  1. Looks very good NewRight! But I'm confused, is this one or the one with the river that is your entry for the contest? I liked the latter one better if I should be honest but this one is nice too

    City 2010

Thanks grogall! The green torso on the man looks absolutely great! All the micro LEGO sets are very funny and so is the showering Santa I will surely buy this one and the Kingdoms too when they come out. Great sets!
  3. Heh huh? Who attacked me you say? Attacking an innocent camel just because the Nizam have used camels in their killing are not very right. We camels are obviously just as much victims as ordinary civilians. I believe we need to look beyond the appearance of our fellow citizens and into their minds to find the true Nizam. At this stage we are all equal, humans, camels and even monkeys, it's no guarantee that anyone is innocent but accusing somebody for being a Nizam just because of their looks is very racist. We must continue to act like civilized people (or animals) even is this harsh time. So lets be careful with how you spend your wishes, this night looks like a golden opportunity to take out the Nizam. Double the kills, double the chances, right? (maybe double the fun too )
  4. If that's correct I would be surprised if we haven't killed of at least 1 or 2 Nizam at the end of this night. If we're only facing 5 enemies I believe we have a quite good chance of taking them out soon. We just have to think carefully about who has not talked much, which I find very suspicious, and who are almost definitely good civilians according to the clues the Grand Vizier has given us. I know one that I'm going to protect.
  5. Birthday, Happy Shadows! Oh, look how happy you are! -> Hope you have an awesome day, oh Grand Vizier!
  6. Does the picture have to have no minifigs at all or is it just the collectible minifig that has to be missing? For example, I make a vignette for the clown with an audience that's laughing - do I have to get rid of the audience too for the picture then? Edit: Much clearer now, thank you!

