  1. These are some very fine waggons you have built. I can only agree to thebrickster: Your waggons look really smooth and leave the impression as if they were not built with LEGO bricks. They almost look like waggons of a real model train manufacturer.
  2. Agreed. Plus the Imperial Flagship 10210. Actually all sets that are exclusives become gems as soon as they're discontinued.
  3. I've bought many pieces from TLC that were/are not listed on PaB. Once I bought two straight RC tracks. My plan was to create a layout with 9V rails that would normally produce a short-circuit. By inserting an RC track, you could avoid that problem. You'd then need an engine with two 9V motors that are connected with a 9V wire with plates to get the train over one piece of straight track through which no electricity runs. The other straight track I wanted to have as a spare part or for other short-circuited parts of the layout. That was my original idea. Well, I didn't do all that since my plans changed. But I got two straight RC tracks by just phoning TLC's customer service and telling them in which set that piece can be found. As I said, I got two and I'm sure I could have got 20 or more if I had wanted. These are the only two RC tracks I own. It always irritates me when people complain about bricks not being available on PaB. Just phone TLC! Often they can sell you the bricks even though they don't exist on Pab. I built my own Vestas windmill without buying the rare pieces for very high prices from bricklink; I bought the green BURPs and the big white pieces for its support directly from TLC by making a simple phone call. Edit: I could check the price of the straights if you're interested. I still should have the receipt of that purchase. But I made that purchase a long time ago, so the price of a straight might have gone up a bit.
  4. Straights and curves should be sold in separate sets. But there's always the possibility of buying several straight tracks by phoning TLC's customer service. Problem solved... at least for those who have no 9V trains. I always have to buy the more costly 9V straight tracks. Even in used condition they have become quite dear.
  5. What?! 700 helmets? You must be working on a really big army!
  6. I'm not necessarily too open about it. My paternal relatives know it. They've been pretty neutral about it. Just one aunt wanted to know where I get all that stuff from since she never finds anything like that for her son in shops. Well, that's the problem with exclusives, especially when you aren't aware of S@H. Some of my friends know about this hobby too. But there aren't so many who know it. Only some. So far I think it's better to reveal such a hobby to female friends. They are less in a mocking mood when it comes to disclosing my hobby. But even one of my male mates from university found it quite ok to collect LEGO. He himself collected old computer games. Maybe he still collects them. No idea.
  7. 40 straight 9V tracks. They are used but in old dark grey.
  8. Though I'm buying none of the new train sets, I really like the tanker waggon of the freight train. It has the right dimensions compared to Tanker 10016, which was just too big for my taste. But it still looks nice when it is pulled by the BNSF locomotive.
  9. The green of my newly arrived Emerald Night is inconsistent. Especially the green of 1x2 bricks sticks out. I'm not going to complain though. They'd just send me some replacement parts with the same inconsistencies.
  10. I think I'd give up my LEGO hobby completely. I don't want to mix my LEGO stuff with bricks from another manufacturer...... yeees, I know what has been written here! I've read that it would be the same as mixing LEGO bricks from the 90s with LEGO elements from now. For me there's still a difference; or so I simply believe. Quality has been an issue for a while. TLC takes criticism seriously.... or do they just pretend to take it seriously? I have no idea! We all know that colour problems have been around for some years now with new issues coming up all the time. So why has TLC not tackled this problem successfully? Are they letting us down? I'm pretty surprised that TLC has not been able to solve colour problems and other quality issues satisfactorily.
  11. I wasn't even ten when I first saw this amazing set in Lego catalogue. I was completely fascinated. Unfortuntely, it was quite expensive, and in the same year 9V trains were released. I went for 9V trains, but I'd love to have this set. It's really outstanding!!
  12. I've settled into two themes, namely trains and town/city. However, I actually regard these two as one theme. This does not mean that I never buy sets from other themes. I must still get Medieval Market Village. And I've recently bought the Red Beard Runner.
  13. My first pirate set was either 6265 Sabre Island or 6260 Shipwreck Island. Can't remember which one I had first.
  14. This is a great corner building! I'd buy it if it were an official set. Since it's no official set, I suppose it is quite expensive to get all the parts to build it.
  15. I have got Market Street and I don't care about the whole between the buildings it can cause. I can just put the part causing the gap aside - it is built on a separate baseplate - and move Market Street wall-to-wall to another building. No problem at all. I'm happy to have Market Street.
  16. Nice moc! It really looks like the original in the picture! Good work! I think I have never seen such a shunting tractor in real life. However, I know the tractor brand since I've seen an ordinary tractor of that type. It's a Fiat tractor (like the car manufacturer), but this tractor brand doesn't exist anymore. Fiat's tractor section merged with Ford to New Holland.
  17. 6290 Red Beard Runner, new and sealed.

  19. Happy birthday!!
  20. I voted for Romans. It'd be nice to have some Roman monuments in the form of LEGO buildings.
  21. Does anybody know if this set comes with the castle wall panels of this design (old design) or whether it'll have the wall panels that could be found in the new pirate line?
  22. My trains are all on the floor of a room.
  23. Whether it looks good and its price. These are the two most important critera for me.
  24. Lady in grey: And you really want to return this wonderful golden plate? Lady in red: Yes, it has never been used. I still have the receipt to return it and the most important reason is: I found it cheaper elsewhere.
  25. I voted: Depending on whether they're good, TLC should bring back alternate builds. They should be in the instructions and on the box. A return of the slogan "Just imagine" would be nice. I think it describes best what you can do with LEGO bricks: Use your imagination. I really liked the alternate builds on boxes in the past. Sometimes it annoyed me tremendously that there were no instructions for them included.
