  1. And I would appreciate you keeping your bigoted views to yourself ;-) No wonder you wanted to start a religion forum, you're already trying to push your beliefs on us :-D And no, acting is not like lying to an audience, since they're fully aware that they're seeing a performance. It's no more lying than say, you having a minifig as your avatar. By that token, you're lying to us since you're not a minifig!
  2. I actually find that reply pretty funny, considering how all the skellie lovers are complaining the new arms look way too robotic to be skeletal :-D I think they're true to the movie though, I mean the actual droid arm didn't change at all, it's just straight and the wrist is bent.
  3. Pinned. Oh, and 3PO obviously wins. He declares the little Ewok to stand down, and what Ewok would defy their deity?
  4. Exactly right! I mean a UCS AT-AT? What's next? A UCS Millenium Falcon? :-| :-P
  5. Yes! That's her! And I know she's a fleshie, but I'm willing to look past that *wub* ;-)
  6. There's no fun in that! What's better than standing around backstage naked, trying to carry on normal conversations with people? X-D
  7. Last I heard it's $50US :-P And by the way that's NOT Veers, it says "Imperial ____" under the fig...
  8. I pronounce MOC like "mock" :-P And as for AFOL, I picked "A Doll" which was closest to my way... A-fol (the fol is like the first part of "fold")
  9. Why didn't you tell us the date?! Congrats! But that's no excuse, get back to polls and vigs now! >:-( :-P You can't just have town left! You never included the lovely Katara in a poll *wub* My all-time favorite female fig!
  10. Eh, I'm sort've neutral about this. I was expecting a lot worse overall (especially the body), but at least it looks fairly system. The legs are an absolute disappointment, you can see the insides as all wires and...:-X Definitely a bad move there, especially when that could've been covered up (and will be MOCd). The number of figs was confirmed awhile ago, and is still disappointing, though I suppose this is a great deal for $50, electronics always pushes the price up, and I'd have expected something that looks like this to be $75 or so. I'll get it, but I'm not enthralled
  11. I really like not only the color blocking on this, but how it's made. While bionicle is nice, there's nothing wrong with merging it with some system to get a boosted effect. Overall this seems really well thought out and I like the way it's put together. I also like the fact that there's no mask on this one (seems different to me, though I've never been big in the bionicle community). You mentioned it was for a contest, what are the rules, and does this guy have a backstory?
  12. Well you seem to think that we need religion or something silly like that to be a community, there has to be something that's making you say this, motivating you
  13. There's no reason we can't have those through our hobbies, now is there? EB is fine, why, do you have some problem?
  14. Of course they are! And I thought i had, my apologies if I didn't express them well. The concept, execution, structure, and playability are all very well done, that's why I think it's such a great set! Or...that it would be a great set if it was cheaper. Some sets are just so poor that even if they were half the price they'd only be good as parts packs, they don't work as a set. I love this set, I think it's just completely over priced, which really ruins it, since they could have given us much more for the same as we paid. You seemed to get a very good deal, and I think that would be the real time that I'd consider getting one, on some sort of sale. Hell, if I saw it on sale I'd get a few most likely (like I said it's a great set), it's just not worth what they were trying to charge. I hope I wasn't as confusing this time
  15. I hope I'm not infringing upon this topic at all, as I did really enjoy your review! Thanks for making it :-) Now with that said... You mentioned you weren't sure about when the price referred to, however: From the link provided earlier, the MSRP refers to the price they held in stores (The Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price), which wouldn't refer to anything after it was no longer being sold, as it would no longer be retail by then, it would be on the secondary market. And yes, I know most people wouldn't buy a $50 set that was priced at $100, but it was a hyperbole on my part, comparing it to someone paying $7.25 for a set that is worth, IMO, $3-4! It's just not enough "bang for the buck" in my eyes, though I may be alone in that! And yes, I did base it on Peeron since, not only are their fairly reliable, but they're the only source we have to go by. While it's true that the market fluxes, it's also true that the US tends to always have sets more cheaply than the rest of the world, and it's always been that way to my limited knowledge. So it's it's that overpriced IMO in USD, I can just imagine how bad it was for the rest of the world!
