Recently I've spent a lot of time MOD'ing other sets, but on the odd occasion, i make something original. Tinkering away one night, I decided to move away from the countless similar sports cars I design and try to make something thats still sporty, but a bit beefier. So I pulled up a picture of the Range Rover Evoque, and got to work, eventually finishing with this: I was pretty happy with what I'd come up with after two and a half hours. But I thought to myself, "This could still be beefier...." So i added some beef! Say hello to the newest vehicle in the Lego City Police Department's fleet! Fitted with a V8 (hence the raised bonnet section) a heavy bullbat to protect the front, a full complement of blues and twos and some high powered radio communications. This vehicle can be used in some of the fastest pursuits, but also doubles as a temporary communications base until the Mobile Police Unit turns up on the scene. I attempted to add some underside detailing, to show how the vehicle has a hardened chassis. The top of the vehicle is where the reporting number is located. And of course it fits one very cool Police Officer! No need to take his hat off here. The main aim since the beginning of designing this was to create a vehicle that would fit in between the scale of the typical 4 wide saloon and hatchback vehicles of City, and the bigger, 6 wide 4x4's. I don't have any built up 4x4's right now, but the prisoner transport van makes a good enough comparison. I hope you liked checking this out, and feel free to leave comments and criticism!

I doubt this would be a fully fleshed theme, as those sub themes would take up half a wall of a Brand Store alone. More likely? CMF's. Brick built figures. But as for a theme, no. -
The inclusion of the duple slide is a brilliant idea, and it fits into the swim park very well!

New 10220 Volkswagen T1 Camper van Box?
The Fezter replied to hwangmihee1's topic in Special LEGO Themes
The Mini Cooper should also start appearing in a new box soon. The entire Creator Expert line is being rebooted so they fit the same style with the new logo seen on the Ferrari F40. -
The new modular will be a corner one, if the typical corner-straight-straight-corner system is still being done. But I know it'll be £119.99 (or at least thats what I've been told)

Here starts the wishful thinking that we'll see that piece in LDD any time soon...

Managed to get mine together, thanks for the help

Ok, stuck again, does it use the moulded chassis piece?
-
I'll give it another shot. Thanks for the pictures

Any chance you could show how the front section is connected, i'm at a loss right now =/

Which country are you in? Here in the UK the sets have been pulled due to a possible moulding fault. Whether this is a worldwide issue or not, I don't know unfortunately. The issue with the Star Wars Advent calendar has been ignored by most other retailers in the UK, as I hear constantly of people picking them up from retailers such as Argos and Tesco

Tower Bridge has had it's shelf life extended by another couple years so it makes sense for Lego to update the box art to match the current range, plus change the type of cardboard used for the box (recent Creator Expert sets have used a thicker cardboard tome them more durable on the shelves, considering how often the boxes get picked up and carried around the stores)

REVIEW: 70751 Templeof Airjitsu
The Fezter replied to The Fezter's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
VIP release is still the same date. Could be it just hasn't been updated yet. The UK website has it available as long as you're logged in when looking at the page. -
The lab floor is brilliant.

