Welcome jnfindley! I hope you will enjoy your time here on Eurobricks and discover much more fun about the bricks we all love. You seem to have a great LEGO loving family, congratulation to that! And don't worry about your teenager's dark age, some time in the future they will turn back to the light

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 3 discussion
Etzel replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I think the Sumo Wrestler is quite good. Really nice hair, good head and useful torso. The weakest to me is the space alien because I'm not interested in space aliens, as simple as that. But another weak minifig is the Racer Car Driver with just a new head and new colour hair. But over all I'm quite happy with this serie, not as good as serie 2 maybe but still great! -

1. Skafte - Less is more! 2. Rick - Very effective! 3. Skalldyr - Skeleton animals is the sh*t! -
Yeah, Halloween is over but I don't care. Here is a typical Halloween MOC from me: And my camera seems to take worse and worse pictures, I need to do something about that soon

The weird thing about a December release is that the first reports on this theme said it should be released in April. But now that I'm checking the leaked catalogue it does say January, which would make a first appearence of the sets in December most likely. I was kind of hoping I would have more time to save up for this theme, there are so many great sets coming out this winter. But I'm also happy I won't have to wait that long for these sets!

Yes, at least 3 of every minifig in every box is the standard. But people have reported differences in this, including myself. I experienced the same scenario as you with an unopened box with zero spartans. I see it as just bad luck, I suggest we sacrifice some virgins and dance around naked in the moonlight until we have restored the LEGO gods blessing upon us.

Yes, it was posted in the Town forum: Here

Happy birthday guys! I tried to find a nice cake for you Corvus that would fit with your new name, but the one I found was rather macabre : But it's soon Halloween so maybe it ok.

Skafte, are you not familiar with Swebrick? www.swebrick.se/forum I'll have to apoligize in that case, I thought I had told you about it Anyway, we have a lot of information about sales and deals there. Along with all other interesting LEGO talk for us Swedes. Now bring your a**es over there!

Really nice, BlueBard! The van is, as everyone has said, very good. I like the details with the gas cap and door handles. I do think however that it looks a little short. Maybe one or two studs longer would have looked better. The police car looks good too, but a little small on my taste (I'm not a great fan of 4-wide ). Keep up the great work!

This collection have now been shown in 3 topics in less then a week: This one and http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=46093&view=findpost&p=836536 http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=22604&view=findpost&p=839317 IMO it's enough to have it in the Show your army topic. It's impressive that Lee has managed to collect that many spartans, yes. But how interesting is it? If you've seen one, you've seen all right? Now, if he makes a nice MOC with these spartans I'll be sure to appreciate it more.

There, fixed mine too: -
That's great, Skalldyr! Really great! I'll be keeping that design in mind for sure. Rubber bands can really make some good head gear if combined with the right object. This turban uses a similar technique: by timgould on Brickshelf

