUSOO! We have a tool to get the Lego (albeit target-group appropriate) sets we want! I know many of us here can remember when Lego didn't even have themes like Star Wars or Superheroes. Now we're complaining because we aren't getting Lego Shaun of the Dead? We aren't getting Street Fighter? Let's face it, despite how awesome some projects (especially SofD) are, they wouldn't be produced. We need to count our blessings. We've got this tool to get what we want. We've got Lego Minecraft. We're likely getting the Modular Western Town, and Back to the Future. We might even get Portal or Legend of Zelda! I don't want to be a fanboy, here. I'm not going to blindly support decisions that don't make sense, and I don't mind other people stating their opinions. But this is something we've never seen with Lego. We ought to appreciate it a bit more! -
That isn't a set. That, is a set! A group of Tolkien Elven warriors? Heaven in Lego. Well, let's hope! Meanwhile, I'm thrilled about the announcement of a third The Hobbit movie. Pretty much guarantees us at least a few more Lego sets! Not to mention, more Hobbit-cinema-goodness. My day is made.

LEGO® CUUSOO 空想 - Turn your model wishes into reality
purpleparadox replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
It was aimed at 12-16 year olds, while Lego's main age group is the 6-12 range. Now, I've never played Street Fighter, but isn't it mainly about violence? I can't see Lego making that. -
Woah! Great-looking MOC. The rounded floor and wall are done really well, and all of the little details are spot-on. The only thing I don't like is the switching between flesh and yellow figs. But that's probably just because I prefer flesh.

There were more than one - the one Lucius was originally showing Bruce was the one that he also was looking at in the end, and he had gotten a second black one to give to Bruce. (What doesn't make sense is why Bruce would've fixed both of them, because he clearly took his black one back to the Batcave and we never see him go back to Wayne Enterprises, but a lot of details like that in the film don't really add up and I don't think it matters that much.) I think the reason Bruce fixed both of them was to let Lucius Fox know that he had survived. Bruce had been dropping hints to the people who knew he was Batman (fixed Batsignal for Gordon, led Blake to the Batcave, went to café in Paris for Alfred). Fixing the autopilot in both of them was his hint to Lucius Fox.

[MOC] Batman & Batpod (Moodland Scale)
purpleparadox replied to M<0><0<DSWIM's topic in LEGO Licensed
I've been waiting for this ever since you mentioned it in the SW forum! Looks fantastic. One thing that really catches my eye is the way you did his cape. How 'bout a Moodland scale Joker? -
Detective Comics Comics Minifigures

Pretty cool, considering your limitations! (Purist customizing can be dang tricky.) But wait...no Nightwing? Or am I missing him? -
LEGO® CUUSOO 空想 - Turn your model wishes into reality
purpleparadox replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'm gonna have to disagree with you here. Rejecting the Street Fighter project makes perfect sense, and almost any Lego fan could tell you that it wouldn't get made. The source material contains too much violent and mature content for Lego. It's not good for Lego's target audience. Rejected many projects? There's hardly been enough to call it "many". But the thing that really puts me off most, out of everything you said, is "According to Lego anything pop culture is rejected". That's not true. They never stated anything about rejecting everything pop culture. They're simply rejecting projects that contain material unfit for their target consumer group. -
Yeah, I've never seen licensed polybags at my closest TRU. Now, I can't exactly answer the "Who decides?" question, but I don't think the Frodo's Kitchen polybag is that bad. In fact, I'll be buying multiples when I get the chance! You get a great and expressionate head, a pretty useful torso, a cool hairpiece (hobbit hair is crazy detailed! I love the hobbit hairpieces I own, and I want more!), and short legs, among a few fairly good pieces. Count yourself lucky that you have access to the polybag!

Let me just say it right now: get Desert Skiff before Droid Escape. I'm aware that Droid Escape has (awesome) Sandtroopers...but Desert Skiff comes with completely outstanding figs! And the build is more interesting. Do what you want, but I HIGHLY recommend Desert Skiff.

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
purpleparadox replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
It seems like a good point you made, except for the reason I mentioned above, and the fact that it was stated that the set was simply inspired by the movie, not directly based off of it. Nice catch, though! -
100% Purist chris nolan Batman figures
purpleparadox replied to The Joker1's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Pretty good for purist customs! I myself prefer modifying figs/parts if it gets me the minifig I want, but to each his own. Some of them I'm not loving too much (Jonathan Crane), however, I do like your solution for Ra's Al Ghul. -
Which Hobbit set are you most looking forward to?
purpleparadox replied to Ferrik's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
It seems a bit silly to be voting on these before we even have official confirmation that they're real. Sure, Bag End is true, but anyone could've guessed that it was coming. Anyway, I voted for "Escape in Barrels". If it is real, it looks to be the only one that stands a chance of getting Elves. -
Congrats guys! Your entries were awesome and hilarious.