REVIEW: 70751 Templeof Airjitsu
The Fezter replied to The Fezter's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Unfortunately I had to get the set in but if I remember correctly the footprint of the set is around 40+ studs diagonally. They're not which I must admit I was disappointed about. Yep 18th of August. -
REVIEW: 70751 Templeof Airjitsu
The Fezter replied to The Fezter's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I work for Lego so got to build it for the shop display. Can never say no to homework when it's Lego Just a camera and a hair brush, guess this plays into his character. Yeah, really sorry about the quality of some photographs, some were taken at night so they looked ok on the camera display but turned out a bit naff. Silly me decided to pack the tripod away so shots were all done handheld. -
Enjoy the ultimate LEGO® NINJAGO™ building experience as you construct the majestic Temple of Airjitzu and surrounding village! The highly detailed Temple building has many delightful architectural features including Oriental–style decorated windows and sliding doors. The intricate wooden-frame-style walls of the nearby Blacksmiths and beautiful curved roofs of the Smugglers Market will also test your LEGO building skills. And with every Ninja included in one set for the first time, plus loads of other key characters, you can role-play all your favorite NINJAGO adventures. Take tea in the reception area of the Temple, practice your Ninja moves in the training room or join Wu in his study to read or paint. Discover the Ninja glider upstairs at the Blacksmith’s workshop, cross the bridge guarded by the stone dragons and seek out hidden treasure at the Smugglers’ Market. Then turn off the lights in your room to watch the Temple’s illuminated spinning shadow theater! Includes 12 minifigures with assorted weapons: Lloyd, Kai, Jay, Zane, Cole, Nya, Wu, Misako, Dareth, Postman, Jesper and Claire. I'm going to start by first apologising for the pictures that will be following this review, as i'm preparing to move so the bodged white background I was using previously has been discarded as I'll be purchasing a proper photo box once settled in. But with that out the way, one go to...the Temple of Airjitsu!! Product number : 70751 Pieces count : 2028 Price : £169.99 Figure count : 12 (!!) Is this the first time a Lego own brand theme has received a D2C set? Honest question as I have no idea. It does seem an interesting venture, considering the fact that Ninjago is primarily aimed towards the younger builders. With a TV series and the odd couple of video game tie-ins involved, the theme definitely has a multi level presence, but enough to appeal to older builders? Labelled as a 14+ set, I can see a lot of parents having a christmas fluff building this set with the risk of it being pulled apart again notice at all. When I first saw the images for this set, it immediately reminded me of the Japanese Architecture set that had been uploaded to Ideas. It ended upping turned down, but did that choice then result in this set? If so, it's a very clever idea to do so. But how does it shape up against the likes of the Modular series of the UCS sets of Star Wars and Super Heroes? Lets find out. BOX The front of the box shares the same style as those of the Star Wars UCS sets, which helps to set it apart from the normal Ninjago sets. The back of the box gives the usual insights into the features of the set, such as the shadow theatre, fireworks cart and the little ninja glider making a cameo from the original ninja theme. The top of the box displays all the figures included, with them indifferent poses and their names labelled underneath. BAGS We get thirteen numbered bags (note the different style of numbering on the bags), plus one bag with three dark tan plates, two red technic flexi rods, two moulded rock formations, and the plastic screen that features in the shadow theatre. The Instruction booklet, once again bound in the same style as recent UCS sets, is packaged within a plastic bag to keep the pages undamaged, along with the sticker sheet (which I must admit I forgot to take a picture of). The instruction book has ten pages at the beginning that cover the story of Ninjago so far, plus character bio's for the figures included, and some behind-the-scenes info covering the design the set, the designers and more. THE BUILD As I go through the builds of each bag, I will show a picture containing elements which I feel are interesting or believe are featured in a new colour. BAG ONE Animals are always a bonus in any set, and intros one we get two chickens. Also included are 1x2x2 pale green bricks, 1x2x5 pale green bricks, and the 8x8 light blue plate. The base of the Smuggler's Market is complete, with the walls built up, and its wares, bread, fish, and fruit, are on display. BAG TWO The classic flower stalk appears in olive green for the first time I believe, and the droid arms also new in gold. The spear was featured previously in a Lord of the Rings/Hobbit set. At this point I also want to