    Hockey WC 2010

Apperntly the South African Ice Hockey team is in Division III, the lowest level of the IIHF World Championships. Wiki-link Only the 16 teams in the championship group are playing in the "real" World Cup with chance of winning the gold medal. So I think South Africa better concentrate on the football WC this summer Go Bafana Bafana!
  8. I guess that's correct. Unless the oh-so-mighty Grand Vizier meant that the daggers were flying from both sides? A little unclear but I believe Ricecracker might be either a very, VERY skilled Nizam who tries to protect an innocent civilian to make himself look innocent, or just a normal citizen who really is innocent. I'm leaning more to the latter, I don't think the Nizam are that clever, I guess they were just lucky to escape our knifes and tricks last night. This night the luck is on our side hopefully.
  9. I really like the sand green you have used, looks very nice as contrast to the grey. I'm not so sure about the dark red for the cannon however. Seems odd and the design looks strange, I'm not sure what you was going for there. But I like the overall concept with lots of landscaping. Nice to see that someone else is doing fleshies too
  10. Are you just counting from the day? Because a lot of those people have spoken tonight.
  11. I can provide you with some, no problem! Please give me some camel fodder and your order should be on it's way. However, cover myself in my own faeces seems kind of disgusting. Isn't there another, cleaner, way to repel those Nizam?
  12. Camel-napping Nizam?! Now I'm getting really scared! btw, V. Redwater, I think we know that there are at least 2 Nizam, maybe more...
  13. Definitely The Camel Thank you very much! Nice work everyone and congratulations to the winners! LOL
  14. Ooh, that's evil! I surely don't want that happen to me. Maybe I should rent my nice camel sides as advertising places? Then there will be no room for the Nizam to write their propaganda. Any merchant interested in getting more publicity? Only 5 buckets of camel food and you get a nice advertising board on the towns only Duckamel!
  15. Looks great Stash! However... I'm getting more and more used to my brick-built duck. If you have the time and pieces I would prefer if you could change my sigfig to this one: But the current minifig is OK too. Thanks for the great job!
  16. Did you get my species? The quite rare Duckamel (Camelus Anatidae Etzelius). We are very interesting animals with many good qualities. One of them is that we are immortal, or at least I hope that's true
  17. I would like a Mozart minifig. Gender: Male Occupation/print on torso: Violinist, 18th century clothing Type of headgear: Powdered wig Type of facial expression: Enjoying the music, closed eyes Colour on torso/legs: White or tan or light blue Accessory: Violin I think a minifig like that would satisfy many needs for the AFOLs, a new hairpiece that Pirate fans have been asking for a long time, torso that would fit for historical uses, an accessory that is really new and appealing to town fans and a head with a different expression than usual.
  18. What's the big deal? I got both versions too, my Battle for Alamut came with the octagonal and but in The Fight for the Dagger and Ostrich Race it was the square version. The difference isn't that big and it doesn't effect their functionality (eg. both fits perfectly in the katana holder).
  19. Why would people want them unopened? I can't see the reason for keeping this kind of set MINT
  20. Because the barrels where down on the courtyard and the fire was up on the roof. Try taking a +100 kilo barrel and carry it up two stairs while 10 000 Turks are firing at you and you'll see why they didn't do that
  21. Yes, we do! Head over here to SweBrick and get your answer: LINK
  22. Smarter than a bulldog apperntly No worries, thanks to Sir Dillon! Thanks, keeping this intact until the autumn will be tough, it contains almost all my tiles in good colours and my brown and tan bricks that are left can almost be counted on my fingers But I'll do my best, expect my forthcoming MOCs to be green, grey and red Thanks for your kind words Mac-K! I really appreciate that you liked my history teaching, I didn't write that long back story for nothing then. This event is just so crazy in every way that it makes a good story anyway you tell it. Thanks guys, I happy you liked it! The headgear of the Turks are made of a tire (30028 on BL) and in most cases a fez. 4 of the Turks got a dark red cylinder instead because I ran out of fez's (I bought a bunch from BL but they weren't enough). The three black dressed Turks have two white round plates instead of a fez, that makes about the same hight.
  23. Hey, what happened? Why has my topic been moved to Historic Themes forum? It is a historical event but it's supposed to be in the Pirate MOCs forum where I posted it since it's an entry for a contest there. Could the staff member that moved it (or some other staff member) please move it back to where it belong, thank you very much
  24. After the great defeat of the Swedish Carolean army at the Battle of Poltava and the Surrender at Perevolochna in 1709, the Swedish king Charles XII fled with the small remains of his once great army to the Ottoman Empire. The Swedes got to stay at the village of Warnitza near the town of Bender in present day Moldavia while the king and his diplomats tried to intrigue the Ottoman Grand Vizier and Sultan to engage at war with Russia. After more than 3 years the Turks became tired of their guests and on the 1 of February they attacked the Swedish camp to throw them out. The Turkish army is estimated to have been about 6000-10000 men strong while the Swedes only had about 1000 men. Most of the Swedish soldiers realized the hopeless situation and surrender to the Turks before any fighting begun, but the ever so stubborn, brave and somewhat reckless Charles XII refused to surrender. Together with about 50 soldiers he barricaded himself inside the King's House, a large building that the Swedes had built in their camp. The fight continued the whole day as the king and his brave men fought of wave after wave of Turkish soldiers. Eventually the Turks managed to set the house's roof on fire. The Swedes tried to put out the fire but to their misfortune the only liquids they had available was liquor and wine which only increased the fire. This was also the only beverages that the Swedes had to drink and some sure got a bit too fussy to fight properly after that. As the fire spread the Swedish soldiers decided to leave the house for another building on stone that was placed not far across the courtyard. During their break-out the king, maybe a bit tipsy from the wine, tripped on his own spurs and was quickly captured by the Turks. The aftermath became that the Swedes eventually had to leave the Ottoman Empire but also that a new word was brought into the Swedish language. The Turkish word for crowd was kalabalik, which after this event became a word also in Swedish, here however with the meaning "confusion" or "great disorder". I hope you managed to read the whole background because I think it's a very humorous historical event and I tried to include many details from the historical sources in the MOC. Close up front: The barrels in front of the entrance was filled with water that had frozen and served as barricades. Inside the King's House: Middle floor of the King's House: Ground floor left: Ground floor right: More pictures can be found at my flickr here: LINK If you have any questions about the MOC or the battle, don't hesitate to ask. Thanks for watching! /Etzel
