Four cows grassing and chewing the cud. And a cow has four stomachs, but I'm not sure if a LEGO cow has that so I put four of them in there just in case

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 5 discussion
Etzel replied to eiker86's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I agree with you, Fugazi. Too specific accessories are not needed, better with generic ones that can used for many different purposes (isn't that the idea with LEGO?). Some people in this topic seems to be disappointed that there aren't more new pieces in series 5, but I think it's much more important to get nice and interesting minifigs than just new pieces. The new axe for the Lumberjack for example is surely a nice and detailed piece, but I find the rest of the fig much more interesting with new head and torso print. If the axe had been the old one it wouldn't have changed my opinion of that fig. I can agree with that a new snake piece, perhaps in shape of a cobra, would have been a nice one to go with the Cleopatra fig. But the one we got work very well too IMO. It's a rattle snake sure, but it's quite generic at the same time and it's not difficult to ignore the "rattle". And I do believe that it cost more to make a completely new mould then making one they have already used. Designing isn't free. Anyway, it's also much cheaper to not have too many different moulds, that's part of what caused TLG to nearly go broke in the early 00's. -

Oh, nice indeed! Good to see that we get that student hat, I've seen pictures of it earlier but was afraid it was only some promotional thing. The Eskimo is really, really nice IMO. Fishing rod is not a bad accessory and the clothing is great! Lumberjack and Snowboarder is a bit boring but they got nice torso and head printing. The Mobster is also quite dull but the violin case is a fun touch. The female minifigs are great, really like the aerobics instructor or whatever that pink girl is. It seems TLG has secured another heap of my money already. -
Most welcome, Pandora! I'm sure you will find much fun to read about here now that you are here on your own and don't have to look over the shoulder of Rufus I definitely don't think giving away minifigs are sacrilegious, it's the perfect small gift for anyone! I've given away some to non-AFOL friends myself and they have always been well appreciated. It's even more fun when you can give minifigs that really fits the person. for example I gave the Surfer fig to a friend who surfs himself and the Sumo to a friend who is very interested in Japan. However, leaving a set like Medieval Market Village unopened is a serious "crime" according to me I hope the shuffle works because then we might meet at Windsor

The Viking is in Series 4 and the Dwarf is in Series 5. They both have silly fantasy helmets, round shields and axes, I say they are pretty similar. -

Not a penguin! I can take some inaccuracy from LEGO but a penguin to go with an Eskimo (or Inuit) would just be plain stupid and ignorant. -

Sandy's helmet got just that kind of slit when put together. It's right size too, so I'm positive it's that. -
Eurobricks Collectable LEGO Minifigures Series 3 Building Contest
Etzel replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Probably, people tend to vote on entries that looks good and that includes the photographic factors. But judging form your review pictures they aren't that bad. You should adjust the colours so you get rid of the reddish tone and maybe brighten it up a bit and they would be nice. No you can not use the sand green fish. Neither can you use for example, the brown maracas or the golden space gun, they are all series 3 parts. -
Happy birthday KimT! Hope it's been a nice day! I wish I would be able to join you and Ras and the gang at LEGO World but I'm afraid I'm not gonna make it. But I hope to meet you at Windsor later this year

I think I'll move this to the "what team do you support"-topic. It's basically just the same and we don't need a that many topics about non-LEGO stuff in a LEGO forum

You missed "Cannibal Escape", one of my favourites of this series I love to get more "tribal" minifigs and there are a lot of useful pieces in that set too. But I'm pretty impressed by all the sets. Probably won't buy the big ship but that's because lack of funds, not that I don't like it. The globe and the bottles are really great new pieces and the minifigs are top notch. Can see some that will fit well in with my Carolean army (Sir Norrington and the guy in Aqau de Vida). TLG is relly doing well with some of their licensed themes! -
Eurobricks Collectable LEGO Minifigures Series 3 Building Contest
Etzel replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
You are NOT allowed to have a serie 3 minifig (or part of one, or accessories of one) in any of the categories. This is the most asked question every time and I don't get why. It's perfectly clear in the rules. -
Well, for the first it's not a Eurobricks Contest, but held by Klementina privately at MOCpages and Flickr and she can of course have whatever rules she want. Secondly, although one can think that all contest should be open for all, I also think it's a fun concept that the male LEGO fans out there should try and get in touch with their romantic side. If some girls feel left out I guess they just have to wait for another contest, I'm sure someone will have a only-girls contest if there is enough demand.

Very welcome my fellow countryman! I hope you enjoy your stay here. If you want to meet other Swedish LEGO fans I also recommend swebrick.se Ha de fint! /Etzel

Very, very impressive! I absolutely love the landscaping, nice smooth green fields and detailed cliffs The small village is also a favourite, the houses fit's together nicely and the guard towers gives good height differences. Great work!
-
Oh I see. Well, maybe Ras can help you with that, but I think it will be a very rough plan in that case since it's quite some time beofre it happens ;)

@richthelegodude: Check out the topics from earlier years EB Events, you can find them in this sub-forum with just a little searching. I might actually be able to make it to this event even though I doubted it just some weeks ago, but not earlier than the 2'nd of June. So 2-5 for me.

They will be orange. At least according to the picture in my catalogue. -

I think it's a Roman short-sword, a gladius. That would make most sense since that was what the Murmillo galdiator usually fought with. -
It's indeed a really nice work! I mean, who doesn't like ducks?

This is terrible news and I was very sad and shocked when I found out about it. Dieter was a really nice guy and he's devotion for this site was very inspiring. I had contact with him via PM's and while I didn't get to know him on a very personal level I still think he was a good friend and the loss of him is nothing but a tragedy. Lets all keep the memory of him in our hearts.
