  1. Yes; long ago I was (trying to) making cars, but my version of Eleanor ended extremely heavy and lack of plates ended that it is still unfinished
  2. My models are primarily machinery replications, so I need some reduction ....
  3. Yes they are really expensive
  4. IMHO Deere is to expensive even as parts pack ...
  5. @Jurss using planetary reduction hubs from 42099 set will make it slower. Since XL motors spin at 220 rounds and L motor spins 315 rounds, this version will be slower than last; despite I have to save PF servo motors, so I switched back to use only one servo motor in this version
  6. Johannes, I have reinforced them with liftarms between black connectors and dark bluish gray ball joint, I have tested this solution on mule, so next step will be making axles. I'm still disappointed because I could not make 1:18 scale models...
  7. Since I could not (yet) make some narrow enough chassis for 1:18 scale JCB Fastrac 8330 (and can not use 42099 hubs), I have decided to reconstruct Fastrac 4220 in 1:15 scale using 2 XL motor for propulsion. As there is a topic for combining motors by @CharlesD I'll use my topic to present current state of this project. From PF XL motors I use 36 to 12 tooth gear upgearing and then 12 to 28 (new differential from 42109 set) as you can see on images below. at the end there will be planetary reduction hubs from 42099 set
  8. Yes it is; that was my goal. When time (better say 7month old kitten) alowes mo to work on it I'm optimizing chassis with frames... There is also one great thing about planetary reduction hubs; they allow bigger steering angle
  9. I remember it, but it has a been a while; I think it was posted in trucks topic. I see you are using PF XL motors; at the moment I'm rebuilding my Fastrac to use 2 PF XL motors and not to twist axles I had to use 36 to 12 output and then 12 to 28 (using new differential) and finally I use planetary hubs introduced in 42099 set.
  10. It has some interesting parts (recolored), but since I have lots of green panels and liftarms I can make Deere harvester in future... personally I don't see need to buy this set, but it's up to everyone to decide for himself / herself
  11. That kind one was on my mind when Lego introduced 68.7 x 27 tires on 1989 Batmobile, but (as usual) @efferman beat me with his gorgeous Scania recovery truck.
  12. Since no one reacted but you then you are probably right I know I should stick to JCB...
  13. @phmzt what if you use Technic cam part instead of 1 x 2 beam
  14. I see; it is more and more obvious that I'm too old.
  15. I agree, his videos are characterized with that off face gestures; he doesn't have even time to make his hair, like he just wake up... But I think @Maaboo35 didn't have intentions to disgust us Lego sets, but to show us how they are constructed... Not sure, I work with younger generation (ok they are students, but almost 30 years younger than me) and they would say he behaves more like prancer than someone who is cool.
  16. I tend to make compact models and this feature doesn't help me at all, or I to dumb for C+ generation Technic. My peek was using hard coupling PF XL motors with continuous power output...now I miss one XL motor from 42030 set with cable issue from the beginning.
  17. Front suspension looks promising, but I agree presented livery would be impossible to copy without custom stickers... Black hallo looks better IMHO..
  18. Yes they both have that "belly" on 2 sides ... PF XL would have been perfect if it was shaped like Control minus as @Saberwing40k mentioned and not like barrel, but other things are great with XL motor (great torque and short enough). Often this belly is pain in the a... when building MOCs and I don't like 7 or even 8 studs motors; they are simply to long for my MOCs; or LEGO should make bigger tires
  19. @Jeroen Ottens it looks like one of your great builds. Perhaps you should start own topic. IMHO your build deserves its own topic. You have cat named Norris; was there a cat named Chuck before? Btw, did you know that (Chuck) Norris scored goal through legs of goalkeeper in water polo
  20. Why not both? McLaren Honda dominated that era and Ferrari is the only company that was part of F1 from beginning; every season and of course Ferrari is also a legend.
  21. I have that image for a while on my mobile phone, so I know the engine position. My suggestion was based on my experience with Fastrac hood.
  22. I suppose that your version would be without suspension. If you want to make curvy good as it should be, I suggest you to move engine backwards for a few studs; you'll need space for making stiff front curvy part of the hood. Nice to see another tractor in development.
