  1. Looks like I didn't read the review as good as I thought. I guess a second time won't hurt.
  2. I think you have a lot of imagination to be able to come up with such idea (a good thing to have as a LEGO builder but not preferable when using it like this). Besides, you don't got your facts right: Bonnie Wright who's playing Ginny is 19 years old (born 1991) so she's even welcome on Eurobricks if she want. Also, the review isn't once referring to the actress. The obsession is all about the minifig, a love that many of us AFOLs can realte to
  3. No, I don't think TLG is overreacting. The pictures aren't supposed to be out by now, and therefore TLG deletes them of course. I know that it seems like a pretty useless action since when the pics has found their way out on the internet there's nothing to stop them, but I think TLG still needs to stand up and mark that it's not OK for them. We AFOLs are very spoiled with preliminary pictures and sometimes we act like it's our "right" to see pics half a year before they are released. Do we need 6 months of planning and preparation to decide which sets to buy? I did enjoy seeing the pictures of the winter and spring sets, but I sure wouldn't be upset if I would've had to wait a couple of months more.
  4. Voted! But he better release that fig (or at least the hairpiece) if he wins!
  5. Got it today and finished building it just a while ago. This really is a great set! Thanks for the review, Cloney! Got me thinking about some details I didn't paid much attention to. I'm mostly impressed by the number of "normal" parts that this set contains. Many PoP-coloured bricks, log bricks in both brown and dark brown, plenty of dark red slopes and other good stuff. Stickers are both good and bad to me, but in this set I wanted to use them all, though it's a future question if I'll be able to come up with a good use for them in MOCing. It's one thing I don't agree with you in your review. I think the old Ginny-minifig is really good! I've used that head in a lot of MOCs and really like it. And it's not really fair to compare her to the new version, I think
  6. Great work everyone, here are my votes: 2p, 6) DJ Entry (Build by Duke) - Nice use of the promo brick and snakes on the outside. I'm impressed how much details you managed to fit in this vignette without making it look cramped. 1p, 32) Vampire Entry (Build by Cecilie) - Very nice with all the different rooms. It's like a doll house but with a horror theme, much to like there. Good luck!
  7. My votes go to: 1p, 2) Robot & Weightlifter Entry (Build by Dan Church) - Humorous and well built. 1p, 16) Nurse & Vampire Entry (Build by chongcheng) - Love the colour scheme, it really gives a bloody ( ) impression. 1p, 21) Skater Boy & Traffic Cop Entry (Build by Masked Builder) - I like the simplicity in this MOC, clean and realistic Good luck everyone and a big thanks to WhiteFang for all the organising.
  8. Now, that's something! I guess my impact on the LEGO world has been greater that I expected
  9. That Europe map really got me stunned! Very, very cool and with all the buildings in micro scale too.
  10. Happy Birthday! Have a great day, Stash!
  11. Theme: Uni/College, Town Minifig Series 1: Skater Minifig Series 2: Spartan The skater boy has grown up and is going to college. His room-mate said that the apartment they are going to share is furnished in a Spartan way. However, this wasn't what the skater boy expected:
  12. I finally took a picture of my entry. Minifig: Explorer Theme: Adventurers would be the most fitting I guess. I think everyone understands where the explorer is supposed to go
  13. Unfortunately we got 20 brown bricks in the parliament too
  14. Bricklink it is. Got to get some small chains, bones, military helmet if not too expensive and maybe a blue and white head wrap. Sets look more or less what I expected, maybe a little better but still far from acceptable for me. Get some extra and put them in the osteo-lab for the student to examine!
  15. I buy them to use them And we have quite a lot of them here in Sweden so I don't think I'm preventing any kid from buying them. And, hold on this is controversial, I believe I can appreciate the minifigs better than the kids! I mean, they can get some SW or Atlantis fig and be just as happy with them. I, on the other hand, want the special minifigs that can be the icing of the cake on my MOCs. I find it really hard to feel sorry for the kids who don't get exactly the minifigs they want, spoiled kids are the worst. We are the hard core LEGO fans, and therefore we shouldn't feel sorry for buying what we want most I think. (It's sad that you Americans seems to have a hard time finding the minifigs, hopefully the stores will understand the demand soon and increase their stocks.)
  16. I've been looking a bit more into this and I'm afraid that it might be difficult for me to make it. It's right at the end of the term and possible the time where we will present our papers If I'm lucky it's the week before but I don't know yet. So "maybe" for me.
  17. I guess I'll bricklink some parts. I'm not a fan of huge technic vehicles so I think I'll pass on the sets. But I like the skeleton helmet and the nunchucks, and I'm curious to see how the torsos of the ninjas are printed (if they are), might be useful.
  18. Ooh, a lifeguard! Many thanks to the staff for this contest. It was very fun and different from earlier raffles and I hope that the one for series 3 will be even better (read: more difficult clues ).
  19. Quote from the 2011 themes and sets? topic: A mummy with wings perhaps? It's mentioned by Quex at 1001steine too that a new part will be "wings" (check first post). I would guess the theme will have one adventurer-like team fighting a fantasy mummy faction. As a small reminder too, there are several flying creatures in the Egyptian mythology, falcons, scarabs, griffins. If Johnny Thunder and his crew will make a return is impossible to say right now, even if I'm not counting on it. But since those minifigs are really cheap on Bricklink, it's easy to change the characters in the theme to those you want instead
  20. I think I was right, 3 minutes isn't too long to wait! Thanks, Navy Trooper Fenson! Maybe not quite as good as I had hoped for but still very nice, I will surely have to pick this up. The anglerfish minifig looks hilarious!
  21. Now this sounds like the Atlantis I would consider to buy! It's supposed to be released in January so I hope we won't have to wait for too long until some pictures are revealed.
  22. If you check the original post you'll see that it says "Mumie mit Skorpion, Sportlerin?". Google translation can be good but sometimes it's better to take a look at the original source too. (Mummy with scorpion, Female athlete (Tennis player according to nausicaakro )) I'm really interested in the Block House: I wonder how that kayak will look.
  23. It's from these Police sets: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=3068bpb61&in=S
  24. Thanks for that info, Fugazi. Sounds to me like an adventurers-like theme. Of course, I'm not expecting to much right now. I remember how the Atlantis theme really disappointed me when the pics came out. But I think we can get some nice pieces in this new theme.