say how, for a 14+ set, I was quite surprised by the fact that most steps are only adding about two to three pieces. Seems like quite a low number to me. The Smuggler's Market complete. It just screams Japanese Architecture, and is very close to what I remember the Ideas set being. The treasure chest hidden under the sloping roof section's are obviously what give this building its name. I feel it's the better of the two outbuildings. BAG THREE AND FOUR Not sure about the following element, I feel it may have featured in this colour in Santa's Workshop. (Maybe someone can confirm this?) (Totally forgot too take pictures between Bag 3 and 4, I get really forgetful during these big builds) The Blacksmiths is nearly as good as the Smuggler's Market, nearly. The build technique follows the style of modulars, but the interior feels a little bare. The foliage surrounding the side is a nice touch though and adds character to the set as a whole. Plus I love the simple technique used to create the lamp in the far corner seen in the last picture. (It's one of the gold fez pieces with a clip element and a harpoon gun) BAG FIVE Only one piece again for this bag, a 6x6 round plate in light blue. The base of the Airjitsu Temple. The light blue round plate at the front is the start of the fountain at the base of the stairs. At the back you can see the first part of the shadow theatre being built. BAG SIX Quite a few bits of note in this bag. 1x2x5 brick in light tan, 3x3 curved brick in caramel, a light brick with orange bulb, and an ornamental wheel in gold, previously seen in both Disney Princess and a previous Ninjago set. Bag Six builds up the stairs that will lead to the Temple entrance, plus finishes off the Shadow Theatre, which is very effective with the light brick, and is pretty mesmerising to watch when you spin the micro figures inside. BAG SEVEN Yes, these door panels and window panes are indeed printed! No need to worry about misaligned stickers or fingerprints left on transparent stickers. We also get some of the rings from LotR and a beard piece in grey, nostrum if its a new moulding or not. The first floor of the Temple complete. The door panels slide inside of grooved plates, and they are held very tightly in place. BAG EIGHT No parts of any recognition in this bag, so onto the completed build section. The dojo training floor. The attack dummy is nice little build, plus the weapon station is simple but effective. BAG NINE This again contains a number of the small window panes that are printed. The second floor of the Temple is built up, and the base of the third floor takes shape. BAG TEN The third floor is the study room, with a painting area, and a small book case holder. BAG ELEVEN Here comes one of the bigger surprises in the build, the inclusion of train wheels. Surely this is the first time such an inclusion of this element has occurred in a non train related set? We also get a 1x1 trans. green tile with computer chip printed on it, only the second time since the Ultra Agents set. The gold book and paint palette have been seen a few times before. The roof again oozes that Japanese styling, and the attic is nice little touch that could easily have been left blank. BAG TWELVE Bag Twelve adds some more roof detail, completing the Temple with the separate roof edging. The build technique for the edging is very nice and compact. BAG THIRTEEN And here we are at the last bag. One of the new 6-stud shooters is included, plus the little dragon from Harry Potter makes a reappearance. The last few details are added, such as the glorious little fishing bridge, the fireworks cart, and the ninja glider. FIGURES Lets start with the ninja To me, these are the best ninja outfits throughout the life time of the theme. The black is perfectly accented by the colours of each ninja. One thing I did notice is that Kai appears to of earned a few more scars on his face, the last I remember seeing he only had the one covering his eye. Anyone able to confirm the new scars as canon? Zane again has two faces, and is the only figure in this set to have a dual face. The other seven figures are all exclusive to this set except for Nya, who wears this outfit in City of Stixx. We finally get Misako, yet to have Garmadon accompany her requires the Ninja DBX. CONCLUSION This set is very enjoyable, and with a build time of around 6-7 hours, will keep you going for most of the afternoon. The techniques definitely aren't anything drastically new, but they're neither boring or uninteresting. And whats more, it makes a brilliant set piece. This set would pair very well with the Fire Temple and The Battle of Ninjago City. And to give you a sense of its size.... All comments and questions are welcome after this review, and I hope that it will be good source of information for anyone considering purchasing this set. If anyone wants to see any other areas the set or figures, please feel free to ask, I will have the model with me for another couple of days before I have to take it in for display. Thanks for reading, Fezter out!

