Congrats! You'll certainly do a great job as a regulator!

Congratulations on your promotion! It's nice to have you as a regulator.

I didn't think it had so many pieces. Wow! Unfortunately, the PF addition will make it more expensive than I hoped to get it for. Anyway, it'll be a wonderful addition to my Holiday Train. The Holiday Train and the Winter Toy Shop go very well with each other and form a nice winter scene.

Nice little story! Animals often add a lot to one's day by funny situations. We have neighbours who have chickens, and the wood is not far from us. So we have foxes and martens coming for visits. Pretty dangerous for the animals. Not only for chickens but also rabbits. I often check the locking mechanism of our rabbits' cages twice and never leave them in the outdoor enclosure over night. A marten family has been living under our roof, by the way. I hope the technical thingy we are using now will drive them away. They're not only a danger for our rabbits and the neighbours' chickens but also annoying. They can be very noisy. Just where they get under the roof, my dad has recently found a squeaking toy for little kids: a little yellow plastic mouse that squeaks when you squeeze it. The martens must have taken it there. No idea where they got it from. So we had some squeaking noises under the roof because they were playing with it. That was pretty irritating since we had no idea how they were producing such noises.

Happy birthday!!

Taylor Swift: "Untouchable" and "Should've Said No." Let's see if I can discover some more songs by her that I like. She's still not known in Europe (apart from Britain and Ireland), but I hope this changes soon. I'd love to go to one of her concerts.

Martial arts is quite popular among children. Sometimes kids learn to love their martial art and keep training it for many years. Also adults sometimes join a martial arts club and learn to love it. My questions are: Did you or do you train in martial arts? And which martial arts did you go for and why? I started judo when I was 12. I took my black belt exam in March 2006. I'm a 1st degree black belt, but I don't train anymore due to health problems. And no, my martial arts did not harm my body. So judo is not the cause for my physical problems. Anyway, I train tai chi now. Tai chi may not be real martial arts, but it includes several kung fu elements. Back to judo: I chose judo because it was somehow a family tradition. My grandpa trained in jiu jitsu. My dad and my godfather did judo and one of my dad's uncles also did judo. Apart from that, when I started training, judo and karate were the only popular martial arts back then.

MOC: Swedish state railways RC class engines
legotrainfan replied to Selander's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Very nice locomotives! You did a great job! This Swedish locomotive was also exported to Austria but as a slightly modified version. It proved to be very reliable on the many mountain railway routes. Here a pic: Source: http://www.lok-doctor.de/bilder/1043.jpg -
Happy birthday Panda9001100! I didn't see a cogratulations thread so I had to start one because I'm happy to have you around. You add a lot of useful comments to train related discussions. Also happy birthday to the other guys who share their birthday with Panda9001100!

I'm now taking TheBrickster's pic for orientation to clarify my example: Imagine you add track to the upper left part of the crossing and the track comes back on the upper right part, forming a loop. You must always make sure the track is long enough for long trains; otherwise the train will crash into itself. My brother enjoyed doing that, by the way. Another reason why I don't use it though I have two of them is they need a lot of space. If I had more space, I'd certainly use it because I have lots of curves with which I don't know what to do. Crossings are ideal if you don't know what to do with all your curved tracks.

You wanted a link? Just click here. That's where I mentioned the wheel problem. I hope it helps.

Great locomotive! AgentRick57, it does indeed resemble 4564 but not too much. It still looks unique. It's a very nice engine.

Amazing collection of 12V trains! It must've cost you a little fortune to acquire them after your dark age. Though I'm a 9V guy, I love the classic charm the 12V trains spread. And your trains look very clean. I cannot see dust on them in contrast to my trains.
-
Even though I have 2 straight RC track pieces, I voted that I only have one type of track, which is 9V. I use the two RC straights for sidings only; or if I connect two circles with switches, I sometimes put an RC track between the connecting switches as as sort of security mechanism. In case the switches have not been set correctly, the RC track will prevent a disaster.... actually I don't know what happens if the electricity of one train moving forward on the outer circle gets into the inner circle where an engine is moving in the other direction, but I don't want to try. However, I'm still a train nerd, so I'm very interested in PF trains. They'd run on 9V tracks, but 9V stuff is getting more and more expensive. Maybe sooner or later I'll start buying larger quantities of RC tracks. Especially 9V straights are already very expensive.