We are all familiar with the Toy Story set 7595 Army Men on Patrol, but this is the smaller version with only one soldier and a smaller jeep. It's a promotional polybag set and I suppose it will be available in some special way, maybe through the Mirror newspaper in the U.K. as some other TS promos. I got 3 of this set at a LUG meeting the other day and have no idea how it will be distributed. Set name: Army Jeep Set number: 30071 Theme: Toy Story Pieces: 33 (not incl. minifig) + 2 extras Minifigures: 1 Year of Release: 2010 Price: - Inventory on Bricklink This is it, a polybag with the set number, recommended age (pttf, like LEGO is a kids toy. We AFOLs know better.), logotypes of various kind, a picture of Woody and Buzz and of course the set itself. And out comes the pieces, but not all are green. All lined up. Nothing special here, everything has been made before and is quite common. The extras consists of a black lever and a trans-green round plate 1x1. Quick and simple instructions, no colour difficulties It shows pictures of two Toy Story sets from the first line, 7509 Woody and Buzz to the Rescue and 7593 Buzz’s Star Command Spaceship. The minifigure is the standard green solder as we've seen 3 of in 7595. It is with other words not a very special minifig and you can get them quite cheap. I've seen some creative uses of the green head but to me the torso and helmet is the good parts. Give the soldier yellow or fleshie head and hands and it's ready for some more realistic war action. The green is a bit bright for most areas, but I think it would fit great for a jungle army. Building the base, green and black and grey. It would have been fun if the whole set was just green but I on the other hand I don't think green tires would be very useful. The final car. The antenna makes it look like it's radio-controlled, maybe that's intentional because the car lacks any form of steering advice? A 1x2 panel works as a windscreen but it might be hard to look through it. Back, Front Here we have the jeep with it's driver. All set to conquer the world or being shot in a ditch, you decide! Some thoughts about this set. As a set this is quite boring. Just a common minifig and a simple vehicle. Sure, the minifig can be good if you're an army builder but you can get 4 of them with a better jeep much easier. Green is a colour I like, not as much as it's darker version but it's still very useful in MOCing so in that part the set gets a +. Of course, the ones that really wants this set has to be some kind of craz... hrmm, serious collectors with a taste for unusual and rare sets. Parts: 5/10 Some are useful but this set isn't a parts pack, not at all. + for the green colour though. Design: 4/10 It's a minimalistic car with a design similar to every other small minimalistic cars LEGO has made. Minifig: 5/10 Common minifig, has possibilities for nice modifications, army building material. Playability: 3/10 Well, it's a car with wheels so it can run on the ground if you like. I bet this car would have done better in the ULV-race(Ultimate LEGO Vehicle) I participated in last weekend then the car I had then, I suck at building vehicles Price Availability: 1/10 Really poor so far, but it might change. Overall: 4/10 It's nice to get for free, like I did, but if you aren't a collector I don't see why you should buy it for more than 3€. Get the 7595 instead in that case. Do you wonder what important mission our soldier was up to? Here it is: /Etzel

A really great work, Fonzy! Way to introduce yourself to this forum! I really like the thick walls of this castle, it's nice to see someone who focus on the historical correct details like that. And all the nice windows and stairs you can make inside the walls are great bonuses. Overall I find this MOC really impressive but maybe a few things could improve it. I don't like the use of the white windows, they look too modern to me. And maybe the castle suffers a bit from what is called "big-grey-wall-syndrome", it could use some randomly inserted bricks and plates in different tones of grey to break up the somewhat dull wall. Although it work quite well as it is now too. Anyway, really good and I hope we will see more MOCs from you

What's with the Sesame Street names of the moderators?

Of course not. Why would something fun ever happen at this site. It's as boring as always. And that's how we like it, right? In fact, I think that writing this post is a bit too fun for me. I better go and do something less stimulating, like watching some batteries recharge. -
Me want Pretzel!!!! - This title would suit me very well if I had been named Pretzel Monster after the Cookie Monster on Sesame Street during some Muppets-name-change amongst the fellows and staff. However, to my knowledge something like that has never happened...

Hi! This MOC is just an expansion of my Category B entry in Eurobricks Collectable LEGO Minifigures Series 2 Building Contest. I was happy with the front of the temple and thought it would look good with some nice surroundings so I decided to build this. It's not very advanced since most of my pieces are already used in some other MOCs of mine (which I want to keep assembled for a display my LUG will have in November). Some might wonder why I'm using Exo-Force heads for the minifigs. That's because I think they fit very well with the Spartan helmet. Normal minifigs got the eyes to close to the nose guard I think, and it makes them look a little stupid. I've never really liked the Exo-Force heads before but I might have to change my mind now Anyway, enough talk. Here are the pictures (which aren't top class either, apologizes for that): That's it. I eagerly awaits the column pieces in the Diagon Alley and Atlantis sets in January, then it's time for some more Greek MOCs I think Thanks for watching!

Too much talk. All crazy. Why no pretzels? Me want pretzels! -
Thanks for all the nice congratulations! It's been a nice day with sunshine and even a piece of cake. Although it was not as cool as LuxorV's one No new LEGO today, but since I got The Burrows yesterday and 3 Collectible minifigs about a week ago from brother I'm very pleased. I've also started to build a new MOC, hope to be ready with it before Sunday.