Get set for the ultimate Mech Battle as Zane’s Titan Mech takes on Blade Master Bansha’s Ghost mech – Mech-enstein! Place Zane in the cockpit and adjust the arms and legs and rotating torso for awesome battle poses. Fire the stud shooters and dodge the massive swords of the 4-armed Mech-enstein. Then take the action to the air with the rocket-booster backpack! Give Zane support with Jay and Nya, firing the spring-loaded hook shooter to try and topple the Ghost mech. Use all the cool Ninja weapons to stop Scythe Master Ghoultar getting into the Samurai X Cave and stealing the Aeroblade! Includes 5 minifigures with assorted weapon and accessory elements: Zane, Jay, Nya, Scythe Master Ghoultar and Blade Master Bansha. When I first heard of this set, I was very interested. When I first saw the set, I knew I'd be buying it. And so here we go, one brand new Ninjago review. Did it turn out to be everything I hoped for? Read on to find out! Set Name : Titan Mech Battle Set Number : 70737 Piece count : 754 Price : £39.99 Figures : 5 Front of Box. It does seem like a large box for a £40 set, but I guess it needs the width to show off the artwork. Back of Box. We get a couple of panels showing another battle image, a few images of the characters included, plus notifying you of which Aeroblade you get, and that there are others to collect. Top of Box. We see the five characters that we get in the set, plus one of the little Screemers, and the 1:1 scale image using Zane to convey the size. What you get inside. Two instruction books, two sticker sheets (one for each mech) and six bags. Bag one builds the little rock outcrop and missile shooting platform. Bags two and three make up Zane's Titan Mech (which also appears to be named Zane 2.0) and bags four, five and six make up Mech-enstein (yes thats the official name) (As a change from what I've done with previous reviews, I'm going to post the parts selections for each bag and their subsequent leftovers, and leave the reveal pictures for after) Parts selection from bag one. Leftover pieces from bag one. Parts selection from bag two. Leftover pieces from bag two. Parts selection from bag three. Leftover pieces from bag three. (Little worried about the 1x1 brick in white but after double-checking the instructions it's definitely not missing from the build) Parts selection from bag four. Leftover pieces from bag four. Parts selection from bag five. Leftover pieces from bag five. Parts selection from bag six. No leftover pieces from this bag, which was a nice surprise. So with the build complete, and the weather being very agreeable, I haphazardly carried it all outside for some better photo options. First up is this little rocky build which holds the Aeroblade. Lego label this as part of the Samurai X cave. Nothing major to note here, it does it's job for the story element of the set. Second is the little turret with the spring loaded missile. A little bit of back up for Zane, most likely included due to the slightly less imposing look of the Titan Mech to Mech-enstein. Samurai X. No major changes to her outfit that I can see, and comes with double face as standard. Jay. Once again we have a new outfit for the second half. He comes with a single sided face. Zane. Everyone's favourite nindroid is backing sporting the same new style costume as his fellow ninja Jay. He retains his double-sided face from the first half year sets. Skreemer. This little ghoul appears in multiple sets, and seems to be the grunt of the ghoulish baddies. These can be attached to a figure's head, I'm guessing to represent them being possessed. Scythe Master Ghoultar. (A pain in the behind to balance on his ghostly lower half) The obvious opposition for Jay and Nya to fend off. Blade Master Bansha. The driver of the Mech-enstein. The Titan Mech. I'm happy to say that it's every bit as good as I hoped it would be. The thing I like the most about this is the fact that it still looks darn awesome without a pilot. A couple of plates to fill the gap and you're good to go. The other thing that also attracted me to it is, weirdly, the legs. I can never MOC the legs of a mech to the pontiff me liking it, and yet theres such a simple build to them yet they look so good! I've been disheartened recently with the lack of any knees on the mech's that Lego have released recently, but with this it doesn't affect it at all, the model is still very posable. The blades on the arms of the mech are a nice touch, and the fact the designer placed them facing in opposite directions is a nice change, and stops the model looking too symmetrical. Mech-enstein. One of the largest vehicles in the ghoul arsenal, it's definitely an imposing beast. Think how General Greivous would look if he were in the world of Ninjago and was a dribble mech, and this is what you'd get. Four arms with massive sword blades, fierce claws, lots of ghoulish green and a creepy spider for good measure. Alas, there is one problem... There is hardly any movement in the ankles. The brown slope and spoiler piece limit the possibility to almost nothing. It suffers in the same kind of ways that Emmet's Constructo Mech did. Removing the spoiler helps with lending forward, but the brown slope piece is integral, and would need replacing with a 2x2 rather than the 2x3 used. Other than that, this set is perfect. Zane only appears in his normal ninja outfit in this set, but all the other figures show up in other sets with no change to their printings. I think one of the other major drawing points of this set is its PPP (price per piece). If my calculations are correct, then this set comes in at a pretty amazing £0.05 per piece. I know that it's not a licensed theme etc, but its still very good value considering the large amount of white and new coloured pieces included. I would go as far to say that this set is the highlight of not just the second half year sets, but for all of 2015 Ninjago. I hope you all enjoyed reading my review, and you're welcome to add any extras to the review if you wish. Some extra pictures can be found on my flickr at : https://flic.kr/s/aHskeEgJ6L