Wonderful train! I wanted to compare it with a real one and did a google picture search. Seems to be a rare locomotive. I just found one very small pic of it. Anyway, I think your MOC looks fabulous!

...when you are an Indian fakir who prefers lying on LEGO bricks to lying on a bed of nails. ...when you are learning a foreign language and are trying to learn all the LEGO specific terms like "bley" and "stud" in that language. (By the way, my mother tongue is German ). ...when you throw LEGO bricks at a burglar to drive him away. ...when you can't pay the parking fine because you've used up all your money for LEGO. ...when you've forgotten about your Playmobil past in your childhood. ...when you give all your relatives LEGO presents on occassions such as birthdays and Christmas. ...when you are only Christian because you believe that God gave us LEGO. ...when you believe you can fix the ozone hole with LEGO bricks.

...when you accidentally stepped on some LEGO bricks bare-footed and then apologise to the bricks, fearing that they might have got hurt.

I can really recommend reproducing the waggon of set 4555. I'm planning on building seven of them but not with a blue baseplate, of course. The blue one is extremely rare. It came with this set only and appeared in no other set. But I'm using black pieces instead of the blue ones. Easy build, many waggons, long train... perfect! OK, it may not be a real flatbed waggon since there are some bricks on top of it needed to stack containers on it. Anyway, still a nice and easy way of building several waggons.

Taylor Swift - Love Story I cannot get that tune out of my head. It's so catchy. For a long time I haven't listend to a song so often in such a short time as to this one.

According to brickset, I own 34,343 parts. Very funny number! 3 and 4 come alternately. However, this count does not include all the parts I bought from PaB and bricklink. So the number is definitely higher.... but not much higher. Even if there was a count for bricklink and PaB parts, I'm not sure if it would go beyond 40,000.

Unfortunately I'm not familiar with NXT either. Your train station looks a bit empty. Just try to do what Captain Green Hair has suggested. I think his tips are very good. As for your railway station, I think it looks brilliant. The choice of colours is nothing special, but it still looks amazing. I don't like building with red bricks too much because I always feel I end up with a fire station, but you did a great job. It doesn't look like a fire station at all. What I find striking is the big, black roof. You must've needed a lot of black slopes for it! Can you lift the roof so that you have access to its interior? If not, I'd be a good idea to be able to do so.

Apart from two straight, bley RC tracks, I only own 9V tracks. Apart from two switches plus the two curves that came with them, all of my 9V tracks are old dark grey. I also have Railway Station 7824, a 12V set. I bought it second hand from eBay. The straight 12V tracks were not included in the auction. So I don't have a layout with many different track types. However, since 9V tracks - especially the straights - have become rare, I'll be forced to add bley 9V straights sooner or later, I fear. As for the two straight RC tracks, I wanted to test them on short-circuited layouts to overcome that problem. I have never tried it though. I think it's bad for the motor when it moves at full speed and is then, for the length of one straight track, not supplied with electricity any more. I know that two motors connected with an electric wire could solve that problem, but I don't want to equip all my engines with two motors. Now I sometimes use the two RC straights as the final track pieces of sidings.

Availability of Cafe Corner, Green Grocer etc & sets in general?
legotrainfan replied to Phleep's topic in LEGO Town
I'm quite happy that I bought my Market Street several days before Christmas 2008... despite the colour problems of the earth blue bricks. Anyway, there was a time when a set was available for 4 to 5 years. Just think of the original Metroliner 4558. It appeared in the LEGO catalogues for 5 years. That was long.... and I still didn't manage to get it back then but had to wait for the re-release. -
Train Parts Needed for Pick A Brick
legotrainfan replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Agreed. And I think I've already mentioned the following elsewhere: train plates (6x24 and 6x28) should be available in several colours. But there's always a possibilty of getting the other colours by phoning the customer service. I got two red train plates by phoning TLC though they're not listed on PaB. -
Wow, what an amzing moc, and it's so big! Pretty cool and I assume your MOC will certainly look even more amazing when linked to the official modular LEGO buildings! You also devouted a lot of time to the creation of a nice interior. The room where the suits are stored is ingenious! Wonderful work!