  16. Well isn't that what we have Lego for? ;-) We already have something in common that brings us together. We can find peace in our hobby. We all share our love for the brick. And we all have an understanding that the new forum just isn't to be X-D
  17. And most likely it would be locked quickly, not only because it has nothing to do with the topicality of the forum, or because there's any religious censorship, but because people get carried away so fast, and then start arguing and it just gets messy. There are two things that should never be talked about in a forum that isn't specifically designed for either of them, and those are religion and politics. People can get so wound up over these it's ridiculous. It almost always turns into a huge flame war! And besides, there's no need for debate, because everyone has their own beliefs, and debates will just allow those beliefs to be argued about and defended, causing everyone to become frustrated. Debates about religion really don't tend to bring people together. If you feel like identifying with people of your religion (though why you'd choose to just with people of your own religion is beyond me 8-| ) you could always create a poll or something just to find out. But a single topic, let alone a forum for this stuff would be just a bad idea :-/ Trouble waiting to happen and all.
  18. I just have two things to add to this thread... and
  19. Exactly why price needs to be considered as well X-D I don't believe I ever mentioned the US price, did I? I was commenting on the price that was given, which was far too high for what was offered. I never meant to imply that people should only post prices in USD, since...this is a European site afterall! I was merely discussing my disappointment with the one price given so far, and still stand by the point that price matters. You can have the best set in the world, but if it should be priced at $20US, and instead it's priced at $120US, it's not going to get very high reviews.
  20. Besides this being a Lego site, there's a problem with those kinds of discussions. The topics mentioned are very personal, and being such, the opinions are held very strongly. It's very rare that you'll get anything less than everyone strongly arguing (or shouting) their opinion at every one else, while tearing their own hair out in frustration, unable to understand why the other person just doesn't "see the truth". People very rarely change their opinion, and even rarer change it when someone else is trying to make them change it. A forum like that would only lead to spamming, arguments, and grudges, IMO. I agree with most everyone who has spoken before me, this just isn't needed.
  21. Well look at it this way, are we judging the quality of the set as a whole, or are we just judging the parts? Clearly if we were just concerning ourselves with parts, this would be a near-perfect set! The price point of a set is a very large factor that determines its overall quality. For a set of that price, the designers should have given us considerably more, and while what they gave us may be ample (or moreso) for a $3-4 set, for a $7 I would expect quite a bit more, and it feels lacking, almost like a rip-off. Whether or not something is over or under priced is definitely a factor of the set, because not only does it show how creative and generous they were with the parts they had available, but it also shows us what they didn't have to give us, or what else they should've given us. The new Castle Siege set is brilliant, and it would be a fantastic set for $50! However for $100 I would expect quite a bit more, and it lowers the ranking I would give it. Since Crocadile Cage is no longer being sold, the only price that it would make sense to reference would be the one that was a part of the environment when it was out in stores, since the BL and ebay prices vary, but ultimately do nothing but go up. You see what I'm talking about?
  22. Very useful information! I would've assumed that this set retailed for $3-4, but $7.25US? That's just too much. For my imaginary price I'd have given this a 5/5 (or 10/10, or 39/40) but at that price I'd have to kick it down to 2-3/5. Really nice extras, but at a really bad price.
  23. I can't attest to the movie, since I have yet to see it, but if there's one thing I've noticed is that they don't skimp on writers. The other day on TV they were showing the end battle between Megatron (Galvatron) and Optimus. It was a new series, I think post-2000. I have to say the animation was superb, and the the dialogue was...well it blew me away. It was actually dramatic, and at times a little bad-megablocks. It blew away most American AND Japanese animations from the past 10 years, and really brought about that sense of an epic battle, which is hard to do these days, and even harder to do right.
  24. I actually did a few months back. It was before anything was known about the new castle line, I had a dream I was in a store that was loaded with new sets. It was insane though, aisle upon aisle of sets, mostly small ones (like 3 figs and a canon or something). It really reminded me of the sets they used to have when I was a child, but it was a historical theme, I think I remember something about Napoleon. I basically was just happy that they returned to their old ways. Also, when I was REALLY young I had a dream where I went into a store and saw my MOC as an official set being sold.
  25. So basically it was the skeleton tower with the princess and knight switched? :-D