Carnage has broken out of prison and the SHIELD agent is in hot pursuit to recapture him. Place the SHIELD agent in the jet flyer’s cockpit, adjust the wings and soar into the sky. Fire the stud shooters to try and repel Carnage’s tentacular aerial attack! Luckily, Web-Warrior Miles Morales Spider-Man has swung into the LEGO® Marvel Super Heroes universe to help contain this creepy super villain. Topple Carnage with super-jumping Spider-Man and save the day! Includes 3 minifigures with a weaponelement and assorted accessory elements: Spider-Man, SHIELD agent and Carnage. FINALLY! After four years of seeing spiderman sets as part of the Marvel Super Heroes, we get a different version of Spiderman! Its been a wait, yet this year we actually get TWO versions. It's nice that Lego have finally addressed the fact that Spiderman is not just one person. But a new Spiderman figure isn't the only highlight of this set. Let's have a look at what else we get. Name : Carnage's SHIELD Sky Attack Piece count: 97 Price:£11.99 First off, the box. It's the standard affair, with an action shot showing off our characters and the build. The back of the box gives a second action shot of the vehicle on the ground, our plucky SHIELD Agent isn't so scared now. It also informs us of the inclusion of a Super Jumper, and a little demonstration of how it works. Down in the bottom right hand corner is an advert for the new Marvel Game. The top of the box gives the standard 1:1 scale for your figure. Inside you get two unnumbered bags, one folded instruction manual and a very small sticker sheet. Parts selection Spare parts The completed build The figures, from left to right, the SHIELD Agent, Spider Man and Carnage. First up, Carnage The printing on this figure is brilliant, and I was happy and surprised to see printing on his arms too. It's a shame that the back printing is covered by the neck bracket. Time for our hero, Spider Man When I saw the preliminary pictures of this set, I wasn't too sure about the figure. Now that I've got him in person, I take it all back. The figure is very faithful to the tv version, for once plain legs and arms are correct. The front and back printing is excellent, including the muscle definition. My only complaint is that Lego still haven't figured out how to print on the entirety of the head, the gap between front and back head printing is a little off-putting, but not horrible. (The only figure that really suffers from lack of side head printing is Nick Fury) Now for the SHIELD Agent Again, he features very nice printing, yet I was disappointed that his arms are plain, why did the arms from Maria Hill not get used. He would look a lot nicer with the SHIELD logo on his arm in my opinion. Lastly, it's the little SHIELD hovercraft. I love this little thing, its 100 times better than the build from Iron Man vs. Ultron. I can imagine having six of these flying around a Helicarrier with Venom and Carnage attacking them all. The small 2x2 round tiles with the fan printing are lovely and I can see those, plus the SHIELD Agent being a good enough reason to pick up multiple copies of this set. The characters have a few flaws but these are personal opinions, and hardly detract from the set at all. I would take this over the larger Spider Man set released this year any day, yet I'm in it for the figures so I'll probably stilled up getting that one too. Hope you've all enjoyed my second review on here, and please feel free to add any additions to this review that you have!

Something else to consider is that Lego need to spread out figures in waves. Sometimes creating a set that doesn't feature in the film at all is a way to do this. Everyone loves Cap, so they give him you in a cheap (£12) set that also comes with chitauri foot soldiers to build your army. Same goes for Iron Man vs. Ultron, it technically does feature in the film, the background of the box resembles the city they fight in, Iron Man does fight the Ultron Drones and it has the correct suit, the MK45. Yeah the flying craft doesn't feature, but Lego need to have an actual build element to it. Could they of built the control panel for the Vibranium gravity lift? Sure they could of, but thistle craft gives more swooshability probably. And once again, 3 Ultron drones per set will quickly build you a formidable army for your Avengers to fight against, and whose going to complain about some extra Iron Man figures?
-
Don't forget that Lego have insight into these films a lounge time before actual release. They can end up designing a set, signing it off, then having the film changed, leaving them with an unrelated set. Granted sets like the Iron Man 3 may have had creative licensed used instead, Lego probably heard that people wanted a War Machine figure, so they offered it. Iron Patriot then turned up as a giveaway with the game. The final scene in Iron Man 3 could never be recreated as a set, so the one we got in the end is a good enough payoff, especially with the unique Heartbreaker suit